My AppleTV 2 signal isnt being recognized by my TV
I have a Philips ambilight and my new AppleTV wont work. I moved it briefly to my sharp TV and the appleTV worked there. I used to have the older model appleTV hooked up to the Philips and it worked just fine. I have tried other components in the HDMI inputs and they work as well.
Any ideas?
I have great news, and I hope you check this regularly because I had the same problem and figured out a solution. I bought my Philips back in 2007 because I wanted to have a high def 1080p television and the ambi-light just happened to be a nice added bonus. I love Apple products so I bought an AppleTV to network all of my computers at home with the television and needless to say, I was pretty bummed when I moved to a new place and had my Philips in the family room and couldn't get AppleTV to work. I had the same problem with the unsupported video format and it would occassionally come on and then disappear for an extended period of time. So then I thought logically, what would happen if I tried to hook up a brand new iPod to something that was created in 2007. There probably needs to be some kind of update to the old thing.
It's not your cables, it's not your AppleTV, it's your software on your TV. All you need is a USB Thumb Drive and a computer. You'll need to plug in the USB to your TV (left hand side by the RCA input) to get an identification tag. Go to the Menu on your television and hit Software Update. It'll store the ID card on your USB. Simply plug that into your computer, click on the file, Accept the terms of the update and follow the instructions on the webpage. You'll need to stick the USB back into the TV (making sure not to do anything while it's updating) and once it's finished, viola, AppleTV works! I just tried streaming a file over my network to my AppleTV and it played perfectly fine.

Im setting up my ipad and it isnt being recognized by pc, why is this and how do i fix it?
I am setting up my new Ipad on my pc and for whatever reason, my itunes isnt recognizing the Ipad. Why is this and how can it be fixed?
Does your computer meet the minimum specs :
PC with USB 2.0 port
Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.2 or later recommended
If it does then have you tried the basics : rebooting your computer, and resetting your iPad (press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot). ive never had a problem with my IPOD nano before and now suddenly it wont seem to load my songs and isnt recognized by my compuer, but it will charge on my computer.[even though it is fully charged] the wierd thing is, my ipod mini is recognized but the nano isnt.

If you go into your device manager, is there a little red x or yellow exclamation point next to the necessary drivers?
Right click and select Update Driver Software.
Click Browse My Computer and enter in C:\Windows\System32
Windows will find the iPod and so will iTunes!

IPod nano isnt being recognized by my computer
I just purchased an iPod nano and for some reason it worked perfectly the first time but every time after that it wont even be recognized by my computer. Whenever I click on removable disk (E: drive) it says "please insert disk into E:". iTunes doesnt recognize it and even the apple tech guys dont know whats going on. I also have 6 USB ports and only one is a USB 2.0, the problem is I dont know which one! I was just wondering how many other people are having the same problem as me and if anybody has managed to fix it.

Ipod Nano isnt being recognized by the computer
its new and i already installed the software and everything....i pluggged the nano in and nothing..though i should mention that it says "do not disconnect" on the screen...
i tried to reset the nano and that didnt work...then i tried to open up ipod update and restore it and it froze...and i tried that multiple times and the same thing keeps on happening...and i dont think that its from my computer...because its very new..

I left it plugged in overnight and all of yesterday. This morning it was working, but still not recognized on iTunes (I had disconnected and reconnected before I could check it in iTunes.) The when I tried to connect it again it started acting funny - not connecting, cycling through apple/support/battery screens .
I had suspected the battery was a problem, but I think you may be right - that the hard drive is gone. I have someone locally who may be able to tell me if it's salvagable. I'd like to have it last a few months for my friend, but I know it may be a lost cause at this point.
Thanks for the help. I don't want to give her a fancy paperweight. I wonder if the Apple store would consider looking at this thing or if it's just too old. -
Ipod touch isnt being recognized in itunes version 10.1 unable to download 11.1
what are the steps to getting my ipod touch (5th gen) to work on itunes 10.1? I am currently stationed (military) in a location which I don't have a lot of bandwith I have not been able to download itunes 11.1 I always get an error message within 2 min of trying to download.
On a PC, the computer needs iTunes version 10.7 or later to sync with and iPod with iOS 6.

