My apps are white boxes (well about half of my apps) after I did a sync yesterday

I synced my daughters 3rd gen to my itunes yesterday, adding music & apps. After sync finished, everything was fine...all the apps had the appropriate pic. I powered it off. My daughter powered it on about 2 hours later and now about half of the apps are blank white boxes. The apps still work but I need to fix this for her...please help

You may need to try another hard reset of the iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
The next step would be to reset your iPod's network settings.  To do this, head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network settings.  After your iPod Touch has finished rebooting, reconnect to a Wifi network and see if that does any good.
If still no luck, try removing all the Apps from the iPod via syncing preferences in iTunes and then resync them all back over to it.

    I have Bridge ver 1.0.4.6 with PS2. Everything was fine until I had to reformat my PC and reinstall. The first time I launched Bridge it said something about the database and the message went away. Now all the thumbnails are white boxes. It doesn't matter what view, how large the icons ... everything is white which makes the product useless.

    Have you tried resetting the preferences? With PS2 hold down crtl alt shift keys when starting Bridge. Have to be quick. When successful will get a reset window. Choose all 3 options.
    Also, make sure the directory where the cache is stored is the same as the directory Bridge is looking at, especially if you do did not have a default location selected.

    I've checked your account—you have two ExportPDF subscriptions. One placed on October 20 2013, and the other placed on October 11 of this year. So, you were probably charged the auto renewal for the subscription placed in 2013, and then the new charge for this year's order.

  • We cannot get the web pages to fill the screen they are in the middle about half of total screen. Geek squad was no help!

    Yesterday our hp desktop, 23inch touch screen was showing web pages full screen, today it is not. Instead it looks like a page within the screen covering about half of total screen width. we have gone into "view" and selected full screen and there is a blip and it changes incrementally. Is this a Firefox problem or adjustment needed in this area?

    I took a peek at past issues, but could not find a solution other than reinstalling (which my customers will not do). In windows 7 pro, using explorer 9 on a 64 bit machine with the latest flash player installed, when I click on our video presentation it shows up as a white box with the player menu below.  When messing around with it, I hit the full screen icon on the player and it shows the video perfectly.  I also found that a right click will show a faded video while holding the right button.     I am just going to import then import media from files. I have a folder on my desktop that has all my home videos in it that I didn't simply import through my camera. One video, imparticular, that won't import says it's a Quicktime Video and I will post a snapshot of the rest of the info.

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Can't access songs in iTunes. There are exclamation marks on about half of my library. When I try to play them I get: "Can't find the file" notice and iTunes asks me to locate each song. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

    I had not opened my iTunes in weeks. When I opened it today, most of the songs in my library had exclamation marks beside them and when I clicked on them got the message: "the song could not be used because the original file cannot be found", then asks me if I want to locate it. When I press "locate" tab I am led to iTunes folders and have to hunt around for the song. Some songs I can't find in the folders. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

    The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
    The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
    trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
    Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
    There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...

    Hi, I got my I phone stolen and got a replacement phone, I did a system restore and everything came over except for all my apps.  What can I do?  Yes I did back up my phone prior to it being stolen.  I did remember seeing all my apps on my itunes at one point.

    I might of downloaded a new firm ware for i tunes before I did a system restore on my new iphone 4, could that of triggered my apps being missing?

    If your apps were in itunes on your computer, then they should still be there.  Just sync them back to the iphone.
    BTW, the backup that itunes performs when syncing does NOT include music/apps/movies/tv shows etc.
    Anything purchased on the iphone would have to be transferred to your computer.  File>Transfer Purchases
    Unlike music/vids/etc, you can redownload apps

  • Photos sync from computer folders, but are in the wrong albums and some photos only appear as a white box?

