My Apple ID account not showing up in iMessage
I recently got an iPad mini. When I open iMessage, the option to connect my Apple ID account with my iMessage is unavailable. What can I do?
Go to Settings > Messages and see if it allows you there. If you do not see it there, tap "Send & Receive". If you are currently signed in with an Apple ID, it will show it in this section. You can sign out by tapping the Apple ID.

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

My Apple TV does not show up under devices, and more.
Okay, firstly, I am relatively new to Apple ptoducts. I was recently purchased an Apple TV and a 27 inch iMac by my lady. And yes, I realize how amazng she is. She bought me these gifts to ensure that the last two and the next 4 months go by smoothly. I was struck by a car while it was doing 65+ mph, than struck again by the same car, than ran over and jumped off of. Yeah.... So needless to say I have severe brain damage, lost memory, a leg that is now 52% titanium and worse, I can not use my right arm.... for now, it may recover with the next two years. so, I tell you this for a little "guilt" but mostly to excuse the formatting of this email. It was typed entirely on my iMac and entirely using one hand, and not my primary hand at that.
I am not new to iTunes, I had a few purchases before this issue. Between those purchases and my Apple TV "FUN" I have amassed quite a few: Seasons of TV and Movies.
1: When I log in to my Apple TV, I can see all of the purchases that I made using both the Apple TV and those that I made previously using iTunes on my Windows based PC. All is well. They are organized by type and sorted perfectly. That plus they stream quicky and completely.
2: When I turn on my iMac and start iTunes, I do not see my TV seasons or Movies under the "Library" section on the left side of my iTunes screen. I see the options, they are simply empty. I see no content listed within them.
3: I can however select the "Purchased" option under the "Store" section on the left hand side of the screen. Once inside that options area, I can click on "Download Previous Purchases" in the lower right hand corner of the screen. From there I can see all of my purchased TV and Movies, including those that I had previously purchased on my old windows PC and those purchased recently on my Apple TV set. That and I can download them and make them available to my iMac version of iTunes.
5: I am unable to see my Apple TV listed under the "Devices" section. I also do not see the "Devices" section at all, however I assume that is because it is currently emty.
QUESTIONS:
A: Can you stream data such as TV seasons or Moies while using iTunes on an iMac. Similar to the way that you stream them from your iTunes purchase histor while viewing them on an Apple TV? Or do I need to download them inorder to view them?
B: Is Apple TV shown under connected devices while it is connected to the Wi-Fi netwok? I can see my Iphone under devices when I connect it with a cable to my iMac. So I know that my devices section is working. I simply fear that my Appl TV is not showing up brcause of existing issues.
NOTES:
A: All of my devices are updated with the latest available drivers.
B: My Apple TV, iMac and iPad all work on the same Wi-Fi network. That and they are all connected to the same iTunes account.
C. My lady is using a different login for the iMac. Her iTunes is setup but is not usng my iTunes account, it is using her account and has access to her DATA. When I log in to the iMac, my iTunes is working and is different from the iTunes that is operating under her username.
Ok Guys..and Gals please help me out. The thing is, none of this is truly effecting me in a substantial manor. I can see my purchase history, I can download parts of it to my iMac via iTunes, and my Apple TV is smoooooooth. I mainly need clarification on the questions that I asked. Can I stream using the iMac, should I see my Apple TV under devices, and why do I not see my DATA under the library section of iTunes?

I have records both police and medical to prove this. The one way I had to have any initial memory of my friends and family was in that phone. I still have that phone, I always will. RESPONSES:
1) When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2) I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3) So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

