yeh me too. Everything seems to be working with my Thomson TG782T modem, it recognises the appletv on the wireless network, I can communicate with my itunes on my computer from the appletv menu system, my itunes library comes up on the appletv menu, but when trying to rent a movie it says that my password is not being recognised. Yet I can buy books from the itunes store using the same password from my ipad. I am at complete loss...my telecommunications company (Telstra) has no idea.
Do you think these little checks and changes to my password will help?

Mainly all I use my computer for is Itunes and the internet. Since my software is so old, I can no longer take music from itunes and put on my ipod and my safari browser closes out unexpectedly from certain website. Mainly I want to solve my Itunes/Ipod problem becausethats really all I need to do.
I have an iBook G4, 1.07 GHz PowerPC G4, 256 MB Built-In, Mac OS X 10.3.9
What can I do so I can utilize Itunes and my ipod without buying a new Mac????

Is the 1.07 GHz correct or should it be 1.0 GHz?
As the install disc is easier to locate and less expensive than Tiger 10.4.x, I suggest you upgrade to Leopard 10.5.x.
The iBook G4/1.0 GHz supports the Leopard System Requirements.
The posted RAM System Requirement is the bare minimum. For optimum performance, more is recommended.
The Full Retail Version, of the Leopard Install DVD, can be purchased at The Apple Store (U.S.).
If you know what to look for, a Full Retail Version, of the Leopard Install DVD, can also be purchased, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, FastMac, HardCore Mac, etc.
Be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.

The discs should look exactly like the images in the above links, and not say Upgrade, CPU Drop-in DVD, or "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - not to be sold seperately." on them.

I have the same problem: my D- Link DIR-655 router works perfectly and supports my MacBook, iPad, and iPhone, and I know and have verified the router password multiple times. The router is using "WPA/WPA2 Personal" security mode. When I try to initialize my brand-new out of the box Apple TV unit and enter my wi-fi router password, it says "There was a problem connecting to the network...There's a problem with your network connection. check your settings and try connecting again. (-3906)".
I've tried entering the router user password, admin password, even the per-shared WPA key, nothing works...tried changing the router password and using the changed value, that doesn't work either. Any help appreciated!

We did the setup at the Apple Store and ever since have had continual problems with the computer recognizing, or in this case NOT recognizing, his Apple ID. The ID and password have been changed 3 times now. Is this a computer problem, an iCloud problem, or what? Sometimes, your Apple ID is actually "username" instead of "[email protected]" Try putting the username of your email instead of the actual address, and see if that works?

I had a 7 year old macbook from which I transferred data successfully to the new macbook pro. The old laptop has been de-authorized and the new laptop has been given a new name. The apple TV recognizes the new name but continues to say: “unable to connect with new macbook.”

Yes, we've had the airplay turned on so we can mirror the computer on the TV. Nothing else to it then? That will work for us.

Which version of iPhoto do you have?
If you cannot update, for some reason, try to buy iPhoto. If you are lucky, it may show for free.
Backup your iPhoto library, if you do not have a current backup.
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the Applications folder, but do not empty the Trash, so you can put iPhoto back, if need be.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your current AppleID.
Open the main page "Featured" of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.
If it is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support to sort out the AppleID. Use this link: http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/

i Have had no issues with the setup until recently.

I got it to work for a little while yesterday by uninstalling Itunes the reinstalling but how many times do you have to do that?

I've tried this on multiple products so I believe its specific to iTunes not a particular device.

Same thing here- Get the email but nothing but the Inside featurette. It's really annoying. In fact I can't even download it normally using the check for available downloads feature! Every time I do that iTunes tries to download doubles of three Walking Dead episodes I've already downloaded. I don't want what I already have, I just want the new episode.
