Audio Books Playback w/Echo on 3Gs
When playing audio books on my 3Gs I'm getting a reverberate or echo to the sound. iSO 4.3.3.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it?Ok, I found my answer on page 95, http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
I needed to know how to bring up the controls for the audio playback. Mine had gotten changed to .5x speed. -
Only half of my audio book has downlanded
Hello i have downloaded a audio book, which was amazing till half way through i realised it had not downloaded fully???
Try another set of earphones. If it still does it, you may have a problem with the jack itself or where the jack connects to the logic board.

The option to play audio book has gone after IOS6 update audio books are on the iphone
Hi since updating to IOS6 I seem to have lost the ability to play Audiobook, if I go to the Ipod app the option isn't there and hen I connect to my car it says the folder is empty. Is there something I need to do to be able to play audio books. The audible app finds all the books so I know they are there, but doesn't work in the car where I like listening to books on long journeys.
anilsudhakaran Thanks! This did the trick. I guess this was added with the update since this view used to be visible for me without the added step. Greatly appreciated

Audio book has no chapter headings
Downloaded "Walden".
It appears in iTunes as Part 1 and Part 2.
No chapter headings.
No way to navigate through eleven+ hours.
Imagine a CD with no song titles.
Think of a city with no street signs.
Is this universal?
Any help?Glad you got the Audiobook sorted out. Audible.com seems to have a really good model for iTunes and iPod integrated audiobooks, as well. I've been using their service for quite some time, and highly recommend it.
In iTunes, click your iTunes menu and select Preferences. Click the Playback tab. If 'Crossfade playback' is selected, go ahead and de-select that option and click OK.

I recently downloaded an audiobook from itunes the audio book has an echo on my iPad although it works on my main mac...any ideas?
Hello robbinredbreast,
I'd recommend putting the iPod into 'manual mode.' This will need to be done from the computer that it's normally synced to in order to prevent removing existing content, but it can then be connected to your computer, and you can add the audio book without removing the current library on the device.
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers

Audio book download from iTunes where is this stored on yr iPad 2
Hi all, I am trying to find where my purchased audio book has been stored by my ipad2. I have successful purchased an podcast from iTunes and easily found how to access this. I have retraced my steps via iTunes and it is telling me it's downloaded but it's hiding and it's driving me mad. As u have guessed Christmas present, thank u
It should have downloaded into the Music app - when you have audiobooks on an iPad you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library. -

howdy apple fans!
here is my issue...
in listening to my audio books the voice has, what i can best describe as, an echo. the "echo" is close enough to the word it repeats that i can still understand the context of the words being spoken but it is distracting to listen to.
any thoughts out there on how to fix this?
thanks!

Echo in audio of audio books?
Hi I'm new to the iPod but I must be doing something wrong.
My podcasts, video podcasts, TV shows and music all sound perfect! I downloaded two audio books "Nightfall" by Nelson Demille and "Hitchkickers Guide". Both of these have an echo when I play them back. I've tried three different headsets and the problem is still there. When I play the audiobooks from the ipod through my iMac they sound perfect through all the headsets and speakers.
Do I have a problem with the pod or me?!
Any suggestions or insights welcome!
Leslie
iMac G5 2G Mac OS X (10.4.2)I had this as well and fixed it by changing the audiobook "speed".
Trying the following:
from main menu select: Settings -> Audiobooks -> and change it to Normal.
I had it set to Slow and there was an echo, but went away when I changed it to Normal.
Hope this helps.

How do you get Michael Connelly's audio book Echo Park in English... it is in French.
It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

IPod Shuffle has started playing audio books and podcasts too fast.
iPod Shuffle has started playing audio books and podcasts too fast. What can be done?
Some other iPods (that are not shuffles) have an onboard setting to change the playback speed for some types of iTunes media, such as audiobooks. But a shuffle has no screen, to change such settings.
First, do this to reset the shuffle, if you have not already
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
If that does not help, you may want to do a Restore on the shuffle. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings. The shuffle will be like it was when new, so this problem should be fixed. -

My audio books and music has frozen
Hi Floodzer,
To start your troubleshooting process, I recommend going throught the following steps from the iPad: Basic troubleshooting article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274
Follow these steps, testing after each:
Turn the iPad off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPad for a few seconds, until a red slider appears. Then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Cheers,
David
