My apps stopped unexpectedly

Days ago, I opened camera to take picture, it has stopped unexpectedly. I tried it again and again, it's stopped when I took a picture. I had to restart the phone to make it back to normal.
Today, I opened Instagram to take picture to post and again, it's been stopped unexpectedly. I tried 3 more times and the same thing has happened!
I had to restart the phone to make it back to normal.
In both situations, I checked that I had already ended any background processses.

Hi jimblr,
Sorry you are having trouble. Does your printer show up "Connected and Ready" in ePrintcenter?
These steps may help.  Turn off the printer.  Unplug your router from the power source for 15 seconds.  Plug the router back in.  Wait until the internet comes back up. (Approximately 2 minutes) Then turn the printer back on wait a bit for your pending apps to print.  Let me know if this helps.

  • Android AIR app stops unexpectedly during debugging/running on device

    Hi,
go first here and do check-list:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS144092a96ffef7cc16ddeea2126bb46b82f-8000.html
it lists supported/non-supported/check-at-runtime features - as you could use a feature that is not supported at your device (application could work in Air/Flash Builder device emulator though)
What is happening in your application when it starts? Does it load video/audio or does request to local or remote content?

  • Force close message - application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly

Just started to get the fore close message "application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly. I even did a factory reset and still it is showing up. Funny that Lenovos own App Store is causing the force close message. Frustrating....have had the K1 for 3 weeks with no problems and now this everytime i turn on the tablet i get the above message twice.

I just bought the K1 two weeks ago.  Soon after I received a system update, it said there was an App Store update available and, from then on, I received the error and force close message described above.  I just uninstalled the app and that solved the problem.  Are you suggesting that the app store app is what updates all of the apps I have loaded?  I just thought it was a marketing feature and thought it unnecessary since I could get to the app store another way by going to Apps and Shop.  Could someone clarify its purpose, please?  Thanks!

  • Multiple Apps Crashing Unexpectedly /  System Crashes

For the past few days now I have been plagued with apps crashing unexpectedly. I have ready quite a few threads on this issue, but to now avail. I have found no Ah Ha moment that gives me a fix.
This is happening on my Mac Book Pro.
So, I wanted to document my journey in trying to repair my machine.
    Archive and Install was unsuccessful.
Wiped the hard drive. No external drives connected to the MacBook Pro. Installed all updates suggested by Software Update. Installed all of my software from CDs and one downloaded from Jing.com (This is not a plug for Jing, I am only posting it as this is the only software I have downloaded. After all of that, the problem immediately came back. Apps started crashing, and the computer still went gray and told me to shut down.
So, I have now rewiped my computer and just installed the system with my included DVD. I am going to see if I can only update to 10.5.3, then only install Fire Fox and see if the problem continues.
I'll be back in an hour or less.

Here is a copy from my latest crash. Enjoy.

  • MacBook won't print PDF files, it states The process "pstopdffilter" stopped unexpectedly with status 1

Question: MacBooK won't print PDF files, after selecting print it states; The process "pstopdffilter" stopped unexpectedly with status 1. I am currently using a HP Deskjet 4400 series printer and it works fine with all our other lap top computers. Thanks for any help.

The pictwpstops filter on OS X machines, converts the job to straight Postscript before the normal CUPS filters get it.
If the Adobe APPs have a choice of what kind of PS to send, like Binary or ASCII, try toggling that setting to the opposite of what it is.
Though, if a reboot fixed it then likely the problem was a remporary bit flip, which may or may not happen again.

  • How do I fix it :: pictwpstops stopped unexpectedly with status 1

I get this message only when printing from Quark
pictwpstops stopped unexpectedly with status 1
I have deleted and replaced all ppd's and drivers relevant to the Xerox and have re-installed QuarkXpress 6.5 an it still does it I dont't have the problem with any other app, does anyone know how to fix this, it's sending my insane!!!!!!
    [email protected]

'pictwpstops' stands for 'PICT with PostScript'. PDF is the standard spool file format, but for backward compatability with applications like Quark that generate their own PostScript, the 'pictwpstops' filter is used to create the spool file.
As has been mentioned in these forums, corrupt Fonts can cause this error as can permissions.
The first thing I would do is open Disk Utility and run Repair Disk Permissions.
If the error continues after that has been performed, then look at your Font Book for duplicate fonts (marked with a dot). OS X loads fonts in an order based on the search path, the users library first, then the all users library and then the system library. You might have a case of your user font conflicting with other fonts, especially if you are using a font management utility.