    On my iPad 2, I'm syncing my photos through iTunes from folders on my computer, as I am a photographer and don't like to use iPhoto and not have direct access to my original files.
    My photos sync without any hassle, but when viewing them on the iPad half the photos present as white boxes or a half photo/half white screen. I tried resetting iPad as a last measure, I've deleted the photo cache etc, to no avail. In fact, the most recent time I tried it didn't fix the white screen, but also added another issue- my photos now are completely mixed up within the albums. Christmas photos and showing in the Easter album and so on, there seems to be no logic in it! As I was given my iPad last month by my father in laws company, they had bought their stock a while ago and it's now out of AppleCare support - even though I've only used it for a month! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
    My Mac is a 1 yr old MacBook pro running snow leopard. My iTunes was the second oldest version, have just updated to most recent version, but it hasn't fixed anything.

    Updating to the latest Iphoto release solved this. First time it rebuilt the libraries the pics appeared again.

      I have a tiled background image but sometimes the white box only covers half the content and my tiled image is displayed under the other half of the content...  Do I have to manually make the box for each page or is there a way to attach it to both the header and footer so it expands depending on how much content is on each page while retaining my background image in only the border areas?

    Muse doesn't have that specific feature. However, in may cases the desired effect can be achieved by inverting how you think about it.
    Using a 100% with rectangle with a fill image for your header and another for your footer, that leaves the page fill and/or background fill image to grow and shrink to fill he space between your header and footer. If you only want one column of your page design to have this effect, you may be able to achieve that using a vertically repeating background fill image for the page or browser fill (where the fill is a horizontal band the with color only where you want the vertical column to appear.

    I'm exporting a file from InDesign CS3 that contains several graphics that have a drop shadow applied to them (added in InDesign NOT Illustrator). When I view the PDF, there are white boxes that appear behind the graphics with the drop shadows. I need to use the 'Compatibility: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3)' setting from the PDF export dialogue box.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sometimes having drop shadows on images (imported) that have spot colors causes this. Converting them to process or RGB helps. I know that applies to imported graphics but it may apply to graphics created in InD sgn. Are your graphics set up in spot colors?

    I have a similar problem.  None of my App Icons are visible.  I rebooted Iphone, PC and wireless router, I did a sync with iTunes (With "Sync Apps" checked, but it doesn't seem to go through that step), both through wi-fi and with USB cable........no success with any of these.
    When I go into my settings, I can see that the phone knows about these apps. I get see the settings for them and the amount of storage they're using.
    I'm thinking I'll use the Restore function in iTunes.....but I'm afraid that might make things worse!! 

  • Lost 3rd Party Apps After iOS 5.1.1 Update.

    I updated my wife's iPhone 3GS from iOS 3.something to iOS V5.1.1.
    This device had never been connected to the computer I used. I download iTunes, authorized the iPhone, downloaded iOS, did a backup (by right clicking on Device). I think most, if not all, of the apps that have been added to the iPhone were not downloaded from the iTunes store.
    I did a transfer (which I think puts the apps into an iTunes Library). I was warned to authorize the this computer for iTunes store purchases or "41 apps ... would be deleted". I authorized and transferred. The apps Library display showed 41 apps.
    I performed the update (which also did a backup). I was careful not to disconnect the iPhone until the iTunes summary page showed that the iPhone had been updated.
    The 41 apps are not on the iPhone. I selected all of them in the iTunes apps library and did a sync. Still don't have those apps on the iPhone.
    How do I get those apps from the iTunes Library to her iPhone?
    DISCLOSURE: I am not very iPhone/iOS literate.

    I lost all my apps after I did the update through the PC Companion. The contacts, messages, email and all that was restored through the restoring function in the PC Companion. Can't I get my apps back?

    That's a bit odd but
    Settings > accounts > google (add your gmail account) > open the playstore > download any app > give it some time it might start downloading all your apps if not you can 
    either 
    1) look for all the apps from your phone 
    or 
    2) on your computer sign in to the playstore and send the apps to your phone (playstore > sign in > my apps > install )
