My BB 8900 constantly is trying to send and receive info from the network
The connectivity arrows are on almost constantly - thereby draining the battery within a 8hr period.
I have checked to make sure there is no programs that are running. I even had rogers replace it, only to have it happen again.
Does anybody know why this would be happening?
thanks!
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You have some app running that is constantly using your network connection to do something. It could be your browser -- if it's left on an active web page that auto-refreshes, that will do what you describe. It could be a news app -- if you leave it running in background and it has a short interval for refreshing it's news articles, that would result in what you describe. It is doubtful that this is an email issue -- if you have BIS email conduits, traffic to your BB is only generated when there is a change at your email server that needs to be pushed to the BB...there is no check for new email directly between your BB and your email server...BIS functions as that bridge.
Hold down your BBKey and look at the ribbon of apps...one (or more) of them is the offending app here. Check them all and always properly close apps when you don't want them to be able to do this. The red and the back keys do not, btw, properly close apps...only pressing the BBKey and selecting Close or Exit truly closes down apps...the other keys leave it to the apps to decide what to do, and many are traffic generators (e.g., twitter, FB, MySpace, news readers, etc.).
Good luck and let us know!

I used to find it very useful to drag and highlight all the info in the header of the email including sender, cc, date, subject etc to be able to paste in into other docs as reminders of who sent what when. Now I have to do 2 copy/pastes. Not a deal killer but makes my life just that little bit more unnecessarily complicated.
There is usually a toolbar button in the editor to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each.<br />

is it free to send and receive texts from another EE customer who is abroad?
Hi
Welcome to the EE Community! Provided you're texting an 07 number, it won't cost you anything extra to text someone abraod (provided that's included in your package). It will cost the person abroad to reply (but not receive texts), unless again they have some sort of add on in the country they're present in. Cheers,

Send and receive email from midlet app
I know it has been asked many time in this forum, just want to make it clearer for me. Is it possible to do these from midlet without using servlet? And why many people tend to use servlet than just make it directly from the midlet?
And if I'm trying to encrypt the text being sent, should i encrypt it in the midlet or in the servlet? Thanks. Is it possible to do these from midlet without using servlet?Yes. You will have to either implement the mail protocol yourself or use some third party implementation for sending and receiving mails.
And why many people tend to use servlet than just make it directly from the midlet?I guess this is because JavaMail apis are readily available which makes the task simpler. -
On Imac I am not able to send or receive messages. All software is updated. My iPad that uses the same email address and the Cloud, sends and receives just fine. It is not "the colored" thing that is spinning but the little black and white circular icn that is spinning away. My other email address is functioning fine. It is merely the ICLOUD based email that is acting up. Any ideas?
First try deleting the account and reinstall it.

My iPhone only sends and receives messages from email
I am switching my iPhone 3GS formerly on AT&T to Straight Talk. I set up my phone, but the iMessage is acting up. I sign in to my Apple ID, and it has my number (grayed out) and my email as options to send and receive messages. When I go into settings > messages > send and receive, it only shows the email. This is very frustrating and I just want to figure it out. Any ideas?
It's because the phone number hasn't activated yet. This could be because the APN settings for Straight talk are not correct. It also can take up to 24 hours for the number to activate through the iMessage servers.

TDMS: is it possible to use sender and receiver client within the same SID
Hi all
I have a general question about TDMS: i always read that it is possible to refresh data from a productive system/client to a test system/client, e.g. PRD100 => DEV100. But is it also possible to refresh data from one sender-client to the receiver-client inside the same system using TDMS, e.g. DEV100 => DEV200.
i'm asking because if i start to build up a new client using tdms the first step is to build up the client using package "ERP Initial Package for Master Data & Customizing". This includes under point "data transfer" the step "lock the system" with teh following description:
Lock System
Activities
During data deletion in the receiver client, the tables are dropped. All clients in the system are affected by this procedure. Consequently, all users in all clients in the receiver system must be temporarily locked while the data deletion takes place.
The function for this activity locks only the current client. If the receiver system is a single client system, it is sufficient to execute the function. If, however, the receiver system is a multi-client system, the user in the other clients must be locked using standard means.
Anyone has any experience with this scenario inside the same system?
Regards
AdrianYou can run TDMS package on the same system and between different clients. However SAP don't recommend to run TDMS package on the same system.
There are 2 ways to delete data in receiver system: Array delete and drop insert.
You have to use Array Insert only which is usually very slow as it first select all the relevant entries from the tables in the target client and then drop it. So, it is slow.
Drop insert is much optimized and fast but the same can not be used in this use case.
That is the reason SAP don't recommend to have TDMS run in same system. -
My partner and I both have iPhone 5s and an iPad. We registered all three products with the same iTunes account as we download music and movies together. I have noticed when my partner sends me a message it also appears on my phone that I have sent it AND recieved it. The same goes for when I text him. I send the message to his phone and my phone also recieves it. Facetime does the same thing. Its very strange. Does any one know what I can do to stop this from happening?
To stop this, don't use the same Apple ID on both phones for iMessage and FaceTime. (You can continue to use the same ID for iTunes; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID used for iMessage or FaceTime.)
On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime. -
Stop Sending and Receiving Emails for the employee which is no longer exist
Exchange 2007
Hi There,
I have lot's of mailboxes in my exchange server which their users are not with us anymore.
I would like to stop receiving any emails for them.
I know if I go to "Mail Flow Settings\Message Delivery Restrictions\Accept messages from\Only Senders in the Following List" and select a dummy user it works but it sends my server information to the sender. and I do not want to give the
information.
Any idea how to:
Stop sending / Receiving email for these type of users?
OR
Changing the respond message?
Thank you in Advance for your timeYou have a couple options. Removing the mailbox would be the simple solution to stop mail flow, but I am assuming you need the mailbox which is why you have not taken this route.
Alternatively, if you have a message filtering solution in place that sits in front of your Exchange environment, you may be able create a filter to block inbound messages for a specific address so the message never reaches your internal Exchange servers.
This would prevent any information regarding you Exchange servers being returned.
If you do not have a filtering solution to do this, you can create a delivery status notification (DSN) so that a custom response is returned when messages are sent to a mailbox. Refer to this article on creating a DSN:

How to have an Oracle procedure send and receive value from a java program.
The below procedure is place inside a package. This procedure "get_extract_ready_headers " is selecting columns store_number, terminal_number, tran_number, tran_date, cust_id from the source REX_HEAD_EXTRACT table. This information is selected into a ref cursor. The data has cust_id field which is encrypted. How do I modify the procedure get_extract_ready_headers and accomplish 2 things?
1. Make this procedure to read the "cust_id" value from the source table and send the value to a Java program "getheaderinfo" (this java program decrypts the cust_id field).
2. When we get the unencrypted value back from the Java program, make the procedure accept this decrypted value and use it to update CUST_ID value in the target table TRAN_HEAD table. I am using Oracle 11.2.0.2, and TOAD 10.5.1.3.

INSERT INTO table_b( cust_id, <<other columns>> )

You would need whatever machine hosts this program to expose an appropriate API (for example, a web service interface) that you could invoke via UTL_HTTP). You'd need to tell us what that API was, however.