Yea i got my nano the other day and it was pretty kool. I connected it to my laptop which worked perfectly fined. had no problems and i believe my itunes on my laptop wasnt updated so i assume it was 4.9 instead of 5.0. Well i tried to use my computer and it doesnt read my Nano. Is it because of the software, connection, the nano, or something else? I tried every single thing that apple told me to do including resetting, reinstalling, etc. When i had my mini before, it had the same problem. For some reason it doesnt read the ipod nano nor it did for my mini. If you know what i can do to fix this problem, i could use the help because this thing is really irrating me.
There is a thread down there with the title "Computer doesn't recognize the Nano" which provided me with the answer. I'll transcribe it here "as is", so other people can use as well:
"Connect your nano to the pc. With ITUNES installed hold down the little circle and the menu at the same time. After about 20 seconds the apple logo will appear on the screen. About 30 seconds after that it should say do not disconnect."

I am having trouble with Airserver not finding Bonjour or Windows I have installed and repaired Bonjour and it still does ot reconize it.

My ipad isnt being recognized in ANY way on my computer
when i plug in my iphone it starts charging and syncing but when i plug in my ipad 2 it dosnt start charging or syncing. i even tried diffrent chords but same problem.
help!!Try blowing out & cleaning out (use an old soft toothbrush or similar) the device's 30-pin or Lightning port. Dust and lint can cause connectivity issues.

I have had similar problems. I got the iPod a few weeks ago. I had downloaded iTunes 7.0. When I initially hooked the iPod to my computer..iTune recognised it and loaded a few test albunms into ...cool right?
Ok...So I start loading a ton of albums into iTunes...I get a notification to upgrade iTunes to 7.02 (I think) I did. That is when the trouble started...When I connected my iPod to the computer again to do another sync I started having some problems. itunes wanted to upgrade the software on the iPod to 1.2. I declined to do this initailly. I got an error while trying to download albums after doing the decline. Since then i have had a hard time...this is what happened..and what I did.:
1. I would attach the Ipod...it would cycle for a few second...lock up iTunes for a minute...then it would drop out of my computer...the ipod would discontinue to display the "do not disconnect" screen.
...I did all the trouble shooting on the help websites..I decided that somehow I corrupted the OS of the iPod..and needed to do a restore...can't do that if you cannot get it mounted in iTunes. I ended up removing the driver in the device manager while the device was showing in MyComputer...this finally got the iPod to mount in iTunes...I quickly did a restore and update...mistake!
2. Now I am stuck...iPod mounts in my computer...launches iTunes...but does not show up. I am still convinced that there is a version conflict in windows with the iTunes V7.02 and the OS 1.2 on the iPod. My next step is to visit the apple store and see if they can get an old OS installed on the iPOD
You can try this if you want: try removing the driver in the device manager...and do not upgrade any software. To remove the driver:
1. right click on my computer
2. select properties
3. go to the harware tab
4. click on the device manager button.
5. scoll down to the usb line and click on the "plus" sign. Your iPod should be listed a "mass storage device" ..at least mine is.
6. right click on it and select "uninstall'.
7. disconnect your iPod
8reconnect your ipod.
windows should reinstall the driver. -
I have an Iphone 4s and i have two reocurring problems. So my first problem was after I had synced all my music most of the new songs and some old that never had a problem before had a red circle with a red square inside of it. I've gotten rid of it before but I dont even know how. I've read countless discussions and tried so many things that I dont even know what works. i figured it just fixed in time but there has to be an easier way that isnt so frustrating and annoying. So now my iphone isnt even being recognized. the apple mobile device is installed and running and has been stopped, started and restarted plenty of time. ive reset and restarted, reinstalled everything. my phone is charging, it just isnt being recognized by itunes or my pc. also in the device manager it isnt showing up. I am getting very close to smashing my iphone and switching to an android. everything is up to date and i also have tried to sync music on the first ipod touch that came out and even that isnt being recognized. I just want to get rid of the **** red circles and connect my iphone so i can sync it a million times in hopes that the red circles will just disappear. does anyone know why these red circles appear? Apple needs to get their stuff together and give us actual directions on how to fix this!!!! thank you for your help!!!

Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync! -

Are yu sure that yu entered the charactors correctly? The SN is located in Settings>General>About>Serial Number. -
Ipod touch not being recognized by itunes now
i have a friend who has an ipod touch....everything had been going fine for him and then all of a sudden it was not being recognized any more....what caused this? he did say that he had done an update but i'm not sure what version he has....could this possibly be the problem.....does anyone an a fix for this?
I think Apple is having a problem at the moment, my Ipod touch was always fine syncing until the new update! (Even on older itunes version, I could'nt sync since new update came out) It just isnt recognizing the device...

The "Roman" font is not being recognized in Firefox 4.0. As such, I cannot read any previously posted topics or post any new topics on websites using this font.
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.
