My Apple TV seems to be losing its "link" with my computer. I'm running Windows7. The iPad, iPhone, & iPod have no trouble pushing content to the Apple TV but the iTunes library of music and movies does not want to connect or load. Has anyone had any incompatibilitites with Windows 7 or problems of this kind?

Apple already have a position on such matters. If you have a problem with one particular service and not others, contact the provider.

However, 3 similar reports, do not a problem make. Perhaps there is a problem, perhaps there isn't, but it really doesn't seem to affect many people if there is, believe me when there is a problem it's quite obvious from the additional traffic it causes in these communities. It's also not exactly clear that you are all seeing exactly the same thing. -

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. if i have 2 apple i.d.s both me, one linking to my computer and itunes, and the other to my phone can i merge these together?
i havent used my computer in two years. in that time i recently got a iphone4s and started another apple id.
i just set up my computer and my itunes on my computer has a different id. is it possible to merge these as one? the itunes on my computer has a no longer working email as well.
so if i go to change the info on that to my current email it obviously wont let me because it is registered to "someone" else... ME..

You can, however, use more than one Apple ID/iTunes Store account on your computer and hence on your iPhone. If you've forgetten the password to your older ID, see:

once you get in, you can change the email address associated with that ID so that receipts and such are emailed to a current address.

ITunes keeps losing its connection with my iPhone 5 - anyone else seeing this?

UK iPhone 5 user here - iMac with Mountain Lion.
iTunes sporadically keeps losing its view of my iPhone 5 which I have set to sync over wi-fi (Apple Extreme Base Station)
I know it will redetect it once I lightning connect it back in but isn't the point of wifi sync is so you DON'T have to do that.
Doesn't seem to retain much memory of the connection.
Anyone seeing this? Or know why?
CheersI have this happen to me all the time. I have an iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 all set to sync through wifi to my iMac. At any given time, one or more of them will drop from the list of devices.
The easiest and most reliable way for me to get around it is to turn wifi off on my iMac, wait a second, and then turn it back on. The missing device suddenly reappears 99% of the time. For the other 1%, I also have to quit and restart iTunes. This is much faster than rebooting the device, which is what I was doing until I learned of the Mac wifi toggle tip. -
Apple TV seems to be losing connection to my TV after being on for about an hour or so.
This is a recent occurrence. My connection to Apple TV drops out while operating after an hour or so. Since this hasn't happened before, I'm guessing it has something to do with my update of iTunes to v.11.05. Anyone else have a better explanation?

You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment. -

Clamshell and mirroring are two distinct concepts, I know. As to the lost audio, I have restarted my equipment more than a few times. It's usually one of my first options. Just don't understand why the audio stays home and the video makes it to the tv. That's with mirroring.
I really want to be able to close the lid of the MacBook and use the tv as a desktop. With mirroring, the cursor is choppy and reacts slowly. I wish to watch programming stored on my drives on the tv. I dont really need or want mirroring, but it's the only way I know of to get desktop to the tv. And mirroring still suffers audio loss. Someone in the community mentioned using and external keyboard and "clamshell" but they didn't elaborate. That's what I'm really wishing to accomplish.

Hi All,
I've just been hired in a new editing company where we are producing pictures in black and white to illustrate our book.
The previous person that was occupying this position could manage the pictures workflow through bridge using a script that was in the Tools menu and use to select several picture and send them to photoshop to apply and converting script (black and white convesion).
The problem I encounter on my session is that I can't send picture to this photoshop script using Bridge ... Can someone help me on this ?

If you used Sync to do that "import", disable Sync for at least one of those Profiles.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have Sync enabled for all the profiles. To my surprise, however, Sync was of no use in getting Default's extension collection into Shopping. For that I had to resort to the article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox.
I will try disabling Sync on Shopping. -

Airport extreme losing wireless connection with Time Capsule
I have a 1st gen Time Capsule acting as my home wireless network base station which is configured to allow the wireless network to be extended. It is also the sole DHCP server. I have a 4th gen Airport Extreme in Extend a Wireless network mode. Everything was running ok for several months. However, since I upgraded both devices to Version 7.6, the Airport extreme keeps losing its connection with the network every few hours, requiring a daily reboot. Since the problem occured, I have disabled MAC address Access Control on the Time Capsule, and allocated a reserved DHCP IP address for the Airport Extreme - but this has not solved the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas?I had exactly the same problem. I also think it's a bug in 7.6. It seemed solved by downgrading my Time Capsule (TC) and my Airport Extreme (AE) to 7.5.2. To do so start the Airport Utility (in your /Applications/Utilities folder). Double click on the TC or AE. In the Menu at the top on your screen go to "Base Station" --> "Upload Firmware..." and the select 7.5.2. After rebooting your device, downgrade the other. Hopefully your problem is solved as well!

