My blackberry is wiped out!

my password change from the * sign to regular letters. After 10 attempt my blackberry is wipped out. What should i do next to get my blkbry back up? and no i never saved anything i just want to be able to use my phone again!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
As a security measure, after 10 failed attempts entering the device lock password you created, the BB wipes itself clean of all personal data and such -- it's now basically just like it was the day you first received it, and you get to start over completely cleanly.
To start, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support in getting your BB running on their network again.

Well, if by that you mean you never availed yourself of the various FREE methods that RIM provides to take a backup, then that is sad indeed. And you have now migrated from the latter to the former in this old adage:
There are two kinds of computing device users -- those who have lost data, and those who will

Not good... do you have a recent or not so recent backup of your device?
I would recommend that you download the OS for your BlackBerry model, connect your BB via USB to your PC and follow the instructions for YOUR specific model of BB, found at the top of this link... one of those highlighted in yellow that state "attention"...

  • Everything on my blackberry torch is wiped out

Everything on my blackberry torch is wiped out and gone back to its default settings and language which is not english. first how do i change it back to english.
secondly how do i get my contacts and messages back.
Please I need a reply ASAP

To get your language back on track, from your homescreen go to Options>Typing and Input>Language and make sure everything is set to English.  Now press the menu key and select Save.
As for getting your contacts and messages back, if you didn't do a data backup via Desktop Manager, you can't retrieve them.  Backing up your data on a regular basis is not only crucial, it's the only way to retrieve such information in a situation such as this.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Playbook data wiped out!...

I am here not to improve anything -- BlackBerry!  I am here to perhaps save someone from what happened to me today.
It is my back up day of the month.  I connected my Playbook to my PC.  Cannot connect!  I thought that perhaps this is because I have upgraded to Windows 8 and now the desktop software is not fully compatible with the new OS!  BB Desktop offered me to repair...  Of course, why not, that is the normal thing we all expect in that situation.  I need to back up!  And without a connection, I cannot back up all the notes I took so far at work and videos of my ever quickly growing 3.5 year old son!
Process started!  Than asked me to update my operating system, that is also expected and nothing out of the ordinary -- I said "yes" to  UPDATE!  It said that it may take an hour or so!  "I have time" I thought to myself!  At the end of the waiting, it started to teach me how to use my Playbook.  My heart started racing.  It cannot be!  I didn't see any warnings that my system was about to be wiped out to factory clean state!.  Before I touched anything, I called the technical support.  The poor guy confirmed my fears.  My pictures, notes, videos, even the sound recordings of the consultation I had with a lawyer recently for which I've paid hundreds of dollars is gone!.  Why did I record the conversation?  Ironically -- So that it would cost less if I spent less time recording instead of taking notes hence cost less!  I don't know what else I have lost but now I have to go around the surrounding cities to my customer sites to take all those pictures of the service equipment again which  I have lost.
To summarize what we have here:
    1. Repair didn't mean repair, it meant replace,
    2. Every software company ask gazillion times if you are sure that you want to wipe out all your data, RIM doesn't follow those conventional s..t for some reason I, for the life of me don't understand why,
    3. Process doesn't give the user a chance to back up his/her data.  Why?  I d o n ' t k n o w!!!...
    4. A company like RIM who started making things for seripous customers -- businesses, where the risks to RIM's own business is very high don't have a f..ing quality system such as ISO that costs nothing to implement or they have it but implemented it the way they implement their installation/maintenance procedures.
    5. Support person was extremely nice but when I told him that he should step on the breaks, do something, pull the alarm cord, do whatever it takes to save the unexpecting people behind me, he said that he cannot do anything!!!  Go figure the company culture and its creators.  Where are these people coming from to become managers at BlackBerry?
This is it for me.  I am sick of waiting and hoping and being optimistic about this Canadian success story to turn around.  Everything they make or do lacks something.  I am done!  I will make sure everyone around me is also done with them.  If you cannot run a successful company with all that money, all these brains that you have hired and can hire, you have to be an **bleep** to fail.  You have been failing since the Bold 9000, perhaps even before!  By the way, I have been in IT business since 1992.  I don't need lecturing about any of these - I know how everything works  and what the problem is in your caves.

I feel you pain. This situation has happened to a few people. I am sure that this particular problem will be eliminated soon, hopefully with the upgrade when the PlayBook gets the full OS10 upgrade later this year. Reminds me of the time back in the early nineties when my oldest son spent a whole day on an assignment without saving it, only to receive the Blue Screen of Death with Win 3.1 late in the day.

  • IMac and iPad sync with cloud no problems, iTouch with OSi4.2.1 is now wiped out, how do I sync contacts and mail?

I am not a happy mac user at the moment.  I have a new ipad OSi 5.0 works fine with my two Lion systems.  I have an iPod touch with OSi 4.2.1 I was trying to sync my calender, mail and contacts.  It did the mail and calender but it wiped out my contacts.  I not only want them back, I want them synced with the other systems.  I should not have to buy a new touch to get this to work!
I would be happy to upgrade the OSi if it was an option!

