My BlackBerry 9720 is suddenly dead

My BlackBerry 9720 is suddenly dead, in the past few days it hanged in a lot and I had to restart, now it is completely dead.
Plz heal ASAP

Try connecting to pc to see if the pc is able to detect it

    I know batteries gets wear over time, and that once should be exchange, but I believe that a suddenly dead is not normal
    Up to yesterday, batterie has been working good, and after aprox 400 charging cycles baterie was performing quite good (more than 1 hour of batterie). Mostly with charging cicles from 55% to 75%.
    Today, suddenly, running on batterie on about 40% to 45% the computer got turnned off, plugen in, turning again, message was clear: your battery condition is poor and WILL NOT CHARGE AT ALL (not exact those words)

    Sure it is the battery, a second battery works without issues in the same computer
    About SAI, sorry, SAI is spanish, I meant UPS. And as a  most of the time, I have the laptop pluged in. So, a battery that would lask matter of minutes would be enough to avoid unexpected loss of power (and to avoid daily wear of the second battery)
    I presume that if the cotrol circuit fail, there is nothing to do with that battery, even the cells have half life trough ...

    Connect the player in Recovery Mode and reload the firmware again. Maybe try an earlier version - see the link in my signature line. PB

    I have never read a fix for that problem if a hard reset didn't fix it. I wonder what the shop did to fix it, and if they gave you any warranty on the repair.

  • X200 battery suddenly dead

    Disapointingly  the 9 cell battery of my x200 (FRU 42T4540, serial number 1251, Sanyo) is now dead. The power manager reports a current capacity of 74 Wh (out of an original capacity of 84 Wh) and says it is 100% charged but with "no activity". If I disconnect the power supply the computer immediatly powers off.  If I tell the power manager to do a battery reset, the laptop also powers off. The battery has 194 cycles which maybe is an average number of cycles to show some degradation, but I wouldn't expect the battery to be reported as healthy and 5 min later to be completely useless.
    I have owned several thinkpads and although I had seen batteries going bad with time, I had never experienced this kind of sudden dead. Is this normal?

    I have recently got a Blackberry 9720 - however I am having a few problems.  Firstly when I connect to the Blackberry Desktop (which I have reloaded 6 times now), it doesnt see the applications on my phone, it doesnt sync correctly with Outlook.
    Also when trying to connect to my car set it it is telling me I have 1700 contacts in my phone,  I dont !!  Again I have deleted the database 6 times and still no luck
    Please can you help

    And you checked the music app to make sure that you have no sound in any app at all, including keyboard clicks, email and app notifications and everything that uses sound on the iPad - correct?
    If you have nothing - not sound anywhere - reboot the iPad.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If you have sound in the music app, but nowhere else, system sounds are muted.
    System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
    Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
    If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
    If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
    If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

  • Blackberry cuts out suddenly

    Hello
    My BB has developed a habit of cutting out suddenly while I am on the phone.  The line goes dead without warning and the screen goes black and the BB won't start again.  It seems to be low on power because when I recharge the battery it works again. However, even though fully recharged it happens again.  I have tried taking out the battery and restarting.  Is it possible my battery is just faulty or is there another possible explanation before I go buy another battery.  Thanks for any help.

    Which BlackBerry device are you using? Is it a new device? It seems that you battery has been drained out. This is usual for  a new battery. You can consider changing the device battery. In case of new device claim for warranty.

    i m feeling like a fool after buying a blackberry curve 9220 white handheld from snapdeal. i received the phone in the last week of april'13 and on 31st may'13 my phone got dead. i submitted to the service centre in ahmedabad @ mithakali on 3rd june'13(WORK ORDER NO. - (personal info removed)223). i have been told that it needs to be sent to bangalore and will be back in aroung 15-20 days. still i have not received my phone. no one from blackberry is responding to me. from service centre ms. shweta told me that it will take one week - the same reply since last two weeks. mr. chintan has cooperated well on the no.((prsonal info removed)70). mr. chintan said that this service centre does not belongs to him so he has given me one more contact no. of mr. pravin - (personal info removed).
    i m trying to get connect to this no. since last two days. this no. is either busy or not getting replied. i tried this no. in last two days for more than 50 times atleast. today mr. chintan has given me one more no. of mr. prashant ((personal info removed)13). he asked me for the WO no. and told me that some one will get back to me. i got a call from mithakali service centre and same reply - one more week. now mr. prashant is also not replying my phone. i m really not understanding a phone like blackberry which i hardly used for 4 weeks is lying with service centre since almost last four weeks. now in no way this phone is acceptable to me. now this long message is my last hope. i hope to recieve at least a reply as this is the longest message i have ever drafted in my life and that too for a bloody phone like blackberry. black service and black associates.

    As a user-to-user community, no one here can answer your question with any level of authority whatsoever. BlackBerry provides zero front line support to end users, including warranty...all support starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and authorized service centers, all who can escalate cases into BlackBerry at no charge to the end user.
    So, your escalation path is not here, in these forums. Rather, it is through your service center and/or place of purchase...even if they may have so far been unhelpful. You have no free path by which to bypass them, and should be escalating to their management levels.

    Hi, I have a 9720 for 3 weeks now, for the last 3 days when I want to download anything from the internet the phone freeze. I am unable to do anything including receiving text or calls. The backlight stay on. It stays like that for not less than 2 minutes up to 30 minutes. It is not the mmc as I have changed it with 3 different mmc. When its frozen and I pull the mmc it responds after a few seconds though. Help please

    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • Tutorials for Blackberry 9720

    I have had the 9720 for about a week now and I am struggling with the new OS and its peculiarities. Does anyone know of a decent range of tutorials for this OS? The user manual is OK but like most Manuals it assumes that I have had experience with a Blackberry.
