My apple ID password isnt working on iphone

Whats up everyone,
Im trying to enter my Apple ID in my iPhone and when it prompts me for password it's saying my password is incorrect.
I download apps, use the same ID and password and it works. I logged into this forum with the same ID and it works. Why does it not work for iphone? any guesses?
I have an iPhone 4S with the latest OS.
I got the error when I went to settings-messages-send and receive

Seems like there is an issue with the appstore, which may be causing your issue.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

    Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  It's very hard to use an iPhone when it isn't backlit, so I would be concerned too.  I found some steps that might help with this:
    Display has no backlight or dark screen
    Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
    Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
    While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
    If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

    Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Tap your ID and sign out. Reboot your iPad.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Go back to the settings and sign back in again and see of it works now.
    If it doesn't work, post back with some information that might help us help you. Describe what you are doing in some detail and it might let us better understand why this is happening.

    It's probably looking for the Apple ID & Password you used to purchase Lion, or ML as the case may be.

    Tony,
    My first thought is to make sure that you are actually logged in using the same AppleID on both devices.  Many folks share one AppleID for their family's iTunes Store account yet use another personal AppleID to log into iMessage settings and iCloud settings.
    To confirm that the AppleID and password you are using is correct I would suggest visiting http://icloud.com and attempting to login there.  If you get in, then you know for sure that that is a valid AppleID/password pair.
    If that still doesn't reveal the issue then I would try opening Notes app on both iPhones, and then typing your password out where it can be seen clearly.  This may reveal if your are typing it differently due to iOS 8 changes in the shift key indicator, or possibly that a screen protector or case is causing your touches to not register the same on both devices.
    I hope these suggestions help.

    Hi, I'm trying to get some apps but when i try to get in to apple store it says cant connect but I have an iPhone 5c!? even if I have full wifi it still says that it won't connect.     If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
    Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
    Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
    Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
    Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.

  • Apple ID password not working for iCould (Lion 10.7.4).

    Every 30 minutes or so an alert featuring the iCloud icon requesting my Apple ID password. I enter my password correctly but it does not accept it and all buttons freeze. The only way to get out of the preferences is to force quit preferences which are "not responding". I also not able to access my preferences at at all. This happens every 30 minutes and is driving me crazy. Why did this start happening and how do I fix? Please help! Thank you!

    I think I might be on to something. I just tested a 32 image, portrait orientation stitch, and it worked just great.  (I didn't use lens correction and used auto, so yes there are distortions and the horizon appears off. It was a test so... )
    The images that won't stitch, are 6 in total, and 4 out of the 6 have a person in them. The person is mostly in the same position throughout the shots, but not totally the same.  The only other difference that I can note is that in both cases where the stitching worked, I did no post work in LR before stitching, whereas the ones that didn't work, I did touch them up before exporting to my hard drive. I'd be more inclined to think that PSE has an issue with the former than the latter.

    A friend of mine forgot her Apple ID's password, and the original e-mail's password too. She bought a new iPhone (5s), and backed up the old one so she would still have all her things on the new one. The problem is, it backed up the old Apple ID which she lost the access to, and now she cant use her new user because of that.
    What can we do to remove the old iCloud user and use the new one? Will a PWND DFU restore help?

    I can't log into iCloud on my iPhone to restore from iCloud backup, but my Apple ID and password works on Apple's website through a computer.
    Earlier, my Apple ID and password wasn't even working for logging into iTunes on my iPhone. That worked after another reset or two.
    I still can't restore my iPhone through iCloud backup. It says I have the wrong ID or password.

    Got it working!
    After fumbling around a bit more I opened up an express lane support ticket under
    "Unable to log in with MobileMe account"
    After speaking with a rep, they informed me that even though I had reset my password earlier that there was a glitch in the system that didn't propogate it to all the servers.  So we went through the process of resetting it again and now I'm successfully restoring from backup.  As a side note, Apple engineers have been notified of the issue and are looking into it.

    I am having the same problem, starting today (12/15). Here's a more complete description of my problem.
    About two weeks ago, I changed the email address associated with my Apple ID. The old address had been taken over by spammers, so it had to go. I followed the procedure in Manage My Apple ID, and everything seemed fine until today.
    I am running Yosemite, 10.10.1 on an elderly Macbook Pro (2009)
    I got a message saying I couldn't access iCloud and needed to log in in System Preferences. I tried logging in with my then correct password. After 3 tries I was locked out and told to use iForgot to reset my password. I used my recovery key and reset my password "successfully". My new password allows me to log into iCloud.com, iTunes on my Mac and on my iPhone 6, I am able to use my iCloud keychain on both devices, and I can log into Manage My Apple ID with the new password. I was also able to use the new password to log into iCloud on my iPhone. Access to iCloud drive from Pages appears to be working on my iPhone, but not on my Mac. I was also able to sign into the App Store on the Mac.
    However, in System Preferences, I cannot log into iCloud and I cannot log into my iCloud mail account (both appear to use the same login). I get a message saying I have been blocked for security reasons and I need to reset my password. This is exactly the state I was in when I went and changed my password so it appears that the change didn't get communicated to system preferences. Without iCloud access, my apps that use iCloud for storage and/or syncing with iPhone apps are of limited usefulness. This may be key to the problem or at least a clue: System Preferences still thinks my Apple ID uses the old email address not the one it was changed to. The only way I know to change the address is through Manage My Apple ID
    I tried rebooting by doing a full shutdown and restart, but it did not help. I also tried cursing at my Macbook but that did not help either.
    I can use iCloud.com for mail and Documents since it recognizes my password. But this is at best a temporary work around. I'm off to check other sources for help. I'll report back when I know more.
