My animation runs hard :(

I am beginner! Please help me solve the problem! Out a site in flash cs4 and I faced a problem in creating symbols that contain animations in movieclip transparent. For example I have a layer formed an animation in a movieclip symbol in the first frame is 0% transparent effect and last frames are 80% transparent effect, so animation is in the gradual emergence of an object 0 in vision vision 80%. The problem is that under this layer I have 10 layers containing the same type of animation with objects that appear in the transparency opacity. This is going extremely difficult exported animation, I actually go jerky. Somebody knows how to optimize code or in another method so that can get a rolling animation fix.

From your description, it sounds like you are attempting something that is very processor intensive. There may be no way to achieve exactly what you want. If you are applying an alpha change tween on many items at the same time and each of these tweens may be overlapping each other, then you are asking for a lot of work from the video processor. You may be pushing this processor beyond its limits and so the result will fail.
Try simpifying the animation until it runs smoothly. You may also want to test on more than one computer. If your computer plays the animation smootly, some other computers may not work as well. Always design for your intended audience.

Two seperate animations running at the same time

I would like to make a fully automated presentation, with some object moving and the like... I am trying to have two seperate animations running on the same slide. The animations are quite simple - move in, move around, move out. What I would like is that they both act seperately so they start at the same time, but otherwise begins to move at different times and exits at different times. I'm having trouble achieving this as i can only link automatic actions to the last action on the list (i.e. I can't have two trees of actions that start simultaneous)
I hope I have succedes in complicating an otherwise straightforward question with my late-at-night english

You'll have to be more imaginative with the way you structure the builds so you can in fact do it inside one tree. (Not a put down, just it's hard to give more exact answer because the question has few specifics).
Remember you have +*delay options*+ for each build, so two concurrent build/move actions can actually occur at different times in the presentation. Play with the start build and delay controls and you should be apples.

SWF Animations Run at Startup - Before Reaching Imported Screen?

Hello,
I imported a simple swf animation into captivate. The animation runs smooothly enough. However, the problem is that the animation which is on screens 3 has already finished playing by the time the user reach that screen???
I read some of the posts and could not find a solution to this preculiar.
Does anyone have any input that might address this issue?
I'm using Captivate 5 (eLearning Suite 2).

Perhaps, If the only problem, is that the animation might loaad on a new window on --OPEN File or URL option, you can get around that by defining, that it should continue playing on the same window.
Like this--
Alternately you can assign an Advance Action to --
Enable Object SWF on Slide Enter 3. And similarly keep it disabled on Slide --On Enter for Slide 1st and 2nd.

Performance issues in iOS- Animations run really slow. (CS5.5/AS3)

I have created an app in CS5.5 for Android and iOS. I have tested on two Android devices and everyingthing works fine. However, on an iPad and iPhone the animations are really slow. Here are some more facts:
1) My project has many scenes and in the problems scene there are upwards of 1,200 frames. But even simple animations run slowly.
2) The frame rate is set for 24 fps.
3) I have created a universal app (iphone and ipad), publish resolution is standard at full screen.
4) Ironically, I have already tried caching as bitmap. That actually slowed my animations even more.
I am truely at the end of the line here and don't have any possible solutions.
I could use some help here. Any possible solutions would help.

Bring it in for service. Anytime hardware test detects an error, that's an indication the service department needs to fix it.

You have to take the computer to the Apple store as soon as possible.
Interpretation of these error codes are very difficult.
There is no published info about these codes from Apple.

Machine running hard after Leopard upgrade - anyone else experiencing this?

Recently upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.5.2. After reboot, machine seems to be processing/running hard, with fans accelerating & decelerating. One issue may be that the RAM upgrade is not what I wanted it to be, since the supplier sent only one of the two 512MB cards that I ordered (2nd one on the way). So I have one 216MB & one 512MB in there now. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Machine seems a little slow as well. Most of the apps installed are 2-3 yrs. old (Office, etc.). Any feedback would be appreciated.

You could use the free tool iStat Pro to see what changes when you connect your MBA to the display. Without doing anything the CPU pane should show a high percentage for "Idle". If the idle value is too low, launch the Activity Monitor and sort by CPU usage. There is a pane showing the different temperatures of your computer. Watch them for a few minutes after connecting the display.

Flash animations run slowly on Internet Explorer 9

Hi all,
I recently downloaded and installed the Internet Explorer 9 RC from Microsoft and updated my Flash player to version 10,2,152,26 . I am having issues running Flash animations and other Flash objects within that browser. All of them, even the animation on http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about is sluggish and jerky on my computer. On the flash videos on YouTube, the entire page will not even render, and a black box will show up where the video is. I will be able to hear the audio from the video, but the video itself will not play. I cannot control anything on the page, and my CPU usage skyrockets to 100% and holds there. I have not been having this problem on any other pages, and I have IE9 set to software rendering as opposed to GPU rendering.

3 GHz single core AMD Athlon Processor
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 5200 FX (AGP 8x) with driver version 9.6.8.5 (latest)

Finder won't run/Hard Drive won't mount on restart!!?!

