My Apple TV is not recognizing my iTunes login
I've made sure my password and log in are correct and that my internet connection is set up correctly, but I get an error message saying can not connect. please try again later. What can i do to fix this issue?
I also recieved a few times a messagethat said cannot connect to apple server at this time.
Is that the Date and time server.
There have been a few recent issues with the date and time server and unfortunately it needs setting automatically.
Some have found that just waiting has resolved the issue, others a restart or a restore, others have resolved the matter by setting the time zone to automatic. Yet more have found their routers blocking port 123 and opening it has resolved the matter, finally others have found that setting DNS on both Apple TV and their routers to use only the address supplied by their ISP has worked.
Given the range of solutions, it seems there may have been issues at Apple's end, but some users have obviously had something wrong at their end too.
One more thing worth checking, your Apple TV IP address doesn't start with 169 does it.

My Apple TV is not recognized in iTunes
I cannot get AirPlay to work with my AppleTV in iTunes. I recently installed a new Time Machine and then reset my AirPort Express so that it could be used as an extension of my network. The Airport Express is recognized in iTunes, but the Apple TV is not. Help please!

My IPod Touch hangs on startup, doesn't go beyond the apple logo. Tried the reboot, doesn't help.
I'm thinking I need to restore the system, but it isn't recognized in ITunes either.
How do I force it to be recognized?- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow the restore.
- Next try DFU mode

Apple TV 3 not recognized in iTunes
Hi -
(ATV3, iOS 5.1, iTunes 10.6.x, Windows 7 64bit, wired ethernet - not wireless)
I recently installed an ATV 3 (replacing an ATV 1).
Everything seems to work fine (sharing, streaming, etc) however, I can't see the ATV 3 when I open iTunes.
My ATV 1 used to show up under "Devices" just like my iPod or iPhone.
The ATV 3 doesn't show up at all, even though everything works.
When I choose Edit > Preferences > Apple TV
I see "Apple TV - streaming" in the 'connected to iTunes' section.
Can anyone tell me:
1) Should I be able to see my ATV 3 under "Devices"?
2) Any idea why I can't even though everything works?
Thanks...Unlike the Apple TV 1, the Apple TV 3 does not showarp under devices in iTunes. You should however be able to see a small airplay icon in the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes window, when you click on this you should see your Apple TV there.

Ok, so here's the not so sad story. I bought an iPod Touch 2g 16g through Ebay - so forget warranties. Luckily I did not pay much. The description said it was stuck on the apple logo, so I figured it would be an easy put into recovery mode and restore problem.
Not so much.
If you plug the iPod in and charge up the battery the LCD will come to life after a while with the apple logo, then it displays the spinning wheel with the apple logo over it. That will last anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes, then the iPod will go blank for a few secs and then start up the cycle all over again.
As stated, this iPod will NOT enter either DFU or recovery mode and believe me I've tried it several times several different ways with different timings, connected via USB to a Mac, connected to a different Mac running Windows, and connected to just the charger. Nothing. Occasionally the screen might go blank while holding the power and home buttons but nothing else happens and then it starts it's usual cycle again.
Again, iPod NOT recognized by iTunes on either Mac or Windows side. Since I got off Ebay and seller didn't know much about it, I have no idea if someone tried to jailbreak this or not.
I will not put much money into this machine. So I guess my question is: does this behavior mean that the motherboard is clearly fried? Are there any software programs that might diagnose what the problem is? Could it be as simple as a fried battery?
And most importantly, is this iPod simply toast or is there anything anyone can suggest????
Really any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated. Seems a shame to just trash an iPod touch that might need a simple fix...
If it helps matters, I can tinker with iPods somewhat and have torn down and replaced several iPod touch 1g and 2g glass and digitizers with no problems. I'm somewhat software savvy but the whole jailbreak thing is new territory... and I can't really figure out the command in Windows or Mac terminals to list all connected devices so I have no idea if the computer even knows the iPod is there, even if iTunes doesn't. Guess that's it... ummm, please help???Nothing huh? No one's had this problem or this isn't fixable... oh well... if anybody comes up with anything I'll check in occasionally...

Does it light up at all? If not, you could have a battery issue.

Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I wasted about 1.5 hours with Apple on this issue. It all started happening after I updated to the latest version of iTunes. I haven't been able to sync my iPhone 4 in 1 month and am freaking out about possibly losing my pictures, video, text messages and music.
Windows XP user.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1If might be helpful if you actually told us what the problem is.

After updating to the latest software, my iPhone 4s and iPad 2 are not recognized by iTunes. I have attempted all of the suggusted material on Apple support. I am not satisfied as these items are needed daily.
Connect the device to the computer.
Quit iTunes if it launches.
Click the Start menu, right-click on Computer, and choose Properties.
In the upper-left corner, click Device Manager. The Device Manager window should open.
Click the plus icon (or disclosure triangle () for Windows 7) next to Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand this selection.
Right click on apple mobile device USB Driver and update it to latest version.
This worked for me.. -
My wife's brand new iphone4 (which was a replacement for a 4month-old iphone4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device on the computer/Apple ID in question is recognized and syncs perfectly. Any suggestions?
If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu. -
2nd gen iPod touch only displays start-up apple icon, and is not recognized by iTunes - what to do?
Thanks, but I've checked those articles out already. I drained the battery and finally got the needs charge (battery w/red line + arrow pointing to a charging bolt), I plugged the USB into the laptop and held down the start key +home key until I saw the apple logo. However, it still was not recognized by itunes. It's been plugged in for over an hour now and the screen is cycling apple logo/low battery (battery w/red line)/and black screen.

Need help? Some of my Ipods are not recognized by Itunes with my Windows 8 PC. (Ipod Nano 4th gen and Ipod Nano 6th gen), but on my Windows 7 PC, they work fine. My Ipod 3rd gen and Ipod shuffle work both on Windows 8 and 7 PC's. On the non-working Ipods, the Device sync test says "No device found". Already performed all of the Ipod device troubleshooting including reload Itunes, stop start Ipod device, changed drive letter...
any help is appreciated. Chris4sailHello there, chris4sail.

The guy at the Apple store said "Now thats a Brick" "I've never seen or heard of one this bad!"
I bought the phone with little to no info on it. I was told that it froze after several failed attempts at loading IOS 6.
Now... It will only turn on if plugged into wall, it will show black, then apple, then "connect to itunes" screen and thats it. As soon as I unplug, it dies. If I try power off, it turns back on and freezes in same place. Reset, same. And unabale to Factory restore cuz I cant unplug from wall. Im asuming its in dfu, nothing works.
When connected to USB,no power, no response from pc (win xp) or Itunes. Although... I swear I heard pc beap once as though it "found new hardware" but on inspection, Nothing.
My theories: 1) Battery is hooped. ( but I was told it worked fine a month ago) The longest I have had it charging is 4hrs and i died as soon as removed.
2) VCC conductor. Would explain USB issue.
3) The phone was "jailbroke" and IOS6 did not like that. Isnt there programs to reverse this?
4) IOS6 interupted, then phone got factory restored. Is it possible there is No "OS" on it?
I never touched an Iphone untill 2 days ago, and I have read and tried every troubshooting solution I could find. If I can fix this I'll be an expert!
