My apple TV not able to set date and time
Pl let me know how to signin in iTunes in apple as date and time is not working
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

I have a problem with automatic date and time will not initiate. I have wireless connection verified; my DHCP is properly configured, the latest i-Tunes software update, homesharing ID matched with computer and security firewall verified configured properly for allowing all incoming connections. Second Apple TV 2 bought in past two days where it will not update wirelessly. Is this a port problem, NTP, or related to software update that went wrong?
Contacted router vendor to troubleshoot their device. Verified with my computer, the wireless router works. Has anyone seen this problem before?
Thanks!Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you have previously been able to use your Apple TV without this problem, you might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds. if this doesn't help try a restore. -
having problem with the apple tv, because it still setting date and time and dont finish w the activation
That means it is having trouble connecting to the network. Make sure location is set correctly. Go to settings - general - network and ensure DNS is set to automatic. Check that your router is up to date. If on wifi try Ethernet.

Apple Tv is stuck on setting date and time.
I have my Apple Tv hooked up to my cellular network and it won't go passed the setting date and time screen. any ideas why it's not working?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
I don't have an answer to your specific question but trying to use the Apple TV with a cellular connection is not advisable, you will use up your monthly allowance in minutes. -

Not able to adjust date and time - format does not permit
Hello,
I just scanned one old photo as a JPG and then imported it to Aperture 2, I renamed the file 1976-07-01_01.jpg based on the date the pic was taken. Then I tried to adjust the date and time in Aperture but got this error window:
"Unable to adjust master file
Aperture was not able to adjust the date and time of the master file "pic.jpg" because it has a format that does not permit date modification."
What next?I am having a similar problem. The time is off by 12 hours exactly (ahead). When I touch date and time, screen goes black for less than a second and then reverts to main screen with all of the icons. I have first generation touch and just noticed this problem. All of the software is up to date. Any one know of a fix for this?

Not able to adjust Date and Time
For about a month now I haven't been able to manually adjust the time and date. Everything else on my iPod works fine... but when I click to change time and date it just goes black for about one second then goes back to the main menu. I don't think anything has been added to it that is unsafe.. but to be sure I scanned all my folders that are on my iPod and then scanned my entire computer. Nothing came up in the scan.
I do have the most up to date version of the software that is out.
It currently says that it is Friday, February 23, 2007 at 5:33pm. It changed it's time and date on it's own... I can't correct it.
So if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me how.I am having a similar problem. The time is off by 12 hours exactly (ahead). My apple TV is having trouble setting date and time
While fast forwarding a purchased movie, ATV froze. Then it wouldn't play any movies. Unplugged it, restarted it, tried to reset the settings, and it keeps getting hung up on date and time. Any ideas?
Thanks! It is having trouble connecting to the network. Make sure location is set correctly, DNS should be on automatic (settings - general - network). If on wifi try Ethernet. Make sure router is up to date. Reboot ATV and router

I'm about to call, but this is my last chance. What can I do?
Aha! A bit more searching and I found the answer that just fixed it for me.
Press Menu and the Back arrow at the same time until a broken chain icon appears on the top left of the screen.
Let them go....
Press Menu and Right arrow (forward arrow) until a "fixed" or "whole" chain appears.
This enabled my apple tv to once again respond and get off the "setting time and date" screen.
Hope it works for you. -

Can not set date and time on a new Apple TV
can not set date and time in a new appletv
Hello lfsalas55,
You may need to verify that TCP port 123 on your router is open and available for use by your Apple TV.

Trying to setup my new ATV and it won't set date and time, and won't allow me to log in with my apple ID to homeshare OR to test te network, which I know is correct since I changed it. I live in an apartment complex and the router is in my roommates room. ANY suggestions? I'm at the point where I may return this because it has been nothing but a hassle. I'm very annoyed and just want the product that I paid for to actually work.
The ABOUT section says Network Time: Skipped (reachable) and Activation: Failed (skipped)
I'm also using my MacBook Pro as the homesharing with iTunes up to date.I had a similar issue wuth my new Apple TV. If you (or your roommate) are able to change the router firewall settings, do that first. I don't know the ports that you need, except that 123 is one of them (to set the time). Then restart the Apple TV. See if that will get you through the activation process. I actually ended up restoring mine to factory settings, but I'm not sure if that step was really necessary.
I understand your frustration, though. Getting the Apple TV to work was such a pain -- it almost feels like it is not really an Apple product. -
My apple tv stuck at setting date and time. Also when connecting yo network doesn't ask for network password
I just went through this last night. (Aug 15, 2013)
What I did to get back up and running. This is not the first time I have lost the network connection with my Apple TV 3
Products effected: Apple TV 3 and Home Sharing (My Apple TV 1 was not effected)
Power down (unplug) the Apple TV and power down your router ( in my case, it is a FIOS router, flipping the on/off works fine).
Power both items back up.
At this point, I usually can reenter my Apple ID and PW. and reconnect Home Sharing. But for some reason I was unable to reconnect last night but was able to get it reconnected in the morning. I was jut to tired to deal with it last night.
A new issue that is was able to fix after a good nights sleep.
I did figure out, (after trying to reenter my ID and PW many times and having it tell me that my ID and PW was wrong), that when using the Apple TV on screen keypad to type in the user ID. DO NOT use the ".com" keypad button. Instead type out each character for .com. ( or what ever ending you use for your ID account.)
Once I typed out my full ID and PW. everything is back to 100% -
