My mac keeps locking up it s Power mac G5 Intel using 10.6.8 OS.X. I get no warning or error messages it just locks up and the only way to get it to work again is to depress power button and restart. Its random intermittent and incredibly frustrating. I do get some screen distortion from time to time and wondered whether it may be a graphics card issue or whether it could be solved with a complete system re-install and OS upgrade?

According to everymac.com, your Mac came with Tiger, 10.4.x and can't go any higher than Lion, 10.7.x.
It would have come with gray, machine specific disks. Since there's no reason to install 10.4.x first, and then Snow Leopard over that, just purchase a retail copy of Snow Leopard for $20. What you won't get with the retail version of SL is the iLife suite (Garage Band, iDVD, etc.) that were on the original bundled disks, but you can purchase iLife on Amazon pretty cheap, and get newer versions besides.
When you get Snow Leopard, you can boot to the DVD, erase the drive and install everything clean. Hopefully, you issue is only software, and not hardware related.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.

I can import other songs from his library. The same songs cause me a problem each time I try. My husband had no trouble importing the same songs I have trouble with. I get the same error message if I try to import the same songs from my husbands computer as well. "Command I" appears to show the same protections on both the songs I can import & the ones I cannot. My husband and son are both running OS 10.6, while I am running 10.7. I think I had this problem even before I upgraded, but I am not certain.

My first suggestion is to Repair Disk. Here's how:
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior

that might be a reason. Don't worry it will turn on after some time, try connecting it to your computer or charger and see if it helps!!...

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Not fully au fait with iCloud. I don't use it. But if you have done a backup to iCloud then this might help. This reply will refresh your post thereby giving others an opportunity to comment. Thanks for the suggestion, the next step was to call Apple, who gave me a claim number, which I discovered you must have to get anything done with them. They refered me to a Apple store or repair center, after some reseach took it to the Computer Store in Mobile, Alabama and they were excellent. They took pictures of the screen with bug submitted it to Apple who denied the claim but they kept kicking it up to the next level and finally Apple agreed to sent new cover. The Computer Store had the cover the next day, they changed it out and now I am bug free. If your in the area of Mobile Alabama you can feel good about getting help from the Computer Store. For the two folks that responded to my note, Thank You, good comments and good advice.

Hello, I have an iPod touch 5th gen and it continuously loses its wifi connection and also it doesn't show the usage status in the settings. It's got the 6.1.2. Software. Any idea as to what could be the problem?
