My B&W prints have too much green how do I correct this please?
I am using no name ink with a Canon MX870 little printer (4 cartridges) and photoshop CC with Bridge CC.
Printing B&W on a color printer is actually a difficult task, which was not handled well even by good consumer-level printers for several generations of printers. Briefly, the proper balance of the four colors of ink (CMYK) has to be maintained over thousands of combinations. You may have to upgrade to a new printer to get good results.
However, I can think of three things to check. 1) If your images look good on your monitor, but not on the prints, the problem is probably that monitor is not calibrated. That would cause the images to look good on the monitor, when in fact the files are too green. If that's the problem, you need to calibrate the monitor. 2) If the images look good from some angles, but green from others, your printer has a problem called metamerism, which means it can probably never print B&W properly. 3) If your monitor is calibrated, and there is no metamerism, then the printer and inks you are using are probably not a good enough quality to handle B&W on their own. However, you could adjust the color of your files to reduce the green channel, until you find a tone you can live with. That's not a great solution, but it may be all that's available from that printer.

Did you check the volume icon on the Windows Task bar?
You can also check for problems with Flash local storage (some sites store the sound level in a Flash cookie).

I am having problems viewing my iPhoto from the dock and have to go through my applications to view. What do I have to do to correct this please? Also does the Mac have a defrag function? I have also been advised by the sales person that the Mac does not need an antivirus programme, is this true?

Second you do not have "an iPhoto" - iPhoto is an application that manages photos - the photos are stored (by default) in the iPhoto library in a SQL lite database and you use the iPhoto program to manage them

As to your other OS questions this is certainly not hte best place to address them - we are iPhoto users just like yourself here --- basically as I understand it (and I have had had Macs for 30+ years) there is no "defrag and you do not need one - and antivirus is your choice - most people feel it is a waste of money on a Mac but some like to have it

I'm trying to download itunes onto an external harddrive (named as D) which has loads of space, but it keeps defaulting to my computers (C) drive which does not have the required space. How do I sort this please?
I've tried selecting the D drive but, it still defaults to my computers drive and wont let me change it.

iTunes ONLY works on the C drive. There is no moving it. End of discussion.
The MEDIA can be house on any other drive (internal or external).
Install iTunes correctly using the default options.
Once it is installed and working correctly with everything on the C drive, close iTunes.

Using Explorer, I found how to correct this problem by going to "print preview" then selecting an option to print all pages. Firefox does not have the same selection.
This can happen when Firefox has misread the paper size from the information supplied by Windows. Clearing it can involve finding some obscure settings, but here goes:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''print''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) For each setting for the problem printer, right-click and Reset it. The fastest way is to right-click with the mouse and then press the r key on the keyboard with your other hand.
Note: In a couple other threads involving Brother printers, the preference '''printer_printer_name.print_paper_data''' was set to 256 and when the user edited it to 1 that fixed the paper size problem. If you see a 256 there, you can edit the value by doubling-clicking it or using right-click>Modify. -

I am new here, and seek some help. My wife's i-Mac computer has a problem of not printing email with black ink. However, the printer will print email text in all colors, but not with black ink. The printer goes through all the motion/movements like it is printing in black, but only a blank sheet of paper is the result. However, it will print a black horizontal line (topic divider) across the paper in black ink, if that is shown in the email. Strangely, the printer will print using black ink when asked to print a word doc. The ink jet cartridge is new, so it is not an issue of being low on black ink.

You are probably seeing this message because the camera uses the same port to charge it. The iPad can not supply the power to charge devices from it's dock connector. Also if you use the SD card adapter you are not using up the camera's battery for transferring the photos.

C100 has too much green in the video, doesnt disappear when adding magenta
So last night I was just doing some testing with the c100 and I noticed that in the viewfinder after auto white balancing, there ws a bit too much green in spots where there relly shouldnt be. I took some video and wanted to see if this was just something in the LCD screen or the actual video, and the green cast was indeed in the video. I went into the color profiles and tried adding magenta but it actually did nothing to reduce the green in the areas I was seeing it in and only made everything else more magenta.
I'm just wondering if this is a known issue or if anyone has experienced this and if there;s any real fixes.Hi JerTob,
We are sorry to hear that you are still having issues with the color casts. I suspect that this has a lot to do with the color temperature of the lighting that you are shooting in. What you have shown us is indoors, it's hard to make a distinct determination on the lighting because you could have any number of temperature bulbs in the mix. This type of mixture of lighting can have distinct effects on the color casts you see in the final image. This is especially true if shooting with household bulbs in an overhead or something to that effect.
What I would suggest would be to shoot outdoors, with the camera calibrated for such, and see if the same effect occurs. Lighting indoors can be very tricky and most videographers shooting in a professional environment use specialized lighting to correct for such casts and work with a colorist in post production to correct for exacting color.

You can create playlists on your computer's iTunes via File > New Playlist or File > New Smart Playlist . Smart playlists can be updated automatically by iTunes e.g. you can create smart playlists that contain a particular music genre and they will be updated automatically if you add music of that genre to iTunes, or you might have a smart playlist of 5* rated tracks etc
When you the sync music to the iPad, then on the device's Music tab you can select which playlist(s) to sync to the iPad
