AnaMusic, greetings;  Clearly your fingertips are magical.  Mine obviously are contaminated with some vile substance.
Somehow the prefix is being altered and obviously the result is not the intended one.  I have to figure this out so as not to send others into black holes.
Ciao.
The TOU is clearly a frustrating factor when golden opportunities appear such as this....
But anyway and back on subject, no need to visit Her Majesty's Realm for battery info:

Now I wonder if we haven't scared the OP off with this cornucopia of factoids, for not a peep has been forthcoming!

  • HT5012 I have a first generation Iphone 5 and my question is why is my phone heating up so bad to the point where its almost to hot to touch on the back. On top of that the battery is dieing so fast that it usually lasts about 3 hrs on a full charge. Help

So basically my iPhone 5 has been heating up so bad that it feels like its about to over heat and die. I've never had this happen to any other of my iPhones.  On top of that the battery is dying so fast that on a full charge is lasts about 3 hrs give or take. Ive tried closing all my apps like i usually do anyways, i tuned down the light, I've reset it and booted it back up, reset it and used iCloud backup, ext... Nothing is working. I'm to the point where i  almost want to get a new phone. I even tried calling apple support and they couldn't help me cause from what it sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. If anyone has any comments on how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it . I do love apple products and i have a upgrade and plan on upgrading my phone when the new one comes out but for the time being IDE like to fix the phone i have now that I've only had for a little bit anyways. Thanks

You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
    Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.
    Cheers,

  • Why battery is dying too fast after iso5.01 upgrade

why battery is dying too fast after iso5.01 upgrade,  It is dying on an average of 13% every hour and a half, in sleep mode.  I've tried hard restart and restore in I tunes, no difference!  It got worse after I upgraded to 5.01.  This has to fixed If I dont use the phone it will need a full charge by noon.

Do a forum search and try some of the suggestions there before starting a whole new thread about battery issues.

  • My computer is 3 1/2 months old and my battery is dying really fast what can I do to increase the battery life??

My computer is 3 1/2 months old and my battery is dying really fast what can I do to increase the battery life?

    Hi,
    I asssume it's a laptop!
1st I would run it right down & then do a full recharge, then run it down again + a full recharge..
Check that you do not have any apps running in the background, reset PRAM..
When all's done I usually run a movie & time how long the battery lasts..if after that & no joy call Apple Help..

  • How come all of a sudden my iPod touch 5th generation battery is dying so fast?

I'm very picky on how I charge my battery because I don't want to complete kill my battery. But all of a sudden my battery is dying fast. Overnight, it kills about 30 percent with no apps open. It used to last all day but now it doesn't even last half the day

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • My iPod touch battery is dying really fast?

These past couple days my iPod battery has been dying fast! I don't have much on my ipod.. I have 299 songs, 3 internet apps (Youtube, FB, & iFunny), 5 Games (Temple Run, Solitaire, Jewelz, Angry Birds and fruit Ninja) Plus the required apps that I have to have on there. Oh, I also have 40 photos.. roughly.
But anyway, even when I leave the iPod alone the battery runs down! Like, this morning I woke some up with my iPod dead when I went to bed the battery was half full. I restored it, I deleted some songs on my ipod, i deleted some apps, and I decreased my brightness. Why is my iPod dying fast?
I got the ipod in October and never had battery problems before with any iPods that I have owned.

When not using the iPod, turn airplane mode on. WHen sleeping the iPod can do things and if it tries and connects to wifi it can discharge overnight.

  • My iPod battery is dying VERY fast, Help?

I have an iPod touch 4th gen. and i love it. The problem is that the battery dies very fast. It will be completely charged and then 15 minutes later after facetiming or something it will be almost dead. But, when i turn it off it charges back up a little How do I fix this? Help? I use my ipod for school and i cant use it much when the battery is almost dead.

It would be a good idea to have the techs at the Apple store genius bar test the iPod Touch and see if the battery is failing...that is a very fast drain problem.

  • IPhone 4 battery life, Why does it die so fast and what can I do?

I have had an iPhone 4 for a little over two years now and feel like recently, my battery is dying so fast.
When I go out for the day it always dies before I get home, what I think it is, could be that I take a lot of pictures and use many picture apps, but I don' think that it has always been this bad. NO matter what I do, when I go out to shoot at the park, it dies within a few hours. I hardly use it for other things besides that and it still dies. Yesterday when I left the house at 12, and came home at 5, it was dead.
I did all of the things I read about that I need to do, like closing the apps, etc.
I don't get it, is it me, or the battery being old or what? Should I buy a portable charger or do I need a new phone?
I have a question about charging the battery as well. A coworker of mine told me that you need to let your battery die out every time, and then charge it, but I never do that. Is that neccessary to save the battery?
    Thank you.
(*not sure what the difference is between CDMA and GSM? sorry)

Thank you, I am going the Apple store today for a genius appointment. L
ast night I let it die, and charged it to 100%, then I unplugged it and went to sleep. at 530am it was at 98% - I used it quite a lot for texting, and taking and editing pictures and use of the internet. it just died at 1:30pm, so it lasted exactly 8 hours.
    Thanks again.