I work in the computer support section for the Military. The only problem is we use Windows , lol. Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover. I go back next month though I hope. But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein. Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself. -
HT204268; I have purchases on an aol login pre 2008 and all recent stuff under an apple id. I currently see and use everything when i login with the apple id. After March 31st will my apple id account still show and contain all?
I understand the instructions to create a new account id (apple id) from the old aol account. However, does this mean my purchases will be split into 2 accounts; or does the fact that I currently see everything under my apple id (regardless of the purchased by username) mean this will all still appear in my current account as it does now?You see them where when you login your non-AOL account ?
If you currently have two accounts (the AOL username account and an email address account) then you will continue to have two accounts, and nothing should change when you update the AOL account to be an email address (apart from how you access that account).
You will just be renaming the account to have an email address for accessing it, not creating a new account. -
My Apple TV is not showing any of my rentals at all. Even the category is missing completely. I have reset several times yo no avail! Anyone know what to do?
Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals. -
My Apple TV will not show my photos in iPhoto on my iMac in the same sequence of images that I can see when viewing the iPhoto photos on my iMac. This is especially frustrating when I try to show my travel pictures in sequence on my TV. I have to resort to showing them on my iMac which defeats the principle purpose for purchasing my MacTV. Does anyone have a solution?

Doug MayI can't recall whether slideshows are ordered by title or date, but you can manually re-arrange the albums in iPhoto, then batch change them once you have the order you want.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I assume you have the Apple TV 1.
Often a restart of ALL your equipment will help, it may also be a result of instaling or updating security software (check your security settings).
If problems persist, navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted. -
i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. Why do Apple Mail attachments not show in SENT?
I use Mountain Lion OSX10.8.2 on a 27" iMac/1TB HD/12GB RAM.
When I write an Apple Mail email and attach a jpg (for example),
I am never sure if the attachment was sent.
Apple Mail will not show me in SENT that there was an attachment.
There is no record of the attachment on the previous sent email.
Am I missing something? How the heck am I suppose to know if
ANY attachment was sent or not?Hmm I thought this got sorted out in 10.8 but maybe not.
I asume you are in full screen, with the three column view?
If you change to classic you should see the attachment paper clip?
What I had to do for a work-a-round was create a "rule." Even with this you have to right click the selected sent box>> apply rules

I have a first Genreation iPAD and just a new Apple TV, 3rd Generation. The Apple TV does not show the Internet menu option after booting up.
There isn't one.

Apple map is not showing the paths between two locations as shown in the previous version.
The current Maps app in iOS 6 is from Apple. It is beta software with known issues. The previous Maps app in iOS was from Apple, but used Google as the map resource. There is now a new Maps app from Google available in the iTunes App Store.

Address Book > Accounts not showing sync options. - just a blank panel to right of "On My Mac". Cause could possibly be that I imported current contact list from vcf export of AB. Anyone any toughts on how can I retrieve the syncing options?
Don't take what I have to say as fact, because I don't use a Mac and could be mistaken. I remember reading last night something about people taking and checking the box on the Summary page of iTunes to replace the info on the iPhone with the computer. Once that was done, it seemed to correct this issue and showed the address groups after that.
It might be worth the experiment, however I would make sure I had a backup of the phone before I tried it. I know it was only the last day or show that I read it, so if you want to search the forum before you try it, be my guest. I don't want to ruin anything for you, but I just remember reading that someone did that and it fixed it.

Here is a troubleshooting resources I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
Phone number missing on iPad or iPod touch
If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.
If your phone number still isn't listed, follow these steps:
Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, including your iPhone, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At and Settings > FaceTime.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your other iOS devices.

HT3529 Contacts on iPhone 5 not showing up as iMessage
I have an iPhone 5 and just noticed that some contacts that are iOS users are not showing up as iMessages on my phone. I received an iMessage on my MBP, but didn't receive it on my iPhone because according to my iPhone, they are not iMessage users. I have all the iMessage configs correct. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Here is what I've tried.
Deleting the iOS phone # from contacts and readding it as "iPhone" phone number.
When I go to create a new message from my phone to this #, it is still sending as text and not iMessage.You cannot view files on iPhone using the Mac.
Everything goes through Mac iTunes.
The main problem I would like to fix is to be able to locate my device on my computer but I would also very much appreciate information on how to fix the syncing problem.
Just click Sync button again in Mac iTunes with your iPhone connected and selected.