You can't actually delete an iCloud account but you can remove it by signing out at System Preferences>iCloud if it is the promary account, or in Mail, Contacts & Calendars if the secondary, and then juste ignore it.
The Blackeberry can only sync with data held under 'On My Mac'. iCloud can only sync with data under 'iCloud'.
When you set up iCloud your calendars and contacts were moved to the iCloud server. If you want to use Blackberry you will have to move them back to 'On My Mac' and not sync with iCloud: it's one or the other.
To move calendars, follow the second set of numbered instructions here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmovecalendars.html
To move contacts, File>Export as vCard when you have selected all your contacts, then delete the contacts under iCloud, make 'On My Mac' the default and reimport the vCard.

  • Warning Upgrading from 5 to 6 Wiped Out ALL Of Our Backups

This morning my wife asked if I would upgrade her Blackberry Tour 9630 OS. As usual I started the desktop manager for BB which was version 5.x. I did a complete backup of the device as usual and it put it in the usual folder with all our other backups.
The BB desktop manager said we had the latest OS of 5.0.0.7 which I knew was incorrect. Called Verizon support and she first had me upgrade the Desktop BB software to 6.x. She asked if I had backed up the device and I said yes. The software still said I had the latest version of the BB OS of 5.0.0.7 so the rep had me download an exe file. I ran it and it updated the OS to 5.0.0.9 which is correct.
I then said I wanted to do a restore of this mornings backup and low and behold the folder that holds our backups was totally empty. We searched everywhere for *.ipd files and only found shortcuts which were no longer valid because the target file was now gone. Verizon was at a loss so they got Blackberry support on the phone which proceeded to webex into my computer to find these missing files. They were at a loss and said I have a bad computer or virus which really set me off.
I work for a very large software company in tech support. The blackberry support person seemed fairly clueless even when she was on my machine. Bottom line is this. They refuse to admit they wiped out that backup folder this morning and blame it on the computer. So here I sit setting up this Tour like we are brand new customers. My wife (real estate agent) has lost all her contacts that were in the Tour but not on her outlook which is a lot. My wife lost all her settings. And per usual her spamfighting third party software was wiped out once again. This last thing is normal for Blackberry.
I won't buy another Blackberry. Not because of today but because they have been left behind. Today's incident is simply amazing. So if you're on a Vista 64 machine and you upgrade the BB desktop manager from 5.x to 6.x please be aware that you may lose all your device backups. We did and RIM had no clue what to do or say other than to blame the customer.

We should all learn a lesson from this post. We should make back ups of our back-ups. I know it takes extra time, but you are able to recover should something go wrong. Put your backups on a thumb drive or better yet make 2 copies of your backups

  • Outlook calendar wiped out and won't sync after device update to 5.0

I recently got a new laptop at work and had to reinstall the Blackberry Desktop Manager from the web.  Upon opening it suggested I download an update for my device to 5.0, so I did.  Ever since then, it wiped out my Outlook calendar at work when I synced but updated my device with all the events but it will not sync back to my Outlook.  I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the BB Desktop Manager several times but the sync always gets as far updating my device then I get a popup saying an error occurred and needs to close BB Desktop Manager.  If I don't hit close on that error, the sync continues then stops as soon as it gets to updating Outlook.  I REALLY need to get my Outlook calendar back up-to-date bc it is for work and ppl need to view my calendar to setup meetings.
How can I revert back to the previous version of my device using my device since I don't have a backup on my laptop from when I updated it????

If none of the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store are working, but the Apple built-in ones are, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

  • My memory has been wiped out help??????

I forgot my password I typed it in three times wrong and then a few minutes after that by itself all the memory had been wiped out. The problem was I needed my contacts and I had very very valuble photos on there that I can't have back now I also bought stacks of ring tones and now they are gone too so I wasted money. Please can anyone tell me how to get my memory back??? That would really help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BBs are secure devices. When a device lock password is assigned, the user then plays a key role in that security. Forgetting your password means you failed in your role...and the BB dutifully assumed it was no longer in your hands and wiped itself clean. This is exactly as it is supposed to be...it's called WAD -- Working As Designed.
The only hope is if you have previously taken a backup. If you have ever taken a backup on your PC, then find those IPD files and use the most recent one to restore from.

  • Serious problem with the Q10 wiping out all my emails on all email accountson BB & Servers

having been using the BBQ10 for 10 days now and finally getting use to it and enjoying it.  I have been using BB's for years because I like it for my business.  But I work up today to find ALL my emails on all email accounts wiped out.  All texts and phone logs wiped out.  Ok could live with that BUT because of the new BB10 software that contacts you to  your email servers any changes you make with an email on your BB changes on your computer.  that means that every single emails on all my email accounts contacted to the BB have been deleted.  Saved emails, sent emails, new emails.  Everything.  I spoke with BB and was told they are aware of the problem and are sorry.  but i just lost thousands of dollars worth of orders because of this problem.  Anyone else have this problem?  any help?
On my old BB's there was a thing called Blackberry Protection and I had it set up to back up all data everday.  Now the Blackberry Protection on the Q10 and Z10 are for find your phone if you lose it.  It no longer backs up your data.  That is so stupid.  If I still had that I would not have lost all my info.
any thoughts or suggestions?  how can I keep the Q10 now if I cant' be sure it won't delete all my data anytime it feels like?

yes, me too. gave my device back to shop but really loved q10 and would like to buy again when problem is solved. lots of users are reporting about this problem but blackberry dont care.

