My Apps Aren't Updating

I'm having a slight problem, starting since yesterday I went onto my App Store and noticed I had an update for Messenger. I tried to update it but when I tried to update the app it just gave me that buffering circle for multiple minutes. I thought something was wrong with my Wi-Fi but nothing was wrong with that either i contacted my internet supplier and they sent me a new signal and everything. Still nothing, I went to my friend's house and tried updating my apps there, nothing happened still. It just tells me "Waiting" When I exit out the App Store to check on the progress of the apps that are suppose to be downloading. They didn't have any progress at all, I tried reseting my phone and nothing happened still! I then signed out of my Apple ID to see if that would resolve the problem. Still nothing. Now today Instagram has a new update, I tried updating that thinking that only Messenger was having a flaw with updating, Instagram wouldn't update either. Does anybody have any type of advice whatsoever?

No sir my restrictions aren't enabled. But thank you for trying to help!

  • It's been 2 weeks and my apps aren't updating!

I tried updating and it says waiting but it hasn't done anything for 2 weeks and it is driving me crazy! How can I get it to finally update!?!?!?!

In case you don't sync with iTunes or do not use iTunes ....If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

  • IPod Touch (2nd Gen) not charging properly and apps won't update

Hi, I'm not really sure if or how these problems can be linked, but I thought I'd put them together just in case...
My first problem is that my apps aren't updating properly.  When I try to apply the updates, I get the "waiting" come up but then it just resets having done nothing, sometimes needing me to switch my iPod right off and on again before I can use the app again.  I tried connecting my iPod up to my computer to apply the updates through iTunes and it seemed to work, but none of them actually updated.
Having connected to iTunes and tried to sync everything, I also got an error message saying that the apps couldn't be synched due to not being able to determine what apps were on my iPod.  However, they were all sitting there looking like they had synched.
The second part of the problem is that my iPod doesn't seem to be charging properly anymore.  The battery doesn't seem to be lasting as long as it should and I've noticed that sometimes when I'm charging it, I get the symbol come up that means it's running from the mains, when it should actually still be the symbol to show it's currenty charging, so I'm wondering if the problem is that it's not charging properly some of the time rather than the charge isn't lasting long enough.
If anyone's got any ideas how to resolve any of this I'd really appreciate it
    Thank you

  • After updating, my app aren´t opening. helep me

I did the updating to 5.0, now, my app aren´t working correct!!!

    Hi,
As you said, after the cache of the browser cleared, the old version code still display in the debugger.
It would not be an expected behavior as the browser still gives the old version code even the code works in a new way.
What if you inspect the code in other machine?
If the outcome is the same, it is recommended to create another app and do the test again in case it is an issue of app development.
Feel free to reply with the test result if there are any progress.
    Thanks

I have a new generation Product (Red) 64GB iPod Touch...about 2 days ago my apps just stopped updating, any suggestions?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Apps lost after update

How do you restore apps/photos/notes to ipad 1 after they've been removed after IOS 5.0.1 update?

If the apps aren't on your computer then you will need to re-download them on there first - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content and settings, so for a restore to work fully iTunes will need access to the apps so that it copy them and therefore their content.
To restore, connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, and on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes right-click (or Control-click if on a Mac) the iPad 'device' and select 'Restore from Backup'

  • I had to restore my hard drive and so the apps aren't on this computer anymore. How can I transfer them from the ipod to the computer?

I had to restore my hard drive so the apps aren't backed up to my computer any more. When I go to update/backup my phone, it says it will delete all apps. How do I get these apps so they are backed up?

  • Apps won't update on iPhone 4 not being used as phone

I replaced my iPhone 4 with an iPhone 4S. I'm using the 4 as a media player and wifi enabled device, not a phone.
When I ask the App Store to update the apps that need to be updated it askes me to try back later. Instead of updating, the apps are grayed our and give the "Waiting..."message.
I'm using a fast wifi connection and the iPhone is 6 feet from the router.
Any idea why the updates aren't successful?

It's not an issue of OS 3.1.3, as the update used to work for months - it can only be due to changes Apple made to the app store itself. Without OS 4.x (which will NOT be installed on my 3Gs for several reasons (no jailbreak)) there is no other way left than to manually locate the apps to update and install them as if they were just bought (you have already bought ... must be confirmed too everytime) - and an "update all" would also "upgrade" several apps rendering them unuseable as the developers thought it would be a great idea to make OS4 a minimum requirement.
Only two days ago I was able to compare my 3Gs with OS 3.1.3 with one that had OS 4.2.1 on it - anything that was chosen in Safari took THREE times as long to load on OS 4 as on OS 3.1.3 - even any simple photo.
Thanks, Apple. The 3Gs was my first and also last iPhone.
In fact it's my second, as I had to get it replaced after accidentally installing OS 4 on my first one, which made it heat up like he'll and get cracks in the shell. The warranty replacement came with OS 3.1.3 on it, and that won't change until it dies.

  • App wont show update

One of my apps had an update, and the update was too large, so it had to be done when linked to my computer. After I downloaded the update on itunes, I synced my phone, and I saw the app update, but my phone still shows the update as available. Kinda weird.

It looks like many people are experiencing this...and in my experience, it's not just downloads from iTunes, downloads from the iPhone itself aren't registering as updated. Hoping for a fix on this soon!

  • After updating to iOS 7 my apps won't update automatically?

I've updated to iOS 7 on my ipad with retina display. After the update I saw that I had 12 updates for my apps. When I went to the App Store, they just disappeared. Any one know how to fix this without searching for each app and  manually updating?

Same problem here on four devices, two of which aren't even running iOS 7. App updates just disappear from the app store app and the app tells me all my apps are up to date when they aren't.
This problem fixed itself on the iPhone 4 this morning after I synced it with iTunes last night.  My iPad 3 is now listing app updates, but it stalls when I try to download them, so I'm updating via iTunes now.
I suspect this is a server problem on Apple's end (I noticed iTunes match isn't working this morning either....). Try syncing your phone with iTunes in the meantime or updating each app individually through the purchased app list (just click on it and you can update on a per app basis).

  • Apps aren't downloading to my iPhone

For some reason, apps aren't downloading to my iPhone. I see that updates are available. I click install, a blank status bar appears, but then it hangs in limbo. No data appears to download, because the blue color never starts to show incoming data for downloading the update. I've hard-rebooted the phone and closed all open apps multiple times.

The app store worked the next day.
I don't know how to delete this thread.

  • Bug? My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future.

My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future even though I can see them on the month, week and day view. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I've tried it all. I called the apple support and they checked on their iPads. They all did the same and they couldn't help me. They suggested trying this way. I'd like to be able to plan a few years ahead and the year view would make thing so easy!
    Is this a bug?

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
