My Safari (V5.0.1 (6533.17.8)) Auto fill forms never works. It is precisely tied to my

AutoFill completes webpage forms using information from your Address Book card or from web forms you completed previously. The information required by this form does not match any of the information available to AutoFill.
    but every thing matches.
And yes prefs checked to use address book.
    Any thoughts please? Thanks

  • Upgraded to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked my info, saved passwords, etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded.

Upgraded IPad to to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked "my info", "saved passwords", etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded. Wife is not happy I upgraded!

Auto fill works for me in iOS 8.3.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.
See here for more details on restore: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If none of these work your device may have developed a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/contact/

  • ICloud account broken? email never worked.

I have a very old account from my days before iCloud. I have the feeling that during the transition period some error accured. iCloud email never worked for my account.
If I try to activate iCloud email on my iPhone (iOS 7) i get a error message "Cannot get Mail - user name or password is incorrect". However all other services like Calendar and iMessage still sync, so the user and password can't be the problem.
If I log onto iCloud.com I get a message: "Can't load Mail - There was a problem loading the application"
I considered making a new account, but all my iTunes purchases were made with this account and using a different account for app store is really messy.
Here is the error report from iCloud.com:

Just a minor suggestion.  Since icloud and itunes store accounts are different, you can keep the old ID for itunes and use a new ID for icloud.

  • How do i delete auto fill emails on ipad

  • Auto fill is not working

ok, second question (still no free sex for a correct answer, sorry)
My i-book G4, which I bought used, does not seem to have an auto fill capability. I have looked in System Preferences but do not see anything regarding autofill. Any ideas?
Signed 'tired of typing my email addy' in Vermont

I also have "Other Forms" checked in Safari, so that shouldn't keep it from working.
I may be wrong about this, but I think autofill may work better on some sites than on others. It seems that with my mailing address, I have to fill it out manually sometimes, and other times it will autofill. Also, if you delete cookies, you have to fill in manually. At least in the OS I am running, which is not the one you would be running.
    Good luck!

  • Safari 3 Gmail auto-fill no longer working, latest Gmail software

Gmail now indicates that auto-fill (of email addresses) is not supported on Safari. They say it will work with Firefox. Auto fill worked fine until the last Gmail client update, plus Safari 3.
I feel it's in Apple's best interest to work this out with Google, quickly. Anybody else aware of this? I see multiple postings on Google's Gmail support site.

I noticed this yesterday but I swear it was working this last week and I have had Leopard and newest Safari on the machine since Oct. 30. I noticed Safari wasn't pre-filling like it used to and assumed it had to do with 1password which I have loaded up recently.
I hope Google and Apple get this worked out - I was just celebrating the fact that Safari is now able to let us use Google the way it should be used.

  • Safari Auto-fill URL Needs Work

When I begin typing a previously visited website URL into the address field, that doesn't necessarily mean that I want to return to the same page of that site which I previously visited. That means, while it's nice to have the auto-fill (or auto-complete; whatever you call it) function, I would much rather it just autofill the homepage URL of that site. Even though a drop-down menu appears with suggested URLs, many of us just type and hit enter, only to find we've landed someplace else. Many times, previously visited pages have been changed or deleted and, instead of getting the all-too familiar 'Error 404' (page does not exist), I have to enter the URL again, and then delete the part of it that the auto-complete has erroneously guessed that I wanted. Take a tip from Netscape Navigator 4.72 for Mac: auto-complete ONLY the homepage URL... nothing more. Thanks.

    Hi Mike
From other related threads, seems a number of users are waiting for something different from Apple in this area. Sending feedback to Apple via the Safari Menu>Report Bugs to Apple is one effective way of reaching Apple Software Engineers.
In the meantime, the only effective work-around is to press the space bar before typing the URL. Of course, no prompts appear, however, the long list doesn't appear either.

  • Auto Fill does not work

I have a new iMac with Lion OSX. In Safari, I checked the box for auto fill to populate my demographic info in websites from Address Book. It does not work. Any suggestions?

I am still using Snow Leopard on my iMac. I've done all that with the address book and Safari autofill preferences. I've had it that way for years, but in recent times, it seems to be completely useless, as every time I try to autofill a web form, all I get is this error dialog:
"AutoFill completes webpage forms using information from your Address Book card or from web forms you completed previously. The information required by this form does not match any of the information available to AutoFill"
Luckily, I use 1Password3 and don't have to rely on the random usability of the Safari autofill feature, but it would be good to know just what happened to make it so useless.

  • Auto fill feature stopped working

My PowerBook died, and I ended up with a new MacBook, but same OS X and same version of Safari.
Now, for many web sites, it does not auto fill, until I enter the 1st character of the 1st field?!
Does anyone know how to fix this?!
    Mark

    Mark,
    Experiment with your Safari>Preferences...>AutoFill settings.
The AutoFill Web Forms selection has three choices, and each one of them has an "Edit..." setting.
One of these is obviously causing your problems.
You can edit individual settings, remove some, or remove all of the setttings.
    ;~)

  • Deleting auto fill doesn't work

I've tried resetting safari settings and editing the auto fill in safari preferences, but some of my user names and passwords refuse to delete. I've tried "removing all" but about 20 usernames/passwords cannot be deleted. Why is this and how can it be solved?
    Thanks.

It's possible that Safari preferences have been corrupted. But you can still remove the usernames and passwords by opening Keychain Access and locating them in the Passwords > Internet list there and deleting them.

  • My Norton Tool Bar became deleted somehow. I need it so my Norton Internet Security Auto Fill feature will work. How do I get this back on the menu bar?

My Firefox Browser page use to have a Norton Safe Search Bar within the tool bar area. It has to be active thereon otherwise the Auto Fill feature of Passwords for websites I visit - which require my user name AND password - will not be filled in automatically by the Norton Internet Security 2011 software that I have on my computer.
My Question: HOW do I get that Norton Search Bar back on my Firefox Browser Page?

I had the same problem before, but i figured it out. This answer might be a bit late now....
    1. Open the Norton program.
    2. Scroll under PC protection and select Run Live Update
    3. Repeat step 2 until there isn't anymore updates available.
    4. Restart the PC
    5. Open Firefox browser
    6. If the toolbar isn't there, press Ctrl+shift+A
    7. Under extensions enable the Norton toolbar.

  • Firefox will not "auto fill" email addresses in Yahoo mail. How do I get this to work?

This used to work. I have a new laptop and am not sure if this is a laptop issue, a Yahoo issue, or a Firefox issue. It is very annoying to have to go to my address book every time I want to send an email because names are not recognized. This was not a problem on my previous lap top. I also think that this was not a problem with the previous version of Firefox.

Odd that grant_cm reported this a year ago, and it only started happening to me in the last week or so. What's more, email autofill with Yahoo still works for me in Safari on my Mac. I prefer the Firefox browser, but this issue is a real pain, and what's more your CAN'T insert a list from you address book. Sure would like to know what happened and how to fix this.
