My app store id is different to the id i use due to my phone belonging to someone else before me and it doesnt let me change it even though im signed into app store on my id and when i want to update something it asks for the ex owners password

All purchases through iTunes are locked to the Apple id used to purchase them ( the original owner )

apple id was originally disabled. I reset my password and can sign into my apple id account. But when i want to buy an app in the app store it says my apple id is disabled again.
It's real easy to create a new one and, in fact, it's too easy. I say that because multiple IDs are a PIA. The problem is that anything obtained from the iTunes Store is PERMANENTLY associated with the ID that was used to obtain the item(s). iTunes items can not be transferred from one ID to another and IDs can not be merged.
The problem arises when you want to update an app. If you're doing it from iTunes on your computer, you must log out and back in to get to the correct ID. Then you update and log out/in again to get back to where you started. It's slightly easier if you update from the iPad/iPod device as there is no need to log out/in BUT you still need the correct password for the appropriate ID. Of course, with a disabled ID, the problem is much worse!
A replacement Apple ID makes sense ONLY if you wish to start out absolutely brand new with zero iTunes Store purchases.
If you're really butting your head aginst a wall and you're reasonably close to an Apple Store, my suggestion is that you make an appointment with the resident "Genius" and get his/her help.
One last thought... If your brother actually got a human on the phone to dispute the charges, go there and explain the problem. Of course, if Apple did not accept his explanation of what occurred, that could be the whole issue. Apple believes that money is owed on the account! -
I have a lot of money on my Apple ID but when I try to buy something it ask for my security questions that I do not remember the answers to. I also don't have access to the email I used to set up my Apple ID but I do know the password how do I fix this ?
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

i used time machine to reinstall all products on a new imac machine. everything seems to be installed but when i open aperture it asks for my serial # and when i put it in it says that is your upgrade serial.. we want the original serial #. that box is long gone, how do i find that serial #

If you have a balance, how do you spend the rest of it with out having to put in your credit card info?
Among other things iTunes uses your credit card to confirm that you are a resident of the same country as the store you are using. Occasionally it may ask for you to confirm the details and "prove" the card by putting on a holding charge which it later releases. If you have credit in the store that should be applied to any purchases first, even if iTunes asks you to confirm your details. Your listed credit in the window can become out of date if you use more than one computer or device to make purchases. Signing out of your account, then back in, should refresh the balance.

I just updated the iPhone iOS. I get the Hello Screen. It asks me to choose a WiFi. Then it takes me to a login but it has the WRONG AppleID listed. I changed the AppleID months ago. I do not have the password for the old ID, and I have no access to that email account to reset it. What the heck do I do? I can't get past this step.
UPDATE: Problem solved! Just got off the phone with Apple support. It only took all of about 10 minutes tops to fix, which was great. I think it was relatively painless because I never changed my password. Even when I changed email addresses/Apple IDs, my password never changed. So if there was an old password that you no longer remembered associated with the old Apple ID, I imagine that could be trickier.
These were the steps:
Settings --> Messages --> Send & Recieve --> tap old Apple ID --> Sign Out
Settings --> Facetime --> Send & Recieve --> tap old Apple ID --> Sign Out
Settings --> Messages --> Send & Recieve --> log-in with current Apple ID
Settings --> Facetime --> Send & Recieve --> log-in with current Apple ID
Settings --> iTunes & App Store --> he had me verify that it was showing my current Apple ID, which it was, so we didn't need to mess with anything there
Settings --> iCloud --> it was still showing the old Apple ID and wouldn't let me change it (it was grayed out), so he had me scroll down and Delete Account. This is where I think I needed to enter my password, but fortunately it was the same as always, so no problem there.
-- Select "Keep data on my iPhone" or something like that
Then:
Settings --> iCloud --> log-in with your current Apple ID/iCloud account.
-- Select "Merge" so it syncs everything up.
All done!

My AppStore id is my apple id n password which is good when purchasing. But when I am updating from update option it ask for a password. The user id I see there is not mine, it's different. I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.