  • Phone wiped out date

    hi guys,
i recently updated my torch software, though i never knew you had to back-up your phone before doing so, now all of my contacts and information has been wiped out. is there a way for me to get it back?
i have synced it before as i thought it would have backed it up.
    help please

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Synchronizing (with, for example, Outlook) and backing up are two separate functions. The backup is useful for more quickly restoring your data to your BB after some event (e.g., upgrade). In fact, the upgrade process, depending on how you performed it, should have taken a backup on your PC (if you did the update via your PC). If so, then search your hard drive for files with IPD extension (*.IPD). If you find any, inspect the date/time of the files...the one created around the date/time you were doing the update would be useful as the source of restore:
KB23680How to back up and restore BlackBerry smartphone data using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0
Otherwise, if you are synchronizing with a desktop application (e.g., Outlook), you can configure that anew and your data will be pushed back onto your BB:

  • Verizon wiped out my calendar after I called about sluggishness

I have been having problems with my sluggish Curve 8330, particularly with BlackBerry Messenger and appearing as if I am off-line to my contacts when I am not.  And, I will often send messages and it takes a minute or two to be marked as delivered.
So, I called Verizon Wireless, who sent me a "service book" whatever that is.  And, when I did a battery pull, my calendar was wiped out.  Tech support blamed it on a memory problem, but I over 35,000,000 bytes free.
We tried a one-way sync from Outlook to Device to restore the calendar.  Everything appeared to be working in the Device Manager.  But, it didn't restore my calendar on the device.  The only events that show on the device are events that I "invited" my husband to so he can add the events to his BlackBerry.
Verizon wants me to start all over and restore my BlackBerry, but I want to be sure I try everything before I wipe it out.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

        byebyeverizon123,
I want to make sure that you are up and running with phone calls on your cell phone. Let's get right to work. What zip code are you in? As Ann154 stated, are you up to date with the latest software for the iPhone 6? Are you still able to send/receive text messages? When you try to call out, are you getting any kind of error message or is it just dead air? Please keep us posted.

  • Update wiped out my email accounts

I received several Blackberry messages over the past few weeks saying I was due for an update by January 17. I finally set it to happen at 2 a.m. about a week ago and when I tried to see what email I had the next morning, both my work account, yahoo, and gmail accounts were no longer available. Wiped out. When I try to set them up again, I receive a message that says, "user name invalid" and "at least 4 characters needed" even though I am keying in my same IDs and passwords. I called my phone provider and was told the phone would have to be completely cleared and start over again to get email. I am so disappointed and frustrated with Blackberry. If I had known I was going to lose email, I would have reconsidered or tried to ward this off in advance. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do? Is there any other recourse except wiping everything off the phone and starting over again? Am I missing something in trying to reset my IDs and passwords? I would hate to have to rebuild and reinstall everything that is on my phone -- contact, photos, etc. I've tried to contact Blackberry, but there is no phone or email information in order to speak with a technician. If I can't get any resolution, Blackberry will be in the dust as I look for another phone that won't wipe out my emails during udpades, upgrades or whatever takes place. Help!

You didn't say, but are you ACTUALLY trying to enter the BlackBerryID on your device?
Read this for instructions to reset your BlackBerryID password:

Is that what you need... or is this for an actual BlackBerry email address, such as "[email protected]"?

  • Calendar wiped out error 0x80040fb3

    Hi All,
I have just had all my calendar items in Outlook wiped out after a sync with my Blackberry 9530. This is the second time in the past 2 months it has happened. I received an Intellisync error code 0x80040fb3.
The calendar items are still on my BBY, but I cannot get them to sync back into Outlook. I have changed the syncronization direction in Intellisync from two-way sync to one-way sync going from the device to Outlook and it still doesn't work. One quirky thing is this: In Intellisync, I have the Calendar Date Range set to transfer items that are between 180 days prior to today and  7000 days after today. Dates in my Outlook older than the 180 days prior are still there. I don't want to re-enter all these calendar items by hand again, like I did about 2 months ago.

Hate to say it but with any 0x800 errors it leads to an issue with the device. We are looking at the calender is corrupted. Normally to take care of this error a few things needs to be performed. You can try advanced logging but I would really need to walk you through how to read the log. What has happened is possibly a software update has taken place and you are probably with Verizon. Well during the update it corrupted the calender database and when you synced it corrupted the Outlook database.
First step is to advnace log KB01451
Second step is to back up KB23680
thrid you need to do a security wipe KB14058
    Fourth sync with Outlook
Fifth would be a selective restore of everything but the calender database.
