My Apple ID is valid but My icloud account does recognize it. I've had iPod touch for two years

I've had I iPod touch for two years and have find my iPhone on it. I've lost it and now when I try to look for it it says my Apple ID is valid but does not have an icloud account. Like I said I set it all up when I first got it and use it a few times why won't it work now and is there some way to reassociate it with my ID. Is there somewhere my info is stored?

Do you another Apple device that is eligible for an iCloud account and is using that iCloud account?

I suspect not and that the iPod has been restored and thus your account removed for the iPod. Then you iCloud account was deleted since you not longer have a device using it.

You can only uncheck the cell phone number. The only way to delete it is to use for FaceTime and Messages an Apple ID not associated with the iPhone.

I'm using iPod touch for a year now. It was doing fine this morning but in the afternoon suddenly when I took it out of my bag, the screen was just black and it wouldn't turn on and stuff. So I thought it didn't have battery so I charged it didn't work. I plugged to the computer and it said iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before in can be used with iTunes.
Maybe my bag was little wet today but i don't think that is why.. since it wasn't that bed.. just some paper was wet and stuff..
What should I do..? Please help me.

I was, and still getting, the 'valid id but icloud account' but got an idea from another forum how to solve this issue. I have a PC running Windows 7 (updated today) and wanted to set up Outlook 2010 to send and receive my iCloud mail. Outlook could not find the server information on its own. A forum mentioned Mobileme. Before I set up my iCloud account i was prompted to sign out of Mobileme. Now that I have an iCloud account, signed in on Mobileme and it started to 'migrate' the account info and suddenly the iCloud settings panel appeared. I click Mail and Contacts. It set up my Outlook. During the set up you can select to have the iCloud icon appear in the system task bar. I recommend you select that option because you can access the setting panel from that icon. If the Mobileme is no longer on your compter, you can still download it via Apple's support page. This is what worked for me, but I should repeat this did not solve the sign in issue. Since I had this problem on 2 computers, I tend to agree with those who believe this an Apple server problem.

This has been bugging me for since the release of IOS 7, as I use this iPad as a student. I have thought of an number of options:
1. Upload everything to dropbox.
2. Delete some files from icloud.
3. Delete the whole iCloud data and then back up what's left on the iPad 2.

I believe I am in the same boat with you on this.
From what I have read and the thought process that I have, by deleting the current iCloud back up. It will remove whatever you have currently. Then you can go through and clean up your device (deleting certain photos, personal data from apps, etc) and then create a new back up image for iCloud which will be a capture of your current device. Then proceed forward with the iOS7 upgrade.

If your Creative Suite version is #3 through 6, you might try running the CS Cleaner Tools in preparation for a re-install.

I have an Apple ID but no iCloud account

I setup an apple ID and it is confirmed, but when I use that for the iCloud account it says the ID is an Apple ID but NOT an iCloud account? I can't configure how to set it to an iCloud account. Everywhere where it says iCloud I get prompt that it isn't a iCloud account but an AppleID and I get redirected to iCloud again and get ofcourse the same message again.

Did you already activate iCloud on your IOS device using that same apple ID?

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID. You can only sign into an existing account on a PC. You first have to create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

Usually if it says your Apple ID is not an iCloud account, that means you have not yet enabled your Apple ID as an iCloud account. So you did set it up correctly on your iPod touch?
If not yet, please see Set up iCloud on all your devices.