  • Why is my battery for my I phone 5 dying so fast?

I have only had my phone since friday and the battery is dying really fast all the time? What should I do?

How fast? For an interactive game that uses data (cellular or WiFi) you should expect about 5 hours of battery life. Are you getting less than that?

  • Iphone 5 battery keeps dying! Will apple charge me a lot??

Iphone 5 is just out of warranty and the battery keeps dying so fast! So from 70% it dies and then have to wait ten minutes for it to come back on! To then have the percentage at 1%!!! So disappointed with apple. Will they charge me for a new battery???

If out of warranty, yes, they will probalby charge you.
Try restoring the device as new, i.e. without your backup.

  • Just in last two days, my battery is dying at extremely fast rate. Why is that?

Just the past two days, my IPhone 4 battery is dying at an extremely fast rate. Why is that?

Exactly the same situation with me, except I am about to get my third phone. I bought the first one only 5 weeks ago and in one week had to have it replaced. Now I have to do it AGAIN! This appears to be a two year recurring problem and I am not finding any answer here, beyond reboot (which does not work, in my case at least). I get the feeling that nobody at Apple is listening.
I need to be able to rely on my phone. For example, my daughter tried to call me from school yesterday with a semi-emergency and because I had not noticed that it was below 50%, I missed her call. My phone was dead as a doornail. This is not acceptable with me. Given that we can't simply replace the battery, but have to start all over with a different phone (notice, I did not say NEW) every time, it is pretty much souring me on iPhones.

  • Why my battery is dying fast

Hi my baettry is dying very fast

I have the same problem after upgraded to IOS 6 on my iphone 4S which is only about 3 months old.  There are many threads on Apple communities about this same problem now,   I wish I have checked out the communities before I upgraded it.  Hope Apple will fix this soon. It appears that the new Maps app is the problem when I am using it the phone gets hot and battery drained 1% every 10 seconds.
In a mean while, my phone is getting warmer than usual, so I think I will have to restore it back to IOS 5.1 before anything else worse happens, or burns my batter's life forever.

  • I got a new IPhone 4s and the battery dies way to fast!!

I got my phone 2 weeks ago and it was ok for 1 week and then after that the battery began to die way fast. You see my phone used to last with wifi the whole day but now it lasts for 5-7 hrs. Also by standby it last around 36 hours. I also turn off everything what I don't use like push email, notifications, location services, 3G ( celluar data), turn off apps that i don't use at the time. And no change. I really want to fix this problem. Please someone help!!!!!

so it's still under warranty.  Don't rely on message boards when you have access to Apple trained technicians to help you.

  • Battery quickly dying?

I bought my macbook four months ago. It is frequently used for school, and I am afraid the battery is dying really quick.
    coconut battery says:
    Current Battery Charge: 3748 mAH
    Maximum Battery Charge: 4037 mAh
Current Battery Capacity: 4037 mAh (80%)
    Original Battery Capacity: 5020 mAH
Battery-Loadcycles: 128 (Which really is too much, I think)
    Age of Mac: 4 months
I have calibrated it twice, and I use it on the lowest screen light setting, so it usually lasts about four to four and a half hours. Sometimes for five.
I never had a macbook, or a laptop before, and I am worried I am not properly taking care of the battery.
I usually use it until it dies, then let it charge all the way before using it again.
If I am in the middle of doing something then I will let it charge while I use it.
Is there anything I can do, or should be doing?

    Hi cuethesun,
To have 128 cycles after 4 months of use is some very heavy usage. You're averaging more than a cycle per day! While not a bad thing, understand that such heavy usage may require you to replace your battery annually (if you even get that far). Is there any particular reason that you're completely discharging and recharging the battery, daily?
The current charge capacity is definitely lower than it should be after only 4 months, but at such a high cycle count in such little time I'm unsure if it's a situation where the battery might be defective or is just being depleted faster than expected.
Are you near an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider? It might be worth it to get the battery diagnosed and checked out, just to make sure everything is within spec.

  • Brand new iPhone 6 battery life dropping very fast and charging even faster

my brand new iPhone 6 that I have just recently started using the day before has a surprisingly bad battery life. whrn first turning on the phone to use the battery life only last 1-2 hours with average use. when the battery died this morning I pluhe'd the phone into charge and the battery is charging very fast already at 25% and only being charging for about 15-20 mins. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and if it is normal or if I have just recieved a faulty iPhone 6?

    Can you check:
    1. What apps show on settings - general - usage - battery usage?
    2. How many apps have permission to use cellular data?
