My bbm channel

moved to "BBM for BlackBerry" board

Sorry...nobody here can do anything about it. We don't work for BlackBerry. This is a peer to peer forum where users help other users. I'm sure when they see the reports, if there's nothing wrong, nothing will be done.

Can someone give me a link for channels  desktop so I can work on  my channel from my desktop.  The help on the phone menu is sending me to www.bbm.com/channels but this never shows up on some searches and others there is no sign in capabilities. I'm sure I'm at the wrong location, can someone direct me to another link?

The product is barely out of beta, so I'm sure more features will be coming as things progress. I actually use the web app (technically, it's not a desktop app) all the time for my BB KB update channel...it's the best method for me to post (near) simultaneous to the channel as well as twitter (copy once, paste/post twice).
You are welcome, and good luck!

  • Problem signing into Beta BlackBerry (to get BBM Channels)

I hope this is the right area to post my issue.
I want to download BBM Channels to my Z10.
When I try signing into BlackBerry Beta Zone, it says they cannot validate my email?
The only thing I can think of is that my email was associated with an older BlackBerry PIN, where I used BBM once or twice.
    Any advice would be great?

  • How to use bbm channels

    Hi,
in the keynote there was talk about bbm channels, and the press release states that we can 'connect and share' using channels.
Problem is, I can't for the life of me figure out how this bbm app works.  The only thing I can find is that I can connect to someone, not to a channel.
So, how do I follow a channel?  And if I need a newer OS version, then why doesn't any of the press releases say this?
    Using Z10 with 10.0.10.690

The current version Channels is only included in the BetaZone upgrade.
Have you made that upgrade yet?

  • RE: BBM Channels and News Feeds?

    Hello there.
Once I have created a BBM channel is there any way I can link it up to an existing newsfeed of mine, so that I can have the channel post the same newsposts as I do on other websites?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I, too, have desired that...on my KB channel, I post to both the channel as well as two twitter accounts simultaneously. But, so far, I have not found any interface that will integrate BB Channels into their environment. My best hope remains HootSuite...they already integrate Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, and other social networking environments; I am wishing that perhaps the good folks at HootSuite will someday be able/willing to add BB Channels to their platform.
As for the BB Channels platforms themselves (device and web-portal)...at present there is no integration to other social networking environments.
    Good luck!

  • Select All in a BBM broadcast

I would like to have this feature (Select All in a BBM broadcast) added back to OS 10. The main point of having/using BB is the ability to send broadcast messages! My 153 contacts may not be a whole lot in the big scheme of things, but it is a royal pain in the butt to be selecting each one by one!!!!!!!!!!!! I have patiently waited for my Z10 and OS 10 and resisted all efforts to woo me to Samsung and iPhone, so please don't let me regret my decision!

  • New Blackberry user - my BBM is not working! Please help

    Hello,
I've purchased my new blackberry yesterday morning. Then at afternoon I plugged it into the charger and started using.
I sent my new bb pin to my friends and they said they sent me their contact requests to my bbpin but I'm not receiving anything.
I also can't send any pin message. It says "service is blocked" in red.
Please does anyone know why this problem is happening?
    Thanks!!

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • BBM issue faced on Z10. HELP NEEDED

There seems to be a problem with my BBM feature. I cant seem to bbm with just ONE contact. I can receive pings from him but when I ping or text him, I get a red cross by the side. His contact picture shows up on my device but my contact picture does not show up on his.
Yesterday we were able to use the video call feature on BBM but not anymore today, so i guess something got worse?
I can bbm with other contacts just fine and he can bbm with other contacts just fine.
We both receive emails, facebook and twitter notifications just fine too.
I really don't know what the problem could be.

