My apps doesn't have sound

Hi. I have a problem with my iphone 4. Whenever I play an app, the app plays but sound doesn't come out. I tried this on the apps I bought and they don't have sound. Before this happened, they had sound. When I played a video with the sound on, the video played like it was supposed to. But my apps don't have sound anymore. I'm not sure how this happened. I have iOS 4.0.1. Does this mean I have to upgrade? Or do I have to get a new phone? If I don't have to do any of these, is there any instructions on how to fix this?

I found out what the problem was. Vibrate was on so I turned vibrate off. You don't have to answer anymore.

my Justin.tv app doesn't have sound....any idea how to resolve this problem?

Hi. I was having this problem too but the sound works for me when I plug in the headphones. I guess it's more of a workaround but I'm happy with it. Hope this helps.

  • HT4976 Since updating my iphone 4S to ios 7.1 my phone will no longer ring and apps do not have sound.

Since updating my iphone 4S to ios 7.1 my phone will no longer ring and apps do not have sound. I have made sure the do not disturb is not turned on and have also gone into Accessibility and made sure sound is not off there.  I have done a reboot and also a reset of the settings.  When I set my ring tone, the sample tone plays, however, the phone only vibrates when I get a call. The apps also do not have any sound. Everything was working fine until the update.

I am positive the half moon isn't there. That one caught me once before so now I am careful to check.
    Thanks for the idea tho!

  • Mac Mini Doesn't have sound

I reinstalled Mac OS X Snow leopard on my Intel Core Duo Mac Mini and it doesn't have sound anymore, the softwar is all up to date. any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

  • Why My iPhone 4 doesn't have sound after I upgrade it to IOS 7.0.2

Why My iPhone 4 doesn't have sound after I upgrade it to IOS 7.0.2?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

What do you mean it doesn't have sound? If it's a new machine call AppleCare, you have 90 days of support via telephone and can find the number in your owner's manual.
I'd also STRONGLY suggest you book mark and begin using:

  • Just updated to IOS 7.1.2, now some games and apps don't have sound.  What to do?

I Updated to iOS 7.1.2 and some of my already installed apps and games don't have sound.  Some apps and games do have sound.  The sound was never adjusted on any of the games.  I tried deleting and reinstalling the ones with no sound and still no sound.  how can I resolve this issue?

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap on General
    3. Tap on Reset
    4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

  • My ibook app doesn't have english dictionary.

I need to be able to translate words from English to Spanish, or know their meaning in English, while I'm reading a book with iBooks app. I have an Spanish version of this app, and appears the option "definir" when you select a word if it's in Spanish. When I read a book in English, it doesn't appears this option, only "copiar" y "buscar".
Hoy can I get the definition of a word in English?

If you want an App to use your existing photos on your iPad, but you do not see it requestin gaccess to your photos under the regular privacy setting then...you have to go under Settings, Restriction, then under Privacy click on Photos and you must Allow Changes. Then next time you try to send a picture from Twitter or Facebook it will ask you if you will allow the app access to your photos. Accept.

  • Newly downladed apps do not have sound

Since gettting this ipad for my son, I have downloaded numerous apps. The first app downladed worked fine. However, all others are silent. This is tough because sound is very important to most children's apps.
Of note. The first app downloaded still has sound and works fine. Music, movies, browser, camera and other functions still have sound and function properly. The volume is up and the music/sounds are turned on on all apps.
Does anyone know what is going on or what I can do to fix this.

    1. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right
    2. Check the volume and mute settings

  • Since the iOS 7 update, some apps no longer have sound, even of configured to do so. Example, no longer does my FaceTime ring even if I have a tone set; my email app doesn't make a sound when email comes in or goes out. Help!

Ever since I updated to ios7, sounds from specific apps has disappeared, even if configured correctly to make sounds. My mail doesn't sound off anymore when mail comes in or goes out. My FaceTime no longer rings when someone calls me. My map app no longer gives me voice instructions like it did before. If someone messages me I do not hear sounds anymore. I find it very annoying especially because I have family abroad and FaceTime is an important means of communication. I reset it by pressing the sleep and home button and all, nothing happened.
Can someone help understand how to resolve this problem.
    Thank you so very much.

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Make sure sound is not muted in Control Center; tap on the little bell. Swipe upwards from bottom of screen to launch Control Center

  • The phone app on my iPhone 5 doesn't have sound

    PLEASE HELP!!!

Try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1630, or the user troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup and restore as new. Try each step until it is corrected. Also, check the speaker volume, and that can only be done when in a call. Can you hear the phone ring?

  • Some apps do not have sound in ipad2

in my ipad, I do not get sound on some of the apps. sound is working for some apps ( like pbs kids) , also for you tube.
How can I fix it ?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
