My backed up apps will not restore back on my iPod touch how do I do that?

I just updated my iPod touch 4 to the iOS 5 version and when i turned it back on it had all the new features, all my previous pictures, mail, music, contacts, and videos but it did not have ANY of my apps I downloaded to my iPod touch when it was just the 4 version. I syched my iPod touch just before i updated it so i have all the apps on my computer but how can i put them back on to my ipod touch again? please answer this question! AND SOON!

After you move the stuff to the new computer let iTunes erase your iPod and replace its contents with what is now in your iTunes library.

Photos 1.5MB space used
Apps 1.8MB space used
Other 199.9MB space used

1st Question is - What is the Other?
2nd Question is - it's only 1.27GB with 2.43GB free it should download on i would think, why not?

Other is weird stuff and usually decreases when the iPod is synced. Based on iPad experience, frequently storage space on the iPad is not reclaimed (even though it says it is available) when items are deleted via the iPad. The storage space is reclaimed upon syncing. Maybe the same applies to the iPod.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

Following ultimately helped me : Make sure that you are logged in at the App Store App or iTunes App with your apple ID and password with a US account. Turn your iPad off and on and than you should see the Radio button again. It won't work if you are logged on with a foreign account. If you are not logged in at all, it worked, too.

Itunes will not restore my 2nd generation ipod shuffle. I am getting an error 1418. I am running Windows Vista so none of the fixes that I have seen seem to work for me. Is there anything else that I can try or am I ipodless until Wednesday or Thusday when the new I pod arrives? And I thought Sleepless in Seattle was bad. Shuffleless in Seattle is much worse.

just bought iphone 4 today from verizon and had the same problem. this is my 1st smartphone ever. apps all synced when i plugged it in to my computer except the music. this is what i did and it worked. plugged in phone to computer. then under the devices tab i clicked on the music tab. if you look to the bottom right of the itunes page there will be two tabs you can click on. one says settings and the other one says autofill. i clicked on the autofill and then it just started syncing. that was it. i'm not a tech guy by any means. just kinda of got lucky. i hope this helps you out. good luck!

Apps will not restore and I can not delete them.

Just purchased an iPad Air as an upgrade from an iPad 1. Backed up the iPad1 to the Cloud. Then restored to the Air. Most apps restored although it took some fiddling.
But some will not restore. Their icons are dark. Pressing and holding the icon makes them all wiggle and I hit the Delete ('X'). It confirms that I want to Delete and I hit Delete. But the icon will not go away. What am I doing wrong?

The icons are dark because they are still being restored. Hopefully you have not terminated the restore prematurely.
Note: The restore in the background can take hours if you have a slow internet.

I have my ipod touch only a short while, I have availed of the password facility and it worked well until just recently when I entered my password and didnt get into my ipod. the music seems to be still playing on random and it wont stop. I dont know how to get in to stop it playing.
i am very annoyed now and getting increasingly dissatisfied with the product as i need to use it for my studies.
please someone help!

Is it not excepting your password? is the keyboard not typing out the password you are providing?
If you are 100% sure about the password you may wish to try the options below.

Please keep in mind that if you restore from backup. And you are still not able to get in with your password. You will need to restore as new so this removes the password. Unless you have an iTunes iPod Touch backup that was backed up before you setup pass code lock.

Back Up Disc Will Not Restore!!!!!!

I've had to have the hard drive on my laptop replaced so I backed up all my purchases from iTunes onto a dvd. The hard drive has been replaced so after installing iTunes I put in my disc to restore all my purchases but I just get a box with an error message saying 'An Unknown Error Occurred (-50)' I have tried transferring the files from my old hard drive but cannot do this either. I have been told this is because iTunes will not allow me to transfer these files to another hard drive for 'copyright' reasons yet all the music I downloaded from Amazon transferred fine. Now I have already paid for these songs so I'm hoping that someone out there can tell me how I get them all back without actually having to buy them again. It seems unfair that track that I am not allowed to do this for songs I have actually paid for.

True, it doesn't help if the backup disc made from itunes doesn't work.
But if the old hard drive is still available and has the songs, the files can be copied from it to the new PC. Yes, they have DRM, but that doesn't stop them from being put on a new PC - someone gave the Banjo72 bad advice on that point. All they have to do is copy the files over, authorize their new PC, get them into the itunes library, and play them.
If you've made backups and they have failed, as I said, that is a good case to ask Apple for another DL of your purchases. Contact them to start the porcess from this page
