My AppleId has U.S. address. How to register iPad outside U.S.?
I am U.S. citizen, visiting India for an extended period. My AppleId has U.S. address.
When I tried to register my iPad in India, it barfs -- wants me to specify India address. How do I get around this without lying?

Not sure this would work, but it should! Buy a cheap prepaid Visa card while in the states (many stores have them). They take a few years to expire, and should appear as US-based cards on the Verizon website. There is a small fee on the initial purchase which is a drawback.
BTW: although it doesn't help: Verizon isn't the only carrier that does this. I had a hard time topping up my UK based accounts because of a lack of a UK credit card, in fact I am on the UK carrier that I use, mainly because their website does accept US credit cards! (But when I was at one of their stores, they wouldn't accept my card, because it wasn't the UK standard Chip and PIn, and then charged me a surcharge for paying with cash....)

My daughter has somehow figured out how to register for her own Apple ID but she is very underage. She is not giving me the correct info for me to get into her email. She has downloaded some apps that I would not allow. How can I recover her Apple ID info?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -
Contact has 2 email addresses, how set default?
When I have a contact with more than one active email address, how do I select just one of them to be used when that person is part of a group list? Is theer a way to choose a default? Currently, Mail is picking the one I don't want to use -- the one this contact checks less frequently.
I know I can remove the one I don't want to use from the 'previous recipients' list -- but if I ever use the second email in the future, it will return to the previous recipients list and might become the default one again...See: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3867949?tstart=0

Has anyone been able to use the ipad outside?
I have been unable to get my ipad to last longer than a song and a half outside before it shuts down and says it has to cool down before I can use it. I even put it in airplane mode so 3g and wifi are turned off and the only thing running is the iPod app. It is only 80 degrees outside, what a piece of crap. It is a 16gb w/ 3g and is only 3 days old. I was hoping to use it where ever I go, put if you can't use it outside in warm temperatures, what good is it even having 3g?
I'd say the issue may be leaving it in direct sunlight. The temperature from the radiance of the sun could cook your iPad. But in that light, dude, its not a radio. Its a quality computing device capable of doing many thing, just not in direct heat. You might do better with a cd player?

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Thanks for the help Niel. I couldn't change the rescue email address (an address that no longer exists and is therefore useless) until I could correctly answer the security questions. After numerous guesses, finally got them right. Was then presented with the option to change the rescue email address. Guess the only other option was to have Apple Support make the change or reset my account info. Have made note of the correct answers so this won't happen again. Thanks for the fast response!!

My daughter was updating her iphone to the iOS6 and everything went great. So, she was going to update mine. She used her itunes acct. instead of mine and it downloaded all her music and apps onto my iphone. Now when it asks for me to enter my password, it has her email address. How can I fix this???
plug your iphone into your computer with your itunes account signed in to update it, (if you want your own apps ect.) if all you want to do is change accounts signed in on the iphone than simply open settings and scroll down until you see itunes and app stores touch the apple id tip top and signout, sign yourself in. any apps she has "purschased" that you have not.. i imagine will just cease to work.
if you both share the same contacts, it won't be a big deal, however if you have work and her shcools numbers ect, and she just has mom/dad/buddies you may have double numbers and apps and what not by doing this, so if it does become a mess.. just get on itunes log into your account by clicking the store menu in itunes and going down to the account id on the bottom of that menu and just restore your phone. -
forgot answers for security questions, my apple account has updated email address but the rescue email address for account is old and not accessible - do not know how to update that address so i can authorize new devices...

Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple throughiTunes Store Support. -

In my project I have two N220 systems, which has two IP addresses each. Server has the following IP addresses
172.31.128.93 This IP address connected thorugh HUB
3.3.3.1 This IP address connected through Crossover cable
Client has the following IP addresses
172.31.128.94 This IP address connected thorugh HUB
3.3.3.2 This IP address connected through Crossover cable
In server system I bind the RMI registry in the following way
Naming.rebind ("rmi://3.3.3.1/HeartBeat", this);
And in Client system I lookup in the following way
Naming.lookup("rmi://3.3.3.1:1099/HeartBeat");
Now the problem is, the method in RMI server is not called through Crossover link it is happening through TCP/IP link. Is there any way to call the method by only using Crossover link?
Please help me with this issue...

If the crossover cable is properly connected lookup method is working fine.
If the crossover cable is unplugged, lookup method is waiting indefinitely until the cable is plugged in. (Lookup method is not throwing any exception )
Is there any way to avoid this ?

I'm trying to update my apps on my ipad, but when I go to updates itunes has suddenly defaulted to an old deleted email address, how can I fix this? When I go into settings on my ipad the email address is correct, it's just itunes thats causing a problem. Can someone please help, I cant access the deleted email address and when I try to answer the security questions Apple is telling me that I have entered the incorrect date of birth.....I haven't forgotten my date of birth.... this is so frustrating. What can I do?????
Is it a different account e.g. did you update your account with a new email address or did you create a new account ? If you updated your existing account then try logging out of the account by tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if the updated id then shows in the Purchased tab.
If you created a new account then all apps (and any other content) downloaded by the old account will remain tied to the old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps (and/or redownload its purchases). If you can't remember its password, and can't get the security questions reset (you don't have a rescue email address on the account ?), then you have need to contact Support in your country to get the questions and password reset.