Apple TV seems to do things all on its own, Solved.
Spent more than two weeks trying to find out why my Apple TV (3rd generation) would turn on by itself, move the selection around and cause the video/music to stop, skip and do other weird things. Searched to see if others had similar problems with there ATVs, found lots of probable fixes but no real solution to my problems.
Having the ATV constantly turning itself on was an inconvenience, but the skipping and stopping during video/music playback was painful. Followed all on the general guidlines for ATV problems, Reset the ATV, local switch, local router, DSL, check ATV iOS version, assigned local reserved addresses, checked router firmware versions, this did not solve the problem. Checked remote, changed battery, un-paired and paired the remote, the remote worked correctly but ATV would still do things like someone else was linked to the ATV. Shut off and disconnected all computers, iPads, iPods and ethernet connected devices, leaving only the ATV hooked up via ethernet to the DSL, ATV worked well but still had spurious actions. Watched the local net traffic, there was no packet traffic at the time of the problems. Had this paranoid thought that my ATV was picking up IR remote signals via my large front window, so the IR front sensor on the ATV was covered, still had my ATV doing weird things all on its own. Though that I might have to bring my ATV into the Apple store for repair/replacement.
About a week later, after suffering quietly through movies and music that would skip forward, stop and pause, I was trying to pair my Apple bluetooth keyboard to my iPad(4) for an evening's presentations. The keyboard would not pair to the iPad even though it had been paired in the past. The keyboard battery was low so it was replaced, still would not pair with the iPad. Why? Now I have two devices to bring to the Apple store.
Then the realization, that sometime ago, I had paired the bluetooth keyboard to the ATV! And the keyboard had been in a tote bag with a few hefty things on it. Was the keyboard sending commands to the ATV because some of the keys were being pressed in the bag? (Pocket dialing?) Checked the Bluetooth settings on the ATV, BT seems to be always on and it was paired to a keyboard, of course it was the keyboard from the bag! Pressed the arrow keys on the keyboard, low and behold the keyboard was controlling the ATV ( as do other playback control buttons on the keyboard). Unpaired the keyboard from the ATV, then checked to see if the ATV would behave, sure enough everything was now OK. So problem solved, my bad, lesson learned: don't pair keyboard to multiple devices, un-pair them when you are done.

Well at least I'm not alone, this problem with pairing keyboards and other Bluetooth devices with multiple iMac, MacBooks, Mac Pros, iPhones, iPads and Apple TVs can be very frustrating. Only a few days ago I realized that another problem, with my iPad suddenly playing songs with the cover closed, was related to the "bag keying, bagging" problem that made my ATV look possessed. Ha, ha, seems the wireless keyboard would lacth on to the nearest paired device (as I moved the tote bag arround) and cause intermittent activations. Spooky!
I see this as both a user and an Apple design problem. Wireless input devices users should not pair a device to multiple computer/phone/pad/pod/atvs at the same time. Apple (software, firmware) designers should change the pairing Bluetooth proceedure to warn users that the device has already been paired with another computer/phone/pad/pod/atvs.
example:
Warning: Bluetooth Pairing Fail
An attempt to pair (Input device) xxxxx has failed
because it is already pair with (DEVICE) XXXXX
You must unpair this (Input device) before proceeding
Force an unpairing with (DEVICE) XXXXX?
[ ] Yes, unpair [ ] No, don't unpair
This would only work with devices on the same local network and will not solve all of the problems, but it would certainly help.

I have recently updated the software on my Apple TV. I now seem to be losing the connection to my iTunes Library on my iMac rather frequently. I have reset/restarted Apple TV box, my BT Infinity box and my iMac. I would be grateful for any advice.

You can't play music from the computer if there is none there. If you are using iTunes Match you should now be able to download and play all your music on the Apple TV from the music feature on the main page. -

I don't know many consumer electronics firms that would release a camera phone that has an apparent design-flaw in the camera lens cover and a firmware riddled with bugs.
I continued with a Symbian phone precisely because I didn't want to follow the herd and get an iPhone. Nokia have made the experience fairly painful and not particularly rewarding for me after I parted with £500. I won't make the same mistake twice and I don't think I'm alone.

When I upload a picture onto flash I begin to scribble and what not ontop of a .jpg/.png/etc picture but as soon as stop drawing, it disappears and is found underneath the image. Is there anyways to change this?
