My audio works everywhere except in my browsers - a little help?

Last week, I noticed that I had suddenly lost audio in YouTube. The video plays fine, just no sound. I verified that the sound bar was up and not muted on YouTube, as well as in my mixer. In fact, I can see the audio modulating in my mixer. It seems as though it's only in my browsers that I have an issue, because my sound tests okay from the Control Panel and I'm able to have audio and video conversations in Skype. I also tried a Google Plus Hangout last night with a friend, and that worked, too. But YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook videos have no audio at all.
I've exhausted so many suggested checks and solutions that I can't even remember how many... easily dozens. The only thing I've found that is odd is that the Openh264 Codec from Cisco was saying "will be updated shortly" until just an hour or so ago (for the last couple of days). But now that it's updated (and still activated), nothing has changed. 
I see that a LOT of people have been having this same problem for the last several years. The problems they report (for the few that were able to resolve the issue) differ, but the symptoms seem to be the same. They all seem to stem from some sort of flash configuration issue. I'm semi-literate with software configuration, at best, so I would sure appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Right-click on the YouTube video.  Does it say About HTML5 or About Flash Player?
If it says About Flash Player, then go to the mixer, open the detailed view to see all the sliders, and make sure that the volume for the Flash Player slider is not muted.

    Flash has always worked fine for me on both Myspace and all
    other applications, but for some reason for the last two days Flash
    has been acting funny on Myspace. When using both the big music
    player on band profiles and the mini player that they have on
    personal profiles, it will play music for a second or less and then
    buffer for a second or less and then play music for a second or
    less and then buffer again. If I pause the player for a while and
    then hit play it plays the music a little longer (but not much

    of things and none of them have worked. I uninstalled Flash and
    reinstalled (making sure to close all my programs before
    uninstalling). The only thing that I did in the last few days that
    might have caused a problem was to install the desktop version of
    the Internet radio from Slacker.com (similar to Last.fm). I don't
    think that did anything though, but I uninstalled it anyway just in
    case, and nothing changed.
    Anyone know why my Flash would be having problems only with
    Myspace and no other websites, and why I would all of a sudden have
    this problem even though my Flash used to work fine with Myspace?

    A quick check on the iTunes Store of a couple of your episodes doesn't show anything unusual - they aren't distorted and aren't at a particularly high level. I don't have an iPhone so I can't check it there, and can only suggest that you ask in the iPhone forum: someone may be willing to download and try an episode just to check whether it's a problem with your particular iPhone.

    On Arch it isnt throwing any error, but it is doing nothing (and extremly fast, normally it works very long). Somebody knows why it isnt working on Arch?
    PS. I have Python installed and fopen allowed in php config

    Well... putting your file in my Arch web server gives me a but of errors (as expected)  but the files is definitely read and processed.

  • Airport Express Works Everywhere Except One Place

    I have several rooms in my house with their own stereos, and my new Airport Express works on all of them. However, I have one stereo outside, in the garage and the Airport Express does not work out there. I assume that the wireless signal doesn't reach there. Is there a way to boost the wireless signal? The garage stereo is probably about 50 feet from the wireless modem, which is in the basement of my house. This is probably a dumb question, but I don't know anything!

    If the wireless signal were created by an AirPort Express (AX), an AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS), or a Time Capsule it would be possible. However it is not possible when the wireless network is created by a wireless modem.

    Tracy, first you should restart the iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.  This process could solve some of your problems.  Also make sure you have the latest update, go into  our settings>general>software update.  On the wifi issue try restarting your router, if you are still having problems try resetting your network settings, go into your settings>general>reset then tap reset network settings. 
    The battery issues seems normal, the battery will not last 24 hours.

    My MacBook works fine wifi everywhere except for home.  The home wifi is fine with the iPad and iPhone, so I assume the issue is with my computer.  My computer works fine on wifi networks elsewhere.  The only problem is at home.
    The computer "connects to the wifi," but browsers and other internet-dependent software do not work.  Curiously, if I connect the ethernet cord that doesn't work either. Usually if I reset the modem to factory settings twice (for some reason, once doesn't do the trick), my computer will fully connect to the wifi.  However, in a few days, it goes back to not working.
    Today, resetting the modem didn't work. I could only get wifi connection while in safe mode, but not in normal mode.  So, the issue seems to be software not hardware. I have tried starting new accounts in normal mode, but those also don't connect properly to internet.
    Not sure if this is relevant, but this problem started when my building switched internet providers from ComHem to Telia (I live in Sweden).
    What do you recommend I do?

    Not unless the modem is causing a problem.
    What you want to do is get it to work reliably over Ethernet first, then tackle wifi. Power off the modem. On your macbook, delete the Ethernet configuration and the Wifi configuration. Power up the modem, then connect the mac via Ethernet. Create the new Ethernet configuration and see if you can connect.

    Android team turn this features off in default. Pffff why?? ))

    You can visit http://brandy.pararuk.com and see just 15 flying comets animated with KineticJS library.
    When I run it (viewing Windows Task Manager) I see that firefox.exe consumes 100Mb of memory every second up to full avaliable memory and hangs on Windows.
    I've tested this page also on desktop with: Chrome, Safari, IE9 and on my Android tablet with: Firefox Beta, Chrome and Android browser - page works good everywhere, except of desktop Firefox.

    Did you try to disable extensions like Firebug?
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

    Using my new G5 I have the same problem, which I did not know using my old G4 with an external LaCie burner. The CD-Changer in my car is not able to read audio-cds, also my cd-player in my home hifi-system. The only way to play these audio-cds is (strange...) to put them directly in the main tuner of my car (usually used for the navigation cd), not using the Changer.
    Maybe the problem really depends on the quality of the CD-Rs. I have used CD-Rs from Sony (it´s a brand, I think?) and will try Verbatim.

    OK. I misstated this. I have a number of Smart Mailboxes with their specific rules in which to route certain topics to specify mailboxes. I am trying to not have to create each Smart Mailbox on each computer.
    The problem is that when I am on the road I add contacts, bookmarks, keychain items, contacts into my laptop and vice versa when home. I would just like to have those Sync on both computers. Seems like it should be easy, but it hasn't been.
    I really don't think I have anything "non-standard." A few Smart Mailboxes, a couple of signatures, thats pretty much it.

    As my experiences with Solaris grow, I find it even more attractive than the first glance. I installed Solaris -10 2 months agao, and everything works perfectly fine on my laptop except that i got no audio. the small icon on the system tray says no audio controller---big pain for me.
    i have tried the OSS but it still doesn't work.
    my soundcard is an on-board one, the manufacture is SigmalTel, the OSS installation programe can detect Intel ICH and its website says this kind of device should be supported. The laptop I am using is ASUS N1000, I do hope i can get over this and use the solaris on a daily basis. (no sound is definitely not a good choice for whoever spend more than 3 hours before the screen).
    So is there anyway I can get sound for my Solaris?
    Could someone give their suggestion to get audio work?
