There are two different types of adapters by Apple that look similar. One is a 5 Watt adapter used with iPhones and iPods. The other is a 10 Watt adapter used with the iPad. Other than looking at the text on the adapter, which is hard to read, you can tell the different by looking at the socket the pin part plugs into the adapter. The 5 Watt has two notches and the 10 Watt has only one notch.
Make sure you use the 10 Watt adapter with an iPad.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Then see if placing the iPod in airplane mode when in standby helps.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

I asssume it's a laptop!
1st I would run it right down & then do a full recharge, then run it down again + a full recharge..
Check that you do not have any apps running in the background, reset PRAM..
When all's done I usually run a movie & time how long the battery lasts..if after that & no joy call Apple Help..

I have flashing grey dots in my calendar and the battery is draining very fast

My battery has started to drain very quickly in the last couple of days. it now only lasts about 3 hours after a full charge. After playing with it for hours, I can only find one strange thing. The grey dots in my calender (that show when you have an appt) are constantly blinking. I believe this may be draining the battery. Does anyone know why these are blinking and how to stop them.

Downgrading has never been supported.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

my Q10 now got very slow after the update to 10.2.1.537
It takes ages for switching from e.g. text to E-Mail Inboxes, from Hub to oriority Hub view or just to opening an email or an app. Also, it s draining the batterry very fast. Down to 20% after only 3 hrs , and than it is switching off. Even in Aircraft mode the battery is down after 5 hrs without me even touching the device.
Any clue what went wrong?

I am also experiencing all kinds of problems since the 10.2.1.537 upgrade. I now have to reboot my Q10 constantly as it will just freeze intermittently! After making a call I sometimes have to wait 5 minutes+ untill I can make another call. My battery also drains very fast - I have to charge it everyday.

i am using an iphone 3G. When i came to bahrain, i changed a new sim and the battery started draining very fast. hardly it stays for 5 hrs even without using. the same problem arose when i changed the sim in london and istore replaced a new phone for me. Can any one let me know a solution why the battery drains so fast and how do I fix it. SIM change may be accidental also.

Battery drains very fast on 4S after upgrading to iOS 6

My phone battery was performing reasonably fine before the iOS 6. Now:
The battery gets drained very fast. It used to last for 24hrs (on average) on the previous OS but now does not work for than 14hrs.
The phone gets switched off when the battery reaches 10%. So basically I am only using 90% of my battery
If Apple is not going to fix this issue then i have no solution except to downgrade it to iOS 5.1.1
Any suggestion or advice would be greatly appreciated.

battery is draining very fast 50% in just 1 hr... while doing sme basic work
and when i turn on cellular data... network goes off zero and after 10 mins i get network coverage... !!

. I have purchased a brand new Lumia 1320 almost one month before. From initial days, the battery is draining very fast, from 6% per hour to 11% per hour depended upon use. I have already written to nokia care, but did not get any reply in one week. I already have optimised the phone for saving battery, according to suggestions provided by Nokia website. Just want to know if any body facing same kind of problem. Any kind of help on the topic will be appreciated. I am quite bother about the problem. If there will be any solution that can help me avoiding the service centre, i will be obliged.

Thank you for the solution, you have given. I already have applied most of the solutions. Like, I had closed most of the apps which was working in background. I am also not a gamer, so there is not a single game in my phone. I use my phone mostly for browsing purpose with 3g network activated. This is the main service I want to use, so can not operate on 2g. As, the advertisement shows more than 24hr of use on 3g, I only use browsing for some one to two hours on daily basis. So, it should not be responsible for draining battery overnight, when the battery is strong enough of 3400mha.
Rest of the solutions, I am going to apply. Will let you know, if my problem will be sorted out. Thanks again.

What have you figured out? Anything? What you show just shows a pretty quiet system except for firefox having a bunch of tabs open. You've got some page ins and outs so you maybe your'e hitting your HD with swap files more than what you think?
I think something like coconut battery app or something like it will tell you the charge cycles on the battery. How many do you have?
Lastly, are you using any extensions like ad blocker, or click to flash?

I'm having the same problem with my 3Gs. In my case it is not the apps int he background or the brightness, or wifi or email push. The folks at the apple stroe tell me that there is some software glitch that shows up every few months.
I can only get rid of it by restoring my phone as a new device. In which case I lose all of my contacts, settings and all data. VERY frustrating. I had recived two new phones (before applecare ran out) and have done the resotre several times. No one can tell me what is in that creates this probelm. I've tried differenet chargers one by one in case they are the probelm. one int he car, one in a kitchen outlet, one at my home computer (sync) and on at my office computer (non-sync).
Problem just showed up again randomly two days ago, no new apps or hardware. battery drains from full to 0 in two hours.