  • Premiere Pro Continues to Stop Unexpectedly

I have imported several hours of footage & audio for a feature film. The media didn't have a lot of metadata so I am manually adding the date on the front of the name of each file so relinking will be easier incase media goes offline during the project. In the "Shot" collumn I am labeling each shot after referencing the slate. Pr CS6 continues to shut down unexpectedly. Each time I open it back up it recovers all changes - even if I hadn't saved for a while.
Yesterday I turned of the AutoSave (I save every few minutes as a habbit anyway) and that helped for the rest of the day. Today the problem has come back...I sure hope this isn't somewhere else in another discussion, I couldn't find it though. Thank you for your time and help!

Sorry guys, I'm still learning. Thank you all for the links and help.
    UPDATED INFO:
My Problem: As I label media in the "Shot" column (see graphic) Premiere Pro continues to stop unexpectedly (see graphics for error messages). Each time I open the project again it recovers all changes made - even if I haven't saved for a while.
    My Hardware: iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2010 | 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5 | 16 GB 13333 MHz DDR3 | ATI Radeon HG 5670 512 MB | 4 TB G-RAID G-Technology HD as scratch disk, 3.57 TB available,  Firewire800 connection
My Software & Media: OS X 10.8.2 | Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Version 6.0.2 | 295 GB of Footage Stills & Audio imported into Pr project | FOOTAGE: AVCHD 1080p, 23.976fps, square pixel, and I believe 4:2:0 8-bit 24mbps, 1 track of 48kHz stereo audio - shot on Panasonic af100 | STILLS: 1920x1080 .JPG screenshots taken with af100 | AUDIO: stereo 48kHz .wav files recored on Zoom H1 and Tascam DR-40
What I've already attempted: The crashes seemed to occur shortly after each time Pr Autosaved so I turned that function off (I manually save often as a habit). The problem ceased for half a day. The next day it came back. At the same time I was unable to download the Photoshop & Camera RAW updates (that seemed to be an internet connection issue). While rushing around in plugging/unplugging hard drives to manually save/backup the Pr files I accidentally unplugged the G-RAID - permanently corrupting the Pr project with no backup. I decided to update to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, have a beer and watch a movie (heartbroken after loosing three days of label and organizing). Next day I updated to Mt Lion and the Ps & Cam RAW updates downloaded & installed smoothly (after restarting the wifi router). I deleted all unnecessary files/apps on my iMac. With everything cleaned out & updated I created a new Pr project. The media imported and conformed smoothly. Once I started labeling the files in the "Shot" column again, Premiere Pro crashed again wight he same error notice. I can keep going for now but this problem slows things down quite a bit.

  • Com.vcast.mediamanager has stopped unexpectedly

The error message that is bombarding my phone display, constantly:
    The application Backup+
    Media (process com.vcast.
    mediamanager) has stopped
    unexpectedly.  Please try
    again.
I think it may have began after I connected my Motorola Android Pro to my PC for the first time; however, cannot confirm this is related.  I transfer files using "mass storage" so that the phone appears as a drive letter in Windows.  I do not install any special drivers or use any software.  I do not use Media manager.
During the day, when I use my Motorola Android Pro to, for example, send a text message, or receive a phone call, I have to click OK on a prompt with the error message I posted above.  The error message goes away, but will pop up again, and again, throughout the day.  I cannot answer an incoming call without clicking CLOSE on the error.  This error is relentless.  Closing the error message only makes it go away for a short time, then it comes back.  When I click the error box it states that I am "closing" the process.  It doesn't stay closed, it just comes back again.  The error pop up interrupts whatever I am doing on the phone.  I have searched the web trying to discover a resolution.  In doing so, I believe the error has to do with Verizon's VCast Media Manager app.  This isn't something I need.
I don't want "VCast Media Manager". I don't need it.  I think it has to do with backing up contacts, which is something I can do via Google.
My question is, is there a way to get rid of the offending app, and if not, what is the official Verizon fix for this so I can live without this reoccurring error?
Please, a supported solution, an no recommendations to "root" or alter my device in a way that will void warranty. Thank you.

        Hi there LazyGirl!
A reoccurring error message sure can put a damper on one's day, but please know that I'm here to brighten things up and work my magic to get that error to disappear.
Based on your description of things, I'm left to conclude that it's relative to your Backup Assistant application not working properly on your device. With that said, please go to settings > applications > manage applications > all > Backup Assistant. From there, clear data and force stop the application and see how it reacts from there. Hopefully you won't see the error again and if you do, please let me know.

