Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

Apple TV 1st Generation synch crash with 10.4 iTunes/Lion

My Apple TV can no longer sync with this combination. It basically got totally wiped out after upgrading (Apple TV). I did a complete reset and restore to 3.0.2. When ATV comes up in my iTunes, it tries to automatically sync. I Stop it, and try a custom sync. As I am selecting the movies, photos, music, etc...the ATV disappears from my iTunes system.
I would like to go back to iTunes 3.0.1. Is there any way to do that? I upgraded to Lion with 10.4 iTunes and would hate to do a Time Machine restore, but will if I need to. Any way to uninstall 4 and get back to 3.0.2????

Are you trying to transfer stuff to iTunes from AppleTV or from AppleTV to iTunes.
Syncing of purchases from AppleTV to iTunes is no longer a necessity if your country supports purchases in the cloud - you should just be able to download old purchases from the internet in iTunes - go to the iTunes Store page with the home icon and look for the Purchased Quick Link on the far right.
If AppleTV is full and you want different content you will need to change the sync Settings in iTunes - you can sync manually which is what I preferred.

Apple magic mouse keeps losing connection with Macbook pro

I have a 2012 macbook pro, after upgrading to Mavericks(10.9.1, not have any other 3rd party software,just pure OS X), my magic mouse always losing bluetooth connection suddenly every one or two days. When losing connection, I found the bluetooth chipset type showing in macbook system information changed to unkown (FFFF). I have contacted with apple global support, and also have not gotten the solution. Just cleaning cache, and ect. but still didn't work.
When I downgrading the OS X to 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, same macbook, same magic mouse, work very well. Never happened lose connection issue during one and a half month. So, it should be a Mavericks bluetooth driver's issue, or something reletived.
Any body have some good idea in solving this issue?

I have the same problem with a 2007 MacBook Pro on Snow Leopard. As soon as I changed the mouse's batteries, it started losing connection every few seconds. The mouse came with Energizer batteries originally - they supposedly don't fit well, but the mouse worked fine. I exchanged them with Duracell, which gave problems. Now I have Varta batteries installed, they give problems too. The paper-trick doesn't work for me.
Quite franky, I think it's rediculous that a fancy €69,- wireless mouse is so fussy about batteries. It's impossible to work with it. Is this just another way for Apple to get people to buy their batteries? I think a mouse this expensive should accept any and all batteries. Please, Apple: fix it. Seems like a really simple matter. Just put longer and stronger springs in the contacts for the negative poles.

My apple magic keyboard keeps un-pairing with my computer.

My mom got the new iMac a while ago and she didnt want the magic mouse and keyboard so she gave them to me. I'v had them for several months with no problems and I'v become very fond of them for gameing. My out of town friend was in town yesterday and staying at his grandmothers house so i wnet over there with my macbook pro 13 inch, i did not bring my magic mouse or keyboard. When i came home i went to go play on my computor and i tryed typeing in my password on my magic keyboard but nothing showed up so i tried again, thats when my mom yelled from the other room that i was typeing on her computer. she turned her computer off and than i re-paired the keyboard with my computor and it worked fine for the rest of the night. When i got up this morning my mom asked me to carry her computer downstairs, i did and when i went up stairs to use my laptop i tryed to type my password in and it didnt work. i checked in system prefrences under the keyboard and it says it isnt paired with my computer. She is the middle of a very big project for work and id like to fix this problem.

EDIT: we just turned off bluetooth on her computer and that fixed it.

How do I copy a music file with artwork to a non Apple phone? Sometimes it works, sometimes not!

When I copy MP3 files from iTunes to my non-apple phone, sometimes the artwork goes with the the track and othertimes it doesn't. Anyone have an idea why this might be?

The problem is possibly a multiple tags issue... Generally iTunes will write out the tags when you make changes, but sometimes the changes are not apparent in Windows Explorer or third party programs because the files have multiple tags and iTunes only updates one of them.
Select the tracks in question in iTunes, right-click and use Convert > ID3 Tags > None, repeat at least twice, then use Convert > ID3 Tags > ID3v2.3. You will need to reapply artwork. As long as you've used the CreateFolderArt script first the artwork should still be in the folder, ready to be reinserted by the script after you've cleaned the tags.

It seems a lot of people are having this problem...you can try restarting your device, making sure Date & Time settings are on automatic, or changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8. However, most people posting about this problem have tried everything including data resets, restores, etc. and it doesn't seem to work. It seems to be an issue on Apple's end with the servers...hopefully they can resolve it quickly

TS2755 Since updating to ios6, I can no longer send text or pictures to non apple phones.

I am having no luck whatsoever texting from my iPad to a non apple phone. That includes pictures also. I have disabled imessage and rebooted and still no capable. Very frustrating.

You could never text using the Messages App with a non Apple Phone. Messages only works with other iOS devices so unless you were using a third party app, you never could text with a non Apple phone. Its impossible with the built in Messages app.

I tried to up date my iPhone 5s thru iTunes and got error statin iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. Saw a video on you tube to use rec boot. So I downloaded rec boot v1.3 to try and kick it out of recovery mode and my phone keeps on looping with the white screen and black apple logo after the blue screen. I tried kicking it out with tiny umbrella and nothing happens. I was able to put the phone back in recovery mode and try using tiny umbrella while still connect to iTunes and hit exit recovery mode. under log tab it says sending exit recovery request to model # of the phone and nothing happen. My last option is to restore to factory settings which I don't want to do cause I would loose every thing. Can some one tell me I'm doing wrong or how to fix it. I would be greatly appreciate it the help. Thanks in advance.

Its looping because the iOS is not bootable which is why the iPhone booted to the ROM recovery mode. Try using iTunes 12's 'Update' option when the iPhone is in recovery mode.

What have you done so far to try to fix it? I've tried rebooting several times and it did not work. Tried connecting to iTines but it does not recognize the iPhone.
My other iPhone 4s restarted successfully after the updgrade but some apps don't function properly. It automatically closes while in use.
Apple please help. I know it's the weekend but I need the other iPhone to work. Can't use sim with a diffrent phone because it's a micro sim!

This is so frustrating! I have an itunes store account, etc. I lost all my info when I had to "restore" my iphone.
I wasn't able to do the "restore" until recently, gosh it was about 6mos or more ago when my iphone died...
So, as I get older I am having memory problems and haven't been able to access my itunes account.
Obviously when I did the "restore" on my iphone I lost all my info with it... So, wanting to use my iphone for
music, games, etc. I had to create a new apple id, fine, but when I wanted to download a "free" app it says
my apple id hasn't been used with itunes so it keeps asking for credit card info.
I do not remember ever having to have a credit card before!
I am so frustrated... First it was not being able to access my account then having to create a new one, fine!
But now I can't download "free" content without credit card information!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! UGH!!!!!!!

If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note: You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.
