My Andoid Devices wil not wake up my printer from Power Save Mode

I have an HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw istalled as a wireless network printer. I have various computers with XP and Windows 8 operating systems that wake up the printer from Power Save mode without problems. I also can print wirelessly from my Windows 8 phone. The problem arises when I try to print from my Android devices. I have installed the HP All-In-One Remote App from the Android Store and they seem to have installed correctly. They recognise the network printer, tell me that it is Power Save mode but are unable to wake it up. Can anyone help with this one please?
The Andoid version on the Tablet is 4.2.2

Hello Jerends and thank you for your attention to my printer problem. My printer already has a fixed IP address so no need to go down that road. I managed to get around the problem by deleting the HP All in One App from my Android devices and replacing it with the HPePrint App. It's not perfect but does the job.

It seems volatile memory is lost on the PCI GPIB Card. When the system returns from power-save, I cannot get to my GPIB instruments. I have to close the application and restart it. I've tried unregistering and reregistering the gpib globals and resetting the device interfaces (reissuing the ibdev command) without luck. I am using Visual Basic 6, but I also get the Measurement and Automation Explorer to fail in the same way, so I don't think it is my development environment.

Can you change your power save settings? What operating system
are you running?
Also, some BIOS's have options for power save. For example, recent
IBM's can be set to maintain power to all peripherals, or only to main
memory. Of course, you would want it to maintain power.
I suspect the GPIB board and its driver are completely unable to
handle power save operation. It probably was never considered while
it was being designed.

Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 both will not allow me to print from them. InDesign will, but illustrator keeps popping up with "can't print the illustration." i have read other forums and i understand outlining typefaces, and spot colors but, it still will not allow me to print. Even if i open a completely new file and just try to print a black square it will not allow it. the problem might have started with an emailed EPS file? but im not 100 percent sure. i have disconnected and re connected the printer but the problem just seems as if all Illustrator, and Photoshop files will not print from the program and the connection with the printer is non existent (even though it says it is). please help!

I understand you have a Photosmart C6180 that you're having issues using in Mac 10.9. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening, but I will certainly do my best to assist you.
I'm wondering how you installed the printer. If you had it installed prior to upgrading to 10.9 that could be part of the problem. There are currently no HP drivers available for this printer for 10.9, so you need to uninstall the HP software and install the printer via the Apple updates. Once you do that you should be able to print normally and scan using 3 different methods.

My Xserve does not wake up every Saturday from a cold start / cold boot up.

Hello, everyone,
This is my first time using this Apple Discussions Forum here and so hope any expert out there who can solve my problem, I'd deeply appreciated. Basically the problem is like this.
I configured Xserve to
wake up 8:50 am wake up every morning.
shut down system 1:00 am every morning.
There are two places to be configured here:
1. System Preferences' Energy Saver
2. Workgroup Manager>Computer List>Preferences> Schedules>Mac OS X Server.
The time schedules in those two places are ensured to be at the same setting.
(does anyone know which is the main one?)
Furthermore,
I have a clock timer set to 2:00 am to shut down the main power supply to the Xserve. And so,
Power Supply timer provides power to Xserve:
8:40 am every morning (before scheduled Xserve waking up time, 8:50 am)
Power supply cut down the power to Xserve:
2:00 am every morning (after scheduled Xserve shutting down time, 1:00 am)
Why am I doing this? Because I think it is good for Xserve's power supply fan. If I let Xserve's power supply run 24/7 for years, the motor is wearing down soon. It also saves some energy for me.
Normally the power supply would first provides the power to Xserve before Xserve would boot up as scheduled.
Now, this setting works pretty well for me for months until recently.
My Xserve will not boot up every Saturday morning as scheduled. I cannot figure out why it does this weird behavior.
I tried to search forums and google many many places, and find no solution.
Here are a list of things I have tried:
I changed 2 new PRAM battery twice in one month.
I have tried to reset SMC.
I have tried to reset PRAM.
I tried to reset PRAM before SMC reset. I also tried to reset SMC before PRAM reset.
Worse yet, on Saturday morning, Xserve is like in a deep coma, I tried to remotely boot it up by LOM, it does not even respond to my LOM waking up call. It is like a naughty kid refusing to wake up in the Saturday morning. The only way to wake it up is that I I have to take a long walk and physically go to my Xserve and hold the power button for 5 seconds and press it again and so it wakes up. Note that if I just press the power button once, it does not boot up neither. Why?
Then the next day, it is normal again for another 6 days until next Saturday. I could not figure out why it does this. Why just Saturday? Why not Sunday or any other day between Monday to Friday?
Funny and strange behavior.
The problem is periodic and so I believe it has something to do with the software and/or the PRAM caching the alarm time, which may influence the SMC setting.
Note: the Apple website says SMC controls the waking time while Apple manual also says PRAM is responsible for alarm clock.
I would normally
shut down system
unplug the cable
hold the power button for 5 seconds and let it go
plug back the power cable.
Xserve should either boot up by itself or stay cold for me to boot up.
note: the manual just say unplug the cable for 5 sec but did not say hold the power button for 5 second, and I think that is wrong; you have indeed have to hold the power button for 5 seconds as the Apple website said. Otherwise when I cut down power supply every day, my SMC is reset by itself every day.
I have a voltage regulator before my Xserve's power supply and so the voltage is very stable.
Any Xserve experts out there has the same problem like I do??