  • The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly..........

i think some apps may have gotten accidentally deleted by my son. my contacts are gone and it's also saying the application google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
my phone will not sync when i press the phone button to call out it shows- sorry. the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
please help....i don't know how to fix it.

Tamsmadd, I can certainly assist you with the issues on your device. Are your contacts backed up to Google? Try logging into your Gmail account on your browser or computer to verify. First, try clearing cache/data from your Gmail application. If it is still not working after that then I suggest a factory reset. This resets the phone to factory default settings and will erase everything on the phone that is not on the SD card. Your pictures, videos, music are saved to the SD card by default on the Incredible 2.

  • CC desktop app stops launching @ boot-up & Adobe Tech Support can't fix it permanently. Now what?

Problem: Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app stops launching upon boot-up and the CC icon does not appear up on my iMac's desktop menu bar at top. And whenever I loose that, I can't open my CC apps.  Our friends in India seem eager to help and always manage to stumble onto a solution, (each time through a different process, it seems), but that lasts for only 2 or 3 boot-ups before it quits working again.
When I try to manually launch the "Adobe Creative Cloud" desktop app (by double-clicking it in my Applications folder), its red icon appears on my Dock and bounces up and down but does nothing more. My Force-Quit utility shows it as "not responding" so I have to force quit it.
My case has been elevated to Tier-2 Support but they call outside of the agreed-upon hours so I'm not here. My only recourse is to call them back, but that only gets me yet another Tier-1 technician and their limited troubleshooting playbook. I did get to talk with a Tier-2 technician once, but the results were still the same:  Manages to restore it, but after just a few boot-ups the Adobe Creative Cloud app stops launching again and I can't use my Creative Cloud tools: Ps, Ai, Id, Pr. (And leaving my workstation on all the time isn't an option.)  What DOES keep working without fail is Adobe's monthly hit on my credit card.
Has anyone else experienced this and managed to permanently solve it?  How?  I'm running a slightly older OS-X 10.7.5 and wondering if that could be a factor. Thanks for reading this and for any help you can offer.

    Hi TWalkerArt,

Erased accounts.  when you try to add an email account it says :process com.htc.android mail has stopped unexpectedly.  what do I do?

        Hello LBecker,
I've researched the difficulty you're experiencing and this is not commonly reported with your phone. What email account(s) are you attempting to add? Please go to Settings> Mail and instead of selecting a specific email provider select Other. Let us know if you continue to experience difficulties.

  • Mail app stopped working after upgrade to Mavericks

    Dear All,
I have updated from Mountain Lion (Macbook Pro 3,1, 256SSD) to Mavericks, and mail app stopped working.
That means - when I click the icon - the app does not work.
I can see that it downloads mail - as when I click it I receive notifcation that it has downloaded some mail, however I cannot open window. Sometimes I manage to open it, but it is totally unresponsive - I cannot change or click anything in it.
I have tried repairing disk permissions but without any success.
Moreover if I run mail app and try to click "new message" from the top bar, the window that appears is somewhat mixed with my wallpaper backround (I can see fragments of it).
Please help me, as I had there a few gigs of precious mails that I don't want to lose...
    Thank you in advance!
    Olek

    Do a backup.
Take notes of all account information or take screen shots. You may need to set the accounts up again. Quit Mail.
    Copy the line below.
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Select Go/Go To Folder from the Finder menu bar. Paste the line into the window. You won’t see it.
Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Relaunch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.
    Information learned from Linc Davis.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library Directory in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion & 10.8 Mountain Lion
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

  • Mail App stopped checking mail

Hi. Mail App stopped checking mail suddenly. I was able to check my mail at 10:15 this morning. Now when i tell it to get mail it does nothing at all. I repaired permissions and reboot and still no luck. Any ideas?

Try locating and deleting these two preference/plist files:
    ~(yourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
    ~(yourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist

  • My email app. stopped working.  It doesn't open any accounts

My email app. stopped working.  It doesn't open any accounts.  It used to but just opens up a blank screen.  Any suggestions?
Also Safari doesn't open up anything either, but used to.

    try restarting the app
Normally double tap the 'home' button
all the active apps will pop up at the bottom
    hold an app
once the '-' symbol appears release then find the 'hung' apps by scrolling and click the '-' symbol
    click the home key
then click on mail/safari and see if that helps
