  • How do you stop apps from running on the iPad with the new ios7?

How do you stop apps from running on the IPad with the new ios7?  I have an app for animation that pops up a message to stop other apps from running.  If I press onto a app and it starts shaking there are no -, just x's.

    Close inactive apps
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
    3. The app will fly off the screen

  • Clock running slow on iPad

The clock on my iPad is running about 12 minutes slow yet clocks running in apps are at the correct time. Any ideas?

How slow? Many users have reported hours or days ahead or behind on iOS4. I have read on other posts that doing a full restore fixes the problem. Here is how:
    To do a full restore:
    - Start iTunes and plug in your device.
    - Under Devices, click on your device.
    - On the Summary page there are two buttons: 'Check for Update' and 'Restore'.
    - Click Restore.
    - The system will back up your device, then reset it to factory specs, then restore from the backup. This takes QUITE a while, depending on how much stuff you have on there.
Doing this seems to have solved the problem for me. I haven't had it randomly change the time in the 6 days since I posted my message.

  • No apps will run on my iPad except built-in ones

I just was using my iPad this morning... checked news, a few other things. All was fine. I just picked it up and tried to run 1password and it quickly blinks then sends me back to the main screen. I now try run any 3rd party apps and they all do the same thing. None of them will run, they all just flash, then send me back where I was. Apple built-in apps all work just fine, iTunes, email, safari etc.
I have powered down and back up the iPad, tried a reset (not a data reset).
Note: I just fixed this by installing a new app. Just grabbed a free app out of the app store and installed it, now everything works fine. But is this a bad sign or just some random bit of data that was corrupted?

Sounds like a random thing since it's working now. If it does it again, you may want to do a restore.

  • Mac App store running slow in lion

Since I install Lion (clean install) on my Mac Pro 2009 the Mac App Store in very slow and each time I click on an item I see the beachball. Everything aside the App Store is running fast and smooth. Anyone with the same problem ???
    Thanks !
    Olivier

I'm guessing it's because the MAS has been seeing increased traffic since Lion came out. I'd imagine that tens of thousands of people downloading it every hour is putting a strain on the system. I myself am seeing the same problem.
If the problem persists for you, contact Apple Technical Support.

  • Videos run slow on ipad

    Hi Guys,
Could you please help me. On my iPad video gets stopped while being played. Then i need to close the browser or youtube app to restart the video. It's very annoying as i need to keep it doing again and again. I have even tried youtube in safari bit better but stops again.
    Any guidance is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jaspreet Singh

The videos will only stream/download as fast as your Internet connection allows. A lot of factors can contribute to download speed or a lack of it.

  • Apps are running slow since windows 10 update, facebook, solitaire etc.

Like most people I went through the lengthy process of updating to Windows 10 yesterday. The update went smoothly. The problem I am having is that the embedded solitaire games from the start menu are hanging and running very slow. Also, sad as it sounds, some of the games on facebook are also very juddery and slow. I have checked to make sure I havent got too many things running in the background but nothing changed. Anyone got any  ideas?

    Are you worried about malware?

Sharing your Mac with other family members, but keeping your work stuff separate?
Worried about your Mac being stolen and someone gaining access to your data?

  • My ipod touch 4g has been running really slow, lagging, and a ton of apps are running slow and crashing, does anyone know what's wrong?

Its not jailbroken, does anyone know whats wrong?

Did you try to reset the device by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device, explained here:
How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Since updating my IPAD 4 to IOS 7 my wifi seems to be running slower. At the same time it seems to be using less power. I wonder if Apple have tweaked the processor speed or something. Any ideas?

Since running IOS 7 on my IPAD 4 I have noticed that safari or Google APP are running slower. When loading data there is a noticeable delay in the 'bar' running across the screen. The IPAD also seems to be lasting longer between charges. I wonder if Apple have tweaked how the processor is being used for wifi.

Same issue on my 9 month old IPad4. Turned of all the new fancy additions but no real increase in speed.
One thing I noticed when I  installed IOS7 was that my free space Immediated jumped from 17Gb on IOS6 to 18.5Gb.
I then noticed the much slower performance. On IOS6 my pad performed so quickly it often brought  a smile to my face, now I'm watching and waiting while it staggers along loading a page(. Fibre Broadband 45mb/sec so no hold up there and this on my usual browsing sites so it's not their servers ) .
I'm wondering whether Apple have increased the compression of the system files, so they take longer to unpack - or is am I clutching at straws. Anyone else notice extra space after update.

Sure, they will give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod and purchase a new one.
Have you tried the stand fixes for your iPod:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • Late 2007 MBP Running Slow

I've been noticing lately that my MBP is running slow. It took 2 and a half minutes to load to my desktop after pressing the power button. A month ago, this computer would be to the desktop in 35-45 seconds. I have a 120gb HDD, There is still 35gbs free, so it's not like I'm using the HDD to full capacity. It is a 2.2GHz Dual Core processor with 2gbs of RAM, it shouldn't be going this slow after having it for 11 months.
It takes about 25 seconds for firefox 3 to load up and about 45 seconds for iTunes to load. My friend was over my house and he was surprised by the sluggishness of my computer. He also has a MBP (an older version actually) and his doesn't run this slow.
Any suggestions on how to get my computer back to speed?

This will certainly not be any help, but I'm experiencing the same thing. I have an original MBP, 2.0GHz Core Duo, maxed out to 2GB of RAM. It's almost excruciating how slow it is. When I got it, it would boot in about 29 seconds. Right now I'm up to over 2 minutes to boot. My apps are running slower than ever, and multitasking is almost out of the question.
My next step is to downgrade back to Tiger. That's on my list of things to do this week, so I'll try to post back at how things go.
I'm having eerie flashbacks to my Windows days. Yikes.

  • My iPad 2 had trouble updating an app and now seems to be running slower

Earlier this evening, my iPad 2 had an app update notification for words with friends hd free.  I clicked the update but everything stalled.  It took forever to update the app and now my entire iPad seems to be running slow.  I have tried resetting it, updating it to 4.3.2 and nothing seems to work.  Should I perform a factory restore?

The whole iTunes store had issues all day, nothing was downloadable (video, apps, etc).
It had nothing to do with your iPad.
A reinstall should still put you at 4.3.2.