  • Email service blocked and BBM not working on BB torch slide

    HI.
I have real issues with my phone. First, my BBM stopped working, so I thought it was the bbm rim server because all other applications were working(whatsapp, email, facebook etch). Then I stopped receiving emails. Again, I didn't take it too seriously until I tried to send emails and a red cross appears with a message saying "service Blocked".
At this point, it is strange cause my browser works and my facebook. What really got me pissed was that my whatsapp stopped working as well, and I'm no longer on my mobile service plan, I'm using wifi at home. I was two seconds away from resetting my phone when it occured to me that it might not solve the problem.
I have looked at other possible solotions online and my phone does not have the advance system settings or the enterprise activation menu. I don't know what to do, HELP!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Some clarification is needed...I cannot tell exactly if your device is a BES-enabled one or not...if it is, then stop now and seek support from your BES admins as they control, well, everything.
If you are not BES, then with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Then again...
    misskedia wrote:
and I'm no longer on my mobile service plan, I'm using wifi at home.
If, by that, you mean that you have allowed your mobile service plan to expire, then that could explain everything. There are many services on BBs that are proprietary, and access to them requires subscription to an adequate data plan from your provider, regardless of the channel you use them through. Even if you only use WiFi as your connection pathway, you still must have an adequate data plan from your carrier in order to do many things, including email and BBM.
So if that's the case, then it explains everything...sometimes, when a data plan is allowed to expire, it takes the carrier a few days (sometimes longer) to "catch up" and shut things down that you are not paying them for.
    Good luck!

  • BIS, Email and BBm abroad on a PAYG sim?

Hi All, currently on UK Orange carrier. Leaving the country for the foreseeable future. So am buying myself out of my contract but keeping my Curve. Want to take it with me to Thailand and continue using it. I can get it unlocked by Orange which is fine. My question is this:
Can i pay for internet service and email/BBM etc  monthly straight to blackberry and can i then continue using my phone on a normal Pay As You Go simcard that i'll buy when i'm out there? If so, how do i go about setting up payment straight to RIM?
    Cheers!
    Sam

You do need the device unlocked, yes. Orange will usually do that for free. If not try unlock.berryreview.com for a reputable low cost unlocking vendor.
I don't know any companies that offer the BIS BlackBerry Internet Service without voice, as the SIM card in the device is part of the connection to the device to register the Data Plan on the device. Does that make sense?
Several carriers around the world do offer PAYGO voice and Blackberry Data Plans. However I don't know which carrier you are looking at in what countries.  Say you were traveling to Thailand, you would need to investgate those carriers ahead of time.

  • Email and BBM not working

    Hi,
My email services and Blackberry messenger are still not working, despite the fact that the disruptions of last week have apparently been fixed. However, I am able to access the internet.
On the setup menu it says that there are two email accounts, but when I click on it, it says that there are no activated accounts and there is only the option for enterprise activation. The Blackberry and 3G sign at the top of the screen are present and in capitals. I have tried pulling out the battery and rebooting. I have re-registered with the host routing table. I have also called my carrier (t-mobile), who have said it is not a problem with them.
It's been over a week now that my phone hasn't been functioning properly. Can someone please help?
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! But, I am distressed by one thing...

For them to successfully fob you off that way is, IMHO, inexcusable. Regardless of where the root of the problem is (e.g., the RIM network or the carrier network), your carrier remains responsible for ALL of your services and support. After all, you pay them every month for your services...they are not delivering those services. Only they have the ability to seek for you any support from RIM...you have no direct channel to RIM...only via escalation from TM can you get support from RIM. It is so sad that so many CSR's at carriers are responding like this and fobbing their paying customers off. I encourage you to ring them back up and impress upon them that your service and support contract is with them...and they are responsible for providing that support and service, including escalation into RIM if necessary.
    Good luck!

  • Email and bbm

how do i change from enterprise email to personal and BBM will not work just says setting up BBM and wont go no further. help please

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To use the proprietary BB services (including Push email capability, BBM, etc.), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a Push-email enabled BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), your BB-proprietary services will function (e.g., you will have Personal/Internet Email added to the email setup wizard, your BBM will function, etc).
With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible to tell you specifically what any service plan might actually provide. Only the carriers can answer that question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you desire, and then talk to your carrier about obtaining (from them) a data plan that enables what you desire.
    Good luck!

  • If I delete my blackberry ID and create a new one with the same email will I still be able to get my old bbm contacts?

Hi so I forgot my bbid password and answer to security question so Im stuck now..please RIM really this is poor that you dont have a sytem to reset it without those two things I see hundreds of posts all over google with people with this problem so if there is a way let me know but as you can see in the subject that's my question if it's not possible to reset it without security queston answer
    Regards
    Garry

It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.
Read this for full information and suggestions to regain access to your BBID >> http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/How-to-regain-access-to-your-BBID/td-p/25467...
You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.
    Good luck.