Hi, MrHoffman , I couldn't agree more with your view point. Xserve not only reacts poorly to sudden power shortage, its HDDs may also get hurt during sudden power removal. Therefore, I was extremely careful when resetting SMC. Bad SMC procedure can hurt HDD.

I've come to narrow down the problem and suspect the root cause is LOM bug. Basically this is what happens in the last 4 days.
After nearly 3 weeks of monitoring my Xserve, it was running perfectly normal until 4 days ago. Suddenly, my Xserve fails to wake up for 4 days in a row. I almost made it---a perfect run for 1 month without ever having to reset SMC once! This time, the failed waking-up event took place during normal weekdays. So it is still a mystery to me that why my Xserve previously fails to wake up only on Saturday (perhaps, hackers prefer Saturday because that's when they are free?---just kidding). However, at least I now know the problem can take place at anytime.
Maybe I should first list my Xserve's specification.
Xserve Late 2006 Model
2.0 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
8G RAM
Mac OS X Leopard Server 10.5.8 (Build 9L34)
Boot ROM: XS11.0080.B01
LOM version: 1.2.8
I am only using en0 for both LAN and LOM.
So since I was not able to wake up my Xserve remotely by LOM, it is intuitive to check Server Monitor on Xserve side.
On my Xserve side, I had
Name: Nothing (it was localhost)
IP Address: 127.0.0.1
Status Summary: Software is not installed properly on server.
At this point, I was wondering where did my Status Summary go? So as an incentive move, I delete the 127.0.0.1 from Server Monitor list and go to >Server Monitor>Server>Configure Local Machine, trying to re-add the localhost server back to Server Monitor list. Then it is when all of the troubles occur.
The Server Monitor simply hangs there. When check Finder>Force Quit Applications, I see Server Monitor (not responding).
So I was questioning myself that if this failed waking-up event is a software issue or a hardware sensor issue. Before answering to this question, as a good habit, let me post my log file.

SPAD:-- Device TType not specified for given printer

Dear Friends,
I am trying to add printer device type for Canon IR 3170 but there is not any device type specified for this printer within SAP.
So I have added SAPWIN with Access method as G: But when we are trying to print document which contain 600 or 700 pages it is failed.
I came to know there are restrictions with front-end printing.
1. Please advise if there is no device type specified for printer how we can utilize that. Is there any method to create device type?
2. is there any tool available where we can utilize any printer for bulk printing
Any suitable proposal will be appreciated
We are on ECC6.0, Windows 2003 server operating system & MS SQL 2005 as a Database.

W510 does not wake up when it goes into Sleep mode - Windows 7 Bit

Hi All,
The Lenovo thinkpad w510 does not want to wake up once it goes into sleep mode, I have to push the power button until it shuts down completely and then reboot it completely, I have tried different settings in the power management etc. We have the same pissue on 3 different w510`s with Windows 7 pro 64 Bit
Has anybody got a solution for this problem?

