    Hey hakmilton,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest contacting your network service provider to look at possible repair and exchange options.  Since you tried a new battery and the LED won't come on, we can not even try reloading the device software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • My Blackberry curve 8520 wont turn on or charge

My blackberry curve 8520 doesnt turn on and when i try to charge it , there is just the red LED light and the screen shows up some picture which shows a red cross on top of a battery. I also tried to connect this to my computer but it doesnt respong and also try with another blackberry original battery it showing same . but when i put my battery to another blackberry phone that phone is turning on properly . please help asap.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry curve 8520 wont turn on or wont charge, please somebody help me!:(

My phone was working fine yesterday until the keypad began to get stuck, so I removed the front off of my blackberry and I arranged the keys so they worked again, when I put my battery back in, the re-boot started, but once the blackberry screen loaded up, my phone shuts itself down, I haven't been able to use my phone all day today and yesterday, when I insert the battery the red LED light stays on for about 5-10 seconds and then it disappears, I left my phone on charge for 4 hours and it still wont turn on, but now even the LED light doesn't come on, I just have a black screen with no LED light whatsoever,  any suggestions?? I can't live without my phone for any longer! ox

also when i insert the battery now, the blackberry screen doesn't come up, it just stays black

  • MY blackberry curve 8520 wont work ) :

    Hi.
I found an issue with my blackberry 8520 a day ago.
I texted my friend, Before going to sleep The letter key " A " was working perfectly fine.
I woke up the next morning, and i went to put my phone on charge because it was on 11%
When i came back, a friend had left me a message so i was going to reply him. I was going to reply  "ya"
and i was stuck with " Y " i couldn't type A at all. With this, my phone would auto lock itself, and i had to press any key till any box would prompt and allow me to continue. I couldn't answer any calls as well. So i did a restart and i couldn't switch back my phone! I then took off the battery and tried it again Nothing helped after that reboot. I have got no idea how i should fix this.

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath, gym locker, sweaty face or pocket can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
    Does this sound likely?
It really is more common than you think.
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • My blackberry curve 8520 wont connect boot room.

I recently wiped my device then I tried to reload the OS I could not load because it got stuck on connecting to boot rom. When ever it tries to connect boot rom my device restarts and say USB not recognized.

    Hi there,
Given the number of things you've done, I suggest a complete start over...
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
Some have reported that there are more registry keys to remove than are discussed in that KB
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchronizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

Here is a different set of instructions that can help you upgrade your phone:

Note that because you're just upgrading your phone, you can skip step 4 as that's not required.

  • Wont Start Up After Reboot

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 8.1.7 and I have little experience of Oracle. I have rebooted my Oracle server. I am using Oracle DBA Studio to connect to the domain that has been created, e.g. CONL_LOCALHOST.DOMAIN.CO.UK. When I try and connect I get an error saying:
"SID given in connect descriptor could not be resolved"
When the server was rebooted and it came back up there were the following messages in the Application Event Viewer:
"The service has terminated abnormally. See the file C:\oracle\ora81\sysman\log\oms.nohup for details."
"The process termination failed for JRE. %2."
Any help on this would be very much appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi,
The OracleOraHome81ManagementServer service is set to start automatically and does not start. It does not start if I try and start it manually and I just get the standard error. It just says "This could be an internal Windows error or an internal server error......"
The contents of the tnsnames.ora file that is located in C:\oracle\ora81\network\ADMIN is detailed below. Does this look correct?

hello my blackberry curve 8520 screen has gone white and funny  circle icon has come up with reload softwear 552 at bottum of screen what do i do as it wont do anything ive tried battry pull and turned back on and it still brings that up
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It seems that you have not installed the correct blackberry software for your device, or might be select the incorrect carrier for your blackberry handheld. You need to download the correct blackberry software with your service provider and before installing the software, disconnect your BB device from the computer and then install it with proper administrative privilege.
After installing the software on your computer, make sure to hard boot your blackberry handheld before connecting it to your computer. If the same problem persists, then use JVM Loder to complete wipe your blackberry device memory then connect with the desktop manager and install the software.
    Good luck..!!!

  • Curve 8520 wont load up

my battery went dead on my 8520 and now wont load up it crashes whilst its loading up the start up screen anything i can do to solve this??

    Hi shanet88,
    Welcome to the Support Community!
If the BlackBerry® Desktop Software is able to connect with your BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone, please take a backup of your data then perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software.
For further instructions, see the following KB article. How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows. www.blackberry.com/btsc/kb11320
If your BlackBerry Curve smartphone is unable to connect with the BlackBerry Desktop Software, please connect your BlackBerry smartphone to the computer without the battery inserted and try to reload the BlackBerry Device Software.
Once the software load has already started, reinsert the battery. This process will remove all data from your BlackBerry smartphone.
