My blackberry curve wont reboot

  • Major Problems with BlackBerry Curve 9350- Rebooting

My BlackBerry Curve is notorius for needing the occasional reboot to help reset signal after a particularly bad storm.  However, when I rebooted this time, it came to with several additional folders.  Some said "MMS" inside, others were "Setup" and "Options", all items contained in other folders.  It was odd, so I went ahead and rebooted one more time, going so far as to take the battery pack out to ensure a complete shut down occured.  Again, when it came to, it displayed additional folders, I could not hit the menu butoon on them to move them else where, and all the items they allegedly contained were already in other folders.
Other aspects of the phone work fine, except for additional folders that mystically appear when I rebooted.
    Please help!

    Hey robinharris11,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • BlackBerry Curve 9350 rebooting randomly

We have several BB Curve 9350, OS 7.1 that keep rebooting randomly. They are under Sprint.
They use a custom application that requires the user to login, and beacuse of the rebooting they have to login multiple times and restart their work as many times.
Please, is there a known problem with this device?
Is there a way I can determine if the application is causing the rebooting?

    Hello Jltssysb,
I would suggest to do a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320, please test before restoring any data to the device.
If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)

If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.
    Thank you

  • BlackBerry curve 9220 reboots randomly during normal usage

BlackBerry 9220  reboots randomly during normal usage- Please suggest some good solution. I have already done below things:-
    1) Software Update
    2) Insert new battery
    3) Placed thin paper
    4) Safe mode
    5) Security wipe.
If you guys have other then above option, please suggest me.
     Blackberry future is black

    Hello,
Given all you have already tried, I recommend the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 - Rebooting

Yesterday my blackberry started rebooting on it's on and will not stop.  I have removed the battery.  This is my 6th or 7th blackberry replacement and this one is still under warranty.  I just hate that I am probably going to lose my information.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

It will not even allow me to use the phone. I took it to a verizon store today and they told me to file a claim with the insurance.  I i infomed them that I hadn't had the phone for more than a year and it should be covered by a warranty.  This was like my 5th or 6th blackberry.  They infomed me that it was not from the time I got this new one.  I think they are wrong, so I am going to call Verizon Wireless.
I tried to file a claim with the insurance and they wouldn't accept it because I had not had the phone over a year.
Just a little frustrated - haven't had a phone in two days.

  • Help! my brand new curve wont reboot!

I tool the battery out for a boost for the first time and it won't complete uploading. It shows the status bar for a while, screen goes black, red led and keys light up....then it starts all over. I have used a new battery and have been trying for hours. Please help me

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9720 rebooting

Hi I'm having a Problem with my 9720 BB it Reboots itself every few min and iv been having this phone not more than 7 months its really frustrating me plz help mxm
MOD EDIT: Subject changed to reflect a new topic

Wow!! That has to be frustrating!! If u've recently updated ur OS that might be the problem. I personally don't have ur issue but the 1st time I updated my OS I ran into a bunch of annoying gliches. I was told that u can't undo the update. I'm not certain but I think I remember having to get a new phone after one of the OS updates. One of the things that I love about BB's is that pulling out the battery and re-starting it solves a lot of issues. If u haven't tried that yet, u should try it. Even try it 2 or 3 times. After that if ur problem still persists I personally would make a few calls until they send me another phone. I hope this helps, if not, I'm sorry. Good luck! I've had BB's since 2007 and I love them! Updating operating systems on the other hand has sometimes brought gliches and problems. Nowadays, I ignore the OS update reminders.

  • Blackberry curve wont turn on or even blink when plugged into a wall charger. what should i do?

so i completly dissasembled my 8310 to see if there was a short somewhere and i didnt find anything obvious. i was playing aroung trying to find the problem when i realized that the red light comes on when i plug in the wall charger and the LCD is not connected. but if i plug in the LCD then try to charge it, the light will not come on. could this possibly be a short within the LCD that is causing the whole phone to fail? what should be my first step?

Bring it to an Authorized Apple Repair Center.  They will likely help you replace it.
    Here's how to find one:
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider

  • Blackberry Curve will not start up

My Blackberry curve wont boot, i woke up this morning and the screen was on with the hourglass spinning, it stays at that screen for about 5 seconds then the screen goes black and the red light at the top right comes on for a few seconds, then the light goes off and everything is blank for a few seconds, then the screen comes on with the hour glass spinning for about 5 seconds, repeating the cycle.
I took out the battery and sim card, put them back in and the same thing happens, The battery had about 1/3 power when i went to bed last night but i threw it on the charger this morning in hopes that it would fix the problem.
the power button does not appear to be sticky in any way.what should i do?

That is completly unbelievable I have had the same problem for the last 3 days and I'm so pissed to find out that RIM has not rectified this problem.
Is this the truth? Is there is no solution other then to get a new phone ?!  ARRRRHHHHGGG!!!
I will never buy another fataly flawed device from these people.
One would think that such a expensive phone would have a failsafe.
RIM, get your act toogether! If i find out this is the truth I am reporting you to the Better Buisness Bureau.
i lost so much vital data it is sickening.

    Thank You
    Nathan

    Hey hakmilton,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest contacting your network service provider to look at possible repair and exchange options.  Since you tried a new battery and the LED won't come on, we can not even try reloading the device software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.