Printer will not copy but will print from the computer

Hp Photosmart D110 all in one printer--I am totally disgusted with this printer...have had it a few months. It will only get about 160 economy pages per ink cartridge which is ridiculous. So we bought an ink refill kit and just refilled and reinstalled the black ink cartridge. it is printing from the computer just fine but the printer WILL NOT COPY. When I use the tool box and check ink levels it just shows question marks on both ink cartridges.
I spent 45 minutes on HP Chat Support and got no answers except that I need to use genuine HP Cartridges. They could not explain to me why the printer would print but not copy with refilled cartridge.
Any help from any of you regarding the NOT copying and the ink cartridges.....thanks so much

Avery Barcode labels does not align properly when printed from Adobe Reader 11.0.0

I have barcode labels in a PDF (Version 1.4, Acrobat 5.x). PDF producer is PPAlambic(Distiller). When I try to print the PDF on to Avery 5160 sheet containing 30 labels (10 rows; 3 labels in a row), always the barcodes on the first column goes beyond the left margins and hence does not print the full barcode. PDF size is 8.5" * 11" .I have tried following options in Print dialog box:
1. Actual Size + Portrait + Letter size
2. Shrink oversized pages + Portrait + Letter size
3. Fit + Portrait + Letter size
None of the above options resolved my issue.
When I open the same PDF in Adobe Reader 11.0.07, it prints perfectly. Does someone help me understand if this is a known defect in Adobe 11.0.0 and is there any workaround in 11.0.0 itself to adjust the alignment?
Note: PDF is not editable as it comes from a third party vendor. Please help.

If you haven't already, I would recommend that you download and install the very latest OS X drivers for this printer from the manufacturer's support site.

HT3887 My bluetooth devices will not wake my iMac from sleep mode.

My iMac will not awake using the bluetooth keyboard or mouse. I can use a USB mouse but bluetooth and network connection will not respond. I must restart the machine. This happens after several hours of being in sleep mode like all day when at work or over night. I have the system set to wake the computer with a keyboard or mouse click. THis works only when in sleep mode for an hour or two.

Is there anyone that can assist me with a HP LaserJet color printer mfp 200 that weill not "WAKEUP" when print tasks are sent to the spooler?

These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and make your router secure and hack proof.
1. Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual).
    This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers. Verify your DHCP range and change this
    first if needed. More Wireless Printing help is here.
2. Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off' is disabled. Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going to the
    printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click Settings Tab/Auto Off. Or use the Printer
    Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS).
In the router: (Refer to your router manual for information)
3. Use a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
4. Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
5. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
6. Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security. Nobody can hack your
   system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
7. If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same,
   they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
8. Save all settings. Power off both, wait 2 mins. Power on router wait 2 mins.
9. Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.
Windows 7/8/8.1   Is Network Discovery on or off?
Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Advanced sharing settings.
Under Home or Work (current profile) / Network Discovery.
Select "Turn on network discovery" and save changes.

Iphone 3 will NoT wake up. Repost from archive

My iphone 3g has been tethered to my computer via USB since *AUGUST 2010* and iphone software 4.2.1 and before that. It Would work untethered if I put the IPod on shuffle for as long as it took to run the battery out, about 1.5 days.
I bought a new battery based on Apple Discussions, and was going to install it today. Note, WAS!
Oddly enough, my iphone 3g now works GREAT.
Hm, installed ITunes 10.1.1 (4) on 12/18/2010 and now the phone doesn't need the battery I spent $ for. I found out by mistake that it no longer needed to be tethered to my computer today.
I'm seriously disgruntled with certain Apple Discussions highly rated ppl telling me I was nuts for thinking it was software issues even though the iphone turned into a brick after a software update, and I'm unhappy that Apple would NOT admit there were issues. In the meantime, I'm not doing anymore freaking updates since I have a phone that holds a charge for HOURS and now works just FINE! (WITHOUT THE NEW BATTERY I THOUGHT I NEEDED)
I love apple, and I hate them for lying to me about their software issues. Especially, Thanks to the butthead that gave me loads of manure for thinking it was a software issue, you're an ejit.

I've been an active participant in the iPhone discussions for over 3 years and I don't recall an outcry that manifested over time here or otherwise, and since I have installed and used every firmware version, I don't recall a firmware update that listed this particular problem as being addressed specifically with the update, so since you are certain this was addressed specifically with a firmware update that was listed as being included with the update, please provide the firmware version since I'm interested in learning new things. I haven't seen many if any other threads here that include this particular problem.
And you honestly think AT&T did something that has affected the iPhone's home button for an extremely small percentage of users with the number of posts here reporting this particular problem being very few that Apple is "scrambling" to fix?
I didn't say fix since a hardware problem won't be fixed at an Apple store. I said confirmed - big difference. And since you don't get out much, where does having little faith in Apple stores come from? The times I have been at an Apple store specifically near the genius bar, I have witnessed problems being addressed. They do very little if any selling at the genius bar.
