My back up from last Thursday on my iphone 4s is now showing up in my itunes. I deleted something today and I need it back desperately. I need to restore my phone back to last Thursday when the information was on my phone. How do I find the backup on my pc and once I find it how do I move it to itunes for me to restore my phone to that day?
I wished I had known this before I said yes to using icloud. I guess those things will be lost and gone forever, since I do not want to lose my present settings and data. Also do not want to go through the hassle of backing up present, then resetting phone, then restoring oldest back up, then backing up oldest backup to pc, so I can safely backup selected items to my pc; then reset my phone again to restore latest back up. It would take way too much time and no guarantee.
I backed up my phone to my pc, but have not checked it yet, so don't know if it worked.
If I decide to quit using icloud (which will probably happen since backing up to external hard drive allows me to open backups) what will happen to my present data and settings? Will they just remain as they were without icloud, as they were before icloud? I'm scared to just delete it; not knowing what will happen. Also why is icloud now my outgoing mail server, when my web email was before I installed icloud and how do I restore my web email as my outgoing mail server. I am using yahoo/at&t for all my mail.
What will happen to my contacts, notes, messages, voice memos, calendar info, alerts, etc., on my phone if I delete icloud?

Have you backed up the device since last Thursday? If so, every time the iPhone does a backup, it overwrites the last backup. So the most current backup you have made is the one that shows in iTunes.
Your backup files are in a location on the computer, but you cannot compel iTunes to use it. This support document will show you the location. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 -
What is an exchange? I am trying to add a second iPad to my account by restoring/synching from the icloud. It asks for my exchange password but we do not know what that is.
If you are referring to the service listed in the Mail, Calendars and Contacts area, that refers to Microsoft Exchange, a server system they sell for email, calendaring and address book. If you have such a service, your company will tell you.
Exchange has nothing to do with iCloud, though, so you should not be attempting to set up an Exchange account in your iPad to get synchronization with iCloud. Here's how you set up iCloud on your iPad:

There seems to be a security issue with iPads and iTunes that has to do with the UDID. Does anyone know how to check to see if one's iTunes account is secure? How does one find the UDID? And then how does one use it to check the security of one's Apple devices and services?
This is not a security issue with iPad's, iPhones, iPods. One App maker named Blue Toad had a database of user's UDID's and it was hacked. There is no real issue here other than an app could try to identify it self as your instance of the app. Even then it only matters if there is a service attached to that app that has information about you.

I backed up my iphone last weekend. Today (one week later), I was downloading music and noticed the text messages I send to myself (about 1 1/2 years worth) are gone. Now, I can't find the backup from last week to try to get them back. help???
You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.
Unless you've iPhone 4S (looks similar to iPhone 4) -
I HAVE OLD iPHONES BACKED UP. how do i find the data and recover or delete dups and junk
You can't see the data inside the backup, and you can't restore just part of the data if that's what you're asking. To see the data you have to restore the entire backup.

How do I find the date of my last vault update?
How do I find the date of my last vault update? All but one picture in a folder is missing from my library. I want to go back in Time Machine to the date/time of my last update to restore the lost images.

How can I find the owner of a found phone that must have been reported stolen but all you want to do is find out who the person is that owns the phone. But you have no idea who the person is who stole the phone in the first place but now you only want to give it back to its rightful owner.
I found a iPhone 5s, and I'm willing to return to the owner ASAP, but it seems that "he" have not turned on "Find my iPhone".
Could anyone help me get in touch with the owner, that was probably here for the 2014's World Cup?
I'm a Brazilian Apple user, and got stolen 6 months ago. I'm fully aware of what it is. Please, don't flood me with the obvious. The law here DOES NOT WORK.
This owner must get it back, even if I must send it overseas.
Thank you for the support.

Two MaxDB crashes in the last 5 days, how can I find the reason ?
Hello,
My MaxDB-Server crashed two times in the last 5 days and I have no idea why. Can you help me to find the reason for the crashes ? My MaxDB 7.6.05 is running on a Linux server and I never had such problems before.
Here are some lines from the knldiag.err file:

Hi, yogaonmain!
I'm sorry we were not available to get that information to you. Your mobile telephone number will be listed on your paper statement. It is also typically listed inside your phone under the Settings/Phone info section.
If you need this information immediately, please call our customer service line at 800-922-0204.

In my icloud account on my iphone I have three ios devices. How do I manage the backup of my old phone ? I dont want to detete that backup completetly, just manage that phone back up ? Please help!
It will be backed up on your computer and can later be restored to an iOS device using iTunes, if desired. Of course, if your hard drive crashes you'll lose it if it isn't backed up somewhere else. If you want to included it in your computer backup, it will be located at one of the following locations:
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Windows XP: %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup -
How do I find the menue where I can select the list of previous phones I have had and my new one ? at the moment it is still set to an old one so everytime I try to set it up it tells me it it's the wrong one - gggrrrrr help please
iPods (except for iPod touch) are not linked to any iTunes "account." They are associated with your iTunes library. The account in iTunes is your Apple ID, and that is used to buy and download content from the iTunes Store. It is not required to use an iPod.
The 1st (and 2nd) gen shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library at a time. When you connect it, iTunes should prompt you to start using it with your iTunes library, and warn that the shuffle's existing content will be erased. Have iTunes erase the shuffle, and it will be associated with your iTunes library going forward. You can then add content to your shuffle.
The need for the previous owner's Apple ID and password should only come up if you are trying to transfer existing content from the shuffle to your iTunes library, AND the previous owner had content purchased from the iTunes Store. Just cancel out of that step, if iTunes asks. -

I have many photos on my computer. I have backed up the computer to an external harddrive. When I go into the external harddrive, how do I find the many albums I have stored/created in my iphoto library?
You can't view your photos in the iPhoto library in Time Machine vis the Finder. You must enter Time Machine, go back in time to the library you want to restore and restore it?
One can only restore an entire library from TM:
