I'm not sure which option you set. Requiring the password after 5 seconds in System Preferences > Security only kicks in after the sleep or screen saver. The smallest option for sleep or screen saver is 1 minute.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

BT Cloud - Cannot open certain files on my Android...

I have downloaded BT Cloud on to my desktop & laptop PCs (both Win7) also onto my Nexus 7 (2013) (version 4.4.2) and Asus TF101 (4.0.3), both running Android.   So far I think it is great but I cannot open the following files on the Android devices:
1> My Docs.ink.    2> Panorama.psd.    3> ehthumbs.db     4>   Desktop.ini
On trying to open, the following is displayed:   <Your device does not support this file type>.
.jpg and videos seem to display, although some do not. As I have just started using Cloud, does this mean that it is still loading in the full amount of photos etc?.       Do I need some other software or is it impossible.    BT state that I can look at computer content on all my devices but this seems a problem. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The files you're trying to access are as follows:
1> My Docs.ink - A shortcut to a Microsoft Windows folder
2> Panorama.psd - An Adobe Photoshop Image (so you'll need Photoshop on your android to load it)
3> ehthumbs.db - A Windows Database file to show Thumbnail previews in Windows
4> Desktop.ini - A Windows Data File relating to your PC's desktop
These can only be accessed on the PC.
Although not an exhaustive list, to give you a flavour as to what Cloud is commonly used for, the files which you'll be able to commonly share between devices are:
Microsoft Office (Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets, Powerpoint etc)
Pictures
Music
Video
Saved Webpages

I have used my Pages software for years. All of a sudden, I cannot open anything. It shows my documents on the "open" tab but then in will not open them. Also, when I try and create a new document, I get the error message stating that "Starting point 'blank.template' couldn't be found. It was moved or deleted." So I'm thinking my whole Pages application has been deleted somehow. Is there a way to re-install it without repurchasing it? Help!

Where and how did you buy it? As a DVD from a store, a download from Apple or from the Mac App Store?
If you got it from the Mac App Store, just delete it and (re)install it from the Purchases section.
If you received a DVD when you bought it you just need to delete it, reinstall it and update it.
The best way to completely remove iWork from your Mac is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript:

Download Uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button

I've just purchased an e-book from an online retailer, to read on my iPad 2. The store indicates I must download ADE2 in order to access the book. The store indicates further that this is compatible with iPad 2. Imagine my irritation when, in endeavouring to do so, Safari tells me it cannot open the file. I've read the responses to similar questions in this forum. Reference to the suggested link is no help at all, as iPad is not listed as a compatible device. Does this mean that e-books locked up with ADE2 cannot be read on iPad or iPhone? Is there no solution?

Install the Bluefire app on the iPad/iPhone and authorize it with your Adobe ID.
There are other apps too, but Bluefire seems to give the least awkwardness; others sometimes have authorization issues.
I can't remember right now if Bluefire can open the .acsm token file and download the real DRM .epub/.pdf.
If not,
install ADE on PC or Mac
authorize it
download the .acsm and use ADE to open it, which will create the .epub/.pdf file.
transfer this to you iPad.
If you had an Android device this would be easy using file manager to the mounted drive.
Apple likes to make life complicated for iPad users, you must do the transfer indirectly via Dropbox, iTunes, emailing yourself, or similar.
open the file on the iPad. From Dropbox there is some sort of 'open with' in the top right when you receive the file.

Hi, when I open RDP on my iMac, it reads "cannot open default.rdp" and it never saves my preferences or connections. It resets after each launch.
How do I go about fixing this?
UPDATE and FIX
I went to the Finder menu, clicked on GO, held down Option (Alt) to bring up the Library.
In the Library, I browsed to Preferences, found the com.microsoft.rdp plist and deleted it. Then I emptied my Trash. If you get an error saying rdp plist is in use and cannot be deleted, quit out of RDP or reboot the machine (if quitting RDP doesn't work).
Also, there was a permissions issue. I browsed to the Applications folder, located the Microsoft Office folder, right clicked the folder (or CTRL click) and selected GET INFO. First--In order to make any changes, authenticate with admin privileges using the lock icon (put in your username and password). From there (under Sharing & Permissions), I made sure my username (account currently logged in) and everyone had Read & Write privileges, then I clicked on the little gear icon (drop-down) and selected Apply to Enclosed items.
Voila!
This worked for me.

Actually, I still receive an error when I try to save the connections.
I get an error that reads
"Make sure that you have permission to write to the location where you want to save the file"
Any help with this would be great!