Hey all.
Restarted my Powerbook G4 on OSX 10.4.10 yesterday, and for some reason, the Finder does not run, and the HardDrive icon does not appear. My top bar appears partially, and my Dock appears with all my programs, but the desktop is empty!?!
Some of the programs on the Dock work (hence the internet). and the top bar becomes full when a program opens...but I can't access the Harddrive! Ahhh! There were some files on the desktop and on my HD that I needed, so surprisingly I was able to open up Acrobat, hit open file, and locate and open these files from the desktop or HD, and then save them to a USB drive....but why doesn't my finder work or harddrive mount??
I've zapped the P ram and nothing was fixed, I ran disk utility from my OSX CD...no problems. ***?? I also read somewhere about a divx problem with 10.5...but I ran that fix code in terminal....and it said "no such file or directory"...so it's not a DivX problem
Please help....I need my PB for work ASAP!!
Any suggestions?

What size is the Hard Drive, and how much space is available?
How much of the 512 MB RAM, is original, and how much is added?
What peripherals do you have connected? A keyboard, mouse, printer, external drive or modem, router, etc?
Insufficient available space, can cause this issue, as well as system corruption, and possible data loss.
Depending on Mac system usage habits, it is a general recommendation, to keep 10% to as much as 20%, of the Total capacity, available at all times.

Is the Mac shutdown overnight, or does it run 24/7?
Have you ever run any routine Maintenance procedures?
If you turn the PowerBook off nightly, the Background Maintenance Tasks, are never run.
These can also be run, using a Third-Party utility, or manually using Terminal, to run the CRON Commands.
I use MacJanitor, when necessary.
INSTRUCTIONS TO RUN CRON MANUAL COMMANDS
Quit all applications/programs.
Navigate to HD > Applications > Utilities.
Double click on Terminal, to open.
At the prompt, type:
sudo periodic daily
Press Return.
Enter your Admin password when prompted, then press Return.
This will execute the daily script that is sheduled to run every night.
When completed, repeat this procedure, but change the command to:
sudo periodic weekly
This one rebuilds a database or two, and usually takes somewhat longer to complete. It is scheduled to run once a week.
Repeat again, with command:
sudo periodic monthly
Or they can all be run in one pass, which is preferable, with this command:
sudo periodic daily weekly monthly
When the tasks complete, and return to the prompt, you may quit Terminal.
Restart the Mac, and run Repair Permissions.
TO REPAIR PERMISSIONS ON THE STARTUP DISK
1.Open Disk Utility, located in Applications/Utilities, and select the startup disk in the left column.
2.Click First Aid.
3.Click Verify Disk Permissions to test permissions or Repair Disk Permissions to test and repair permissions. (I never "Verify". Just run "Repair".)
When "Repair Permissions" is complete. Quit "Disk Utility".

Animation runs when loaded not when it should ....

Hi, I have an edge animation placed in a Muse page. If I set the animation to run at 1500 pixels I expect the animation to play when the indicator reaches the top of the page. It doesn't however. It plays when loaded regardless of where the position of the animation is set to play with the T-bar thingy.
Any ideas or is it a small insect?

Do you mean that animation is somewhere down the page, so the animation should play when we scroll down/up the page when symbol is visible to users?
If not, what do you mean by "indicator reaches the top of the page"?

it. I've created the animated text but would like the jerkyness to
disappear and for it to run smoothly. I've tried using from 7 -23
frames but it didn't make a difference. I played with the frame
settings and it helped a little but didn't fix the problem.
Could anyone tell me how to tweek it so that the text float
smoothly accross the screen? I've read through the Fireworks Help
many times but couldn't find a topic dealing with this issue.

Laptop dropped - trying to run hard drive test in bios, but can't find

CAn someone tell me how to run a hard drive test in bios - I am not seeing it in the menu at the initial screen after hitting F2. Is there a disk I need to insert?

The BIOS doesn't provide a HD diagnostic. The BIOS is firmware and is limited to providing
basic functions like recognizing devices on the buss or providing the user the ability to
load software to the HD.

Imac gets grey screen and fan runs hard

When I try to turn on my computer I get a grey screen with an apple and the fan runs like crazy. Sometimes I just get a grey box saying I need to reboot in several languages. Along with the fan running. Other times I get the grey box and then a bunch of text behind it with the fan running. I have tried to reinstall Leopard twice and get the same thing. Any ideas?

Hi Jason - have you tried booting from your install disc and running Disk Utility?
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
If your drive has been repaired, boot from your internal and repair permissions.
You might also try resetting the PRAM

Fans running hard after repair of LCD

had the LCD screen repaired on my iMac (early 2009) last week.
now the fans are running much harder than they have before
I have performed the SMC reset, as per the troubleshooting guide, but it's had no effect.

Try an SMC Reset (SMC controls functions like fans.)
-Shut down the computer.
-Unplug the computer's power cord. (After shutting down, leave the computer unplugged for an hour or more)
-Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
-Release the power button.
-Attach the computers power cable.
-Press the power button to turn on the computer.
