My app icon became a white icon

I just reboot my iPod touch 4g from changing language , and my app icon all gone missing , it just show a white icon over there.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem ? thank you.
My iOS is 4.3.3

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • The date randomly changed and all app icons are white?!?

I updated my apps to their latest version and when the sync was done everything was fine, but somehow out of nowhere my date changed completely and all my app icons are white. Only apps that I did not update had their original icon. My ipod touch 2nd gen is not jailbroken. This happened once before, I updated my apps, and it went back to normal only for a few hours until it happpened again.
What is going on and how can I fix this?

    Hey!
Same thing happened to me! I took it into the apple store and they said its a glitch in the system and that it needed to be restored to original settings. You can do this from itunes, just don't restore from backup, set up as new.
He made a list of the apps I had to make sure he could download them again for me. It shouldnt be a problem with icloud but if you dont have it, i would recommend asking someone at the apple store to do it for you so you dont lose your apps.
Also, mine was great for a while after that but I have noticed that its back to changing the date. It only happens when I let my itouch's battery die completely so I try not to but it is still annoying when it does happen.
    hope this helps!

  • App icon has white background

    Hello,
Hopefully you can help me with the following problem. If I occasionally update my apps or a new app then install the app icon will have a white background. Can I get hurt ?.
    See picture for the result.

Your looking at a failed download. First try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.
If that doesn't work, go to sttings> general> usage> storage> manage storage (IOS 8)> look for the app, then delete and reinstalled.

  • Some of my app icons are white but the apps work

Some of my app icons have gone white but the apps actually work.  Any ideas what is going on?

    Heather,
Try a hard reset of the iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

What in the world is a "bait white A"?

  • HT4623 Apps icon there is a blank white box.

When I go to my Apps icon there is a white box in the middle of the screen and will no do anything. Like it is stuck or something.

This is just a guess, but there may be a problem with an extension. Does it happen in [[safe mode]]? To access safe mode in Firefox 4 beta, click the Firefox button, select the Help sub-menu and choose "Restart with Add-ons Disabled".
If the glitch disappears in safe mode, follow the procedure in the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article to identify the culprit.

  • Some of my purchased apps icons are missing. how do i get them back on my ipad?

On my ipad, some of my purchased apps icons are missing. The app store indicates that the apps were purchased so i cannot install them again.  How do I get the icons back?

    - Are the apps missing or are the icons white?
    - If missing have yu tried using the Spotlight search and trying to find them?
    - Have you tried downloading them on your iPad and then syncing?
    - Have you tried deleting them on the computer and then syncing?  That might also delete them from the iPad so you can redownal them
    - Have you tried reetting the iPad?
Reset iPad:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Where is the App icon for HD 1080p Video? From the online photos it should be separate from the camera App.

Where is the App icon for HD 1080p Video? From the online photos it should be separate from the camera App.
It's supposed to have a blue background with 1080p in white, while inside there is a white camera with the letters HD in blue.
I cannot find this App icon. Where is it located? It was supposed to be preinstalled.
    Thanks.

    There is no app.
It is the camera.  Just take video with the camera.

  • I touch an app icon - it enlarges to full screen size as if loading but 1 second later shrinks back to normal icon size. This happens with every app - nothing loads - please help if you can, I'd be very grateful !  Paul

I touch an app icon - it enlarges to full screen size as if loading but 1 second later it shrinks back to icon size. All the app icons do this - I can't load anything !  If anyone can help I'd be grateful - thanks - Paul

Hi Paul, first you must check you multitaskbar from the phone. Press the Homebutton twice and you see a litte new bar. There you see all open apps. Hold your finger on one app until they shake and a red dot appear in the left corner of every app. Close all apps and restart your phone. If that won´t help make a reset from the iphone.
Press sleep/wake and home button for 10 sek at the same time until a white apple comes up.
If the issue still persist try to do a restore from your iphone

  • After installing the Security Update 2015-002 many system app icons have switched. How can I fix this?

I Installed the Security Update 2015-002 on March 13 on my 13-inch Macbook Pro (mid 2010) running Yosemite. However after it rebooted many of the system app icons have switched places. For instance: The delete button in finder has the icon for Full Screen (while others are just plain white). And the button for New Message in Mail now shows a search icon. Please see screengrab below.
IS there a way to fix this mess without having to manually change all this?

I have some new info on the issueI thought I'd share with you.
First of all, I've installed Photoshop CC on my SurfacePro (Windows 8) and do not have the lag issue there. It's very similar hardware to my MacBook Pro. So the issue must have something to do with my MacBook.
After a lot of tinkering I discovered that it is my 27" Thunderbolt Display that is causing the brush lag. When I unplug it and only use my built in 13" screen the brush lag is gone. Aha!
I tried every available option in the Performance section but nothing helped. Again, Photoshop CS5 with attached Thunderbolt Display doesn't have a brush lag issue.
I'd be interested to know everyone else's setup who is experiencing this problem.

  • My app icons are blank

My app icons appear as white boxes with the app names underneath it.  What can I do to fix this?

If that doesn't work, unsync and resync the apps from your iPod via iTunes.

  • Packaging app icons

I'm trying to package my Flash Building app for iOS with custom graphic app icons, but having no luck--I'm only getting the generic white icons.  I've followed as best I can every tutorial I can find, and it seems pretty stright forward.  I'm made an assets directory for all required versions of the icon PNG files, placed that assets folder into the src, put the source path to each PNG file within the application XML file, and made sure that these assets are included in the Package Contents.  I've also tried packaging the file in both "fast" and "standard" modes.  No difference, I only get the generic white icons.  What else can I do?

  • Badge app icon in settings is on, but no update is available. Why?

The notification came on when the last update became available, I updated, but the badge app icon still has a red 1 in the Settings icon. Any way to reset this?
    Using iOS 6.1.3

No, updated by plugging it into the computer using iTunes. Let the update file take up space there rather than on my phone.
So, restore I guess is the only option probably? I guess that or wait for the next iOS update and see.

  • App icons on screen versus access through app store

I have apps that I can access through the app store on my Ipad by typing in the name of the app.  The icon does not appear on my screen like the rest of my app icons do.  How do I get them onto my screen so I don't have to go through the app store each time I want to open the app?

All of the apps you can find with Spotlight Search are on your phone.  You just haven't figured out where they are   First, a "missing" app could be on a screen you're not aware of.  Swipe to the left and check carefully until you have seen all screens.  You can tell how many by the little row of white dots just above the dock (row of icons at the bottom of the screen).  Second, a "missing" app could have accidentally been put into a group.  Look for icons that contain smaller icons.  Tap, and it will open to show you the apps within.  To bring an app out of a group, tap and hold any app until a little red circle with an "x" appears at the top left and the icons begin to shake.  Tap and hold, while you drag the app out of the group.  You can also rearrange your screens this way.

  • Weird E app icon just showed up

So, all of a sudden there is an app icon with a large 'E' on it. Grey background with an off white letter. It doesn't open anything and I can't delete it. I can't find any other settings for it anywhere on the iPad.
