My Apple ID changed and now my apps wont update

Recently my Apple ID was changed from chunkster92 to [email protected] Now my apps wont update because they are looking for my original Apple ID of chunkster92.
When I look at the info block on the apps they indicatre that they are linked to an Apple ID of chucnkster92. Apple wont let you have tan ID thats not an email address anymore. So when the apps are trying to update they are looking for my old account of chunkster92 and not the account name format as Apple wants now of [email protected]
When I look at the apps page in iTunes and selct "all" apps at the top of the page, it indicates at the bottom of the page available. When I try to update the apps the next screen says that there or no updates available. I'm signed into iTunes as [email protected] and not chunkster92 which is the account the apps are looking for.
Short of deleting all 230 apps (I know, I could reduce that number some) and reloading them, how do I change the apps to look for [email protected] or reestablish my old ID of chunkster92?

Haven't much problem with Airs around here, since they have a SSD they tend to be more reliable.
Perhaps it was a bad update, have you ran through this list of possible fixes?
Do as many as possible, starting with #1. Until the problem is resolved.
Use the boot 10.6 USB instead of the disk of course.

Out of curiosity.
You downloaded one new app and that fixed all the rest of your apps?
Resetting your iPod Touch will not lose any data.
Only restoring may cause you to loose data.

IOS upgrade forced an Apple ID change. Now my Apps are Broken!

Hi all, after 25 years of using macs I've finally encountered something that isn't intuitive!
I have had the same Apple ID for about 7 or 8 years, however when I upgraded my iPhone to ios5 a couple of months ago I could not get past the upgrade process because my Apple ID was being rejected. All my other Macs and iPad were still logged in to the iTunes Store so I couldn't understand why. However it looks like iOS5 requires the User Name to now be an email address. I could no longer use my perfectly functioning existing User Name, and instead had to change it to be my email address, which I did online with the account management function of the Apple Website.
However now it appears that my previous Apps are no longer considered part of my account. I've just bought a new iPad and wish to migrate my old iPad, account and Apps to it, however most of my Apps are not listed if I attempt to 'sync' Apps. How can I get it all to unify again? thanks!

To answer my own question, to get around the problem I didn't auto-sync my Apps in the end! I just manually selected the ones I wanted and tried to duplicate what I had on my old iPad. A bit hit-and-miss and very time consuming, as I had my iPad set up in a very particular way. It's a shame because migration assistant on my macs allows me to clone every last setting to my new macs - docs, apps, system, desktop, the lot. Why can't the iPad be the same!

Recent update to 10.6.8 and now Finder app wont open. Error 10810

I cannot open finder after a recent update. I get one error messages such as The application Finder can't be opened. - 10810.
On reboot I get nothing but "finder quit unexpectedly"
Can anyone help? Im pretty much a novice and only recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and now Im pretty much dead in the water without the Finder app.

Followed the directions on the Snow Lepoard disc. Then did updates to bring it up to the 10.6.8
Unfortunately I did not backup first. I thought Time Machine could help but it wont open either.
Not sure what to do now. Should I try to re-install snow leopard?

I am in the UK and eventually found the problem was due to my BT Home Hub Router. Not sure where you live, but of you are in the UK, this might work for you.

There's an issue related to the BT homehub that is providing a hostname that is "syntactically incorrect" for several smtp server.
Here's how you can fix it.
Using your internet browser, go to the address "192.168.1.254
- Follow instructions to reset your password if asked.
- Then go to "Settings", then "Advanced Settings" and "home network"
You will see there all the devices that are connected or that has been connected before. It's gonna be easyer if yout computer is the only one connected.
Your computer should have a name like "unknown-xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ...
Click on this name, chose another name without any special characters, like "macbook" for exemple.
And then click on "apply"
- restart your computer.
That should fix the issue.

If you are trying to change the iCloud ID on yoru phone from an old ID ("email address") to your current ID, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I changed my apple ID password and now facetime cannot verify my e-mail address. I have tried changing my password back but still recieve the same pop up window telling me that the email could not be verified and to check my network but have wifi working

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

If the Preference Pane hangs, hit comand-option-escape and force quit System Preferences to avoid having to reboot.
In order to sign out you need the original password if you have set up 'Find My ....'. However you can't now change the password back to the original one (as you are not allowed to re-use a password).In this situation only Support can help you.

- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
