My blackberry keeps on freezing on the restart page

my blackberry scroller stopped working; so i took the battery out and out it back in. it now keeps on freeziing whilst restarting the bar only gets up to about 3/4 of the white bar. i have contionusly taken the battery out and put it back up aswell asa leaving it for half an hour or so! what should i do please help!! asap!!

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Failing that, you OS may have been corrupted, and only a clean OS reload can cure that. At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for each model. Please use those as reference as you proceed.
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

You also can attempt to use the BBSAK utility (BBSAK.ORG)...that can allow you, from a PC, to cleanly wipe and reload your BB OS.

the power logix thing was really sad. apple changed so much after 10.4.8 that there wasn't a viable way to patch the software.
That statement is precisely why I don't believe in blindly updating the OS, especially in a non-standard machine.
We can't expect third parties to support us forever, and it is shameful to break something that works fine, except that we updated the OS....
I think that any upgrade or modification to a machine or the OS greatly increases the risk of trouble or incompatibility with current configuration and "new" system files.
After all, the component or software could only be tested as far as the current OS version when the component or software was released.
Beyond that, we are all "beta testing".
Following a beta tester protocol, and applying updates to a cloned system drive first, is a prudent way to approach updates, and not only for older, heavily modified machines.
After 10.4.8 and moreso with Leopard, the focus is primarily on Intel architecture, not PPC architecture.
Like it or not, we are all updating to the abyss of the extinction of our machines, unless we can be satisfied with the last stable version of OS that works well with our hardware and software.
I wish they would include the latest pkgs at least with software update.
Yes, having individual packages, rather than lump "OS X 10.x.x" updates would be nice.
This way, one could update as one sees fit. That is to say, for example, fix the Quicktime, but leave my Network alone, etc., etc.
In all fairness, Apple does provide for some breakdown of updates, but I believe there is much room for improvement, especially, as you point out, with regard to the core services portion of the OS.
Until then, I'll leave Software Update disabled.......

New install. The install software freezes at the restart prompt!

Folks, hello just had the Triple installed the install software freezes at the restart prompt. When I open the "Resume install" form the shortcut key same issue. I have to ALT,CTR,DEL to close it. I'm running Vista. Thoughts please Thanks

If you already accepted the Fios Bundle Terms then I wouldn't worry about completing that software install.
Unless you want the Verizon toolbar and Help & Support bloatware.

Reset it (hold down menu and center button) or Reset it in itunes. Make sure software is up to date!

I would press the power on key and hold it for 6 or 7 seconds. That will shut down your machine. You can then power it up and see what happens.

Keep a paragraph on the same page as the previous paragraph

I know I can keep a paragraph on the same page as the next paragraph but I need to create a paragraph style that keeps a paragraph of the same page as the PREVIOUS paragraph. Is there anyway to do this?
I used to be able to do it using my "old" M$ Windows DTP package.

This works. Here is a screen shot from Pages with "Show Invisibles" (the blue spaces and paragraph marks):
Line spacing is set in Inspector to add space after each paragraph without adding blank lines (it's better that way).
Dish Title, all descriptions, Price and the blank line below are set to "Keep with following paragraph".
Do not include the final blank line (which is really blank) in this linking.
Type this in Pages. Copy everything and then repeatedly Paste. See if the new pages appear as you want them.

Mail Keeps Sending Me To The Search Page

As the header says, everytime I try to access my MacMail, it keeps sending me to the Search Page. I have to go through the System Preferences to get my MacMail, Any Help Will Be Greatly Appreciated M.I.

Thanks for the Return, I have two e-mail accounts, one from the cable provider and one from my Apple Account. In the past I have always been able to go to my Apple (Mac) account and click on Mail. It then asks for my user ID and my password. Nothing has changed on my end that I am aware of, but now when I try to open my mail it sends me to some search page instead. I have to go to Mail preferences, click on the .Mac tab, it opens up the stuff relating to my Mac Mail account and in this area my mail is now opened, I Hope This Helps Thank You, MI

What Mac model do you have? You might be able to upgrade the OS to Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5.
Even browsers for Tiger 10.4 will get the update message.
You could try a newer browser than Safari, which is obsolete, by downloading Firefox v2.0.0.20 at http://www.oldapps.com/mac/firefox.php

System freezes when the restart button is used

When I elect to restart using the restart button the system hangs up. Theis is happens whenever i instruct the system to install updates. My system is a Satellite P855-S5312 with windows 8 factory installed.

Does the hang occur during the reboot (and after the shutdown)? If so, what happens when you try to restart after a clean boot?
1. Open the System Configuration utility (msconfig.exe). You can do that by typing msconfig at the Start screen and pressing Enter.
   2. On the Services tab, set the Hide all Microsoft services check box and then click Disable all.
   3. On the Startup tab, click Open Task Manager, right-click and disable each Startup item. Then close Task Manager.
   4. Back on the System Configuration screen, click OK, and restart the computer.

My Blackberry keeps freezing on the loading page!

Two days ago my blackberry froze on the start up loading page and the bar is frozen half way through, i have tried taking the battery out many times and even tried someone elses battery and nothing is working?

One thing to try is to reboot the phone in safe mode. Remove the battery, then reinsert it and press the back button for ~30 seconds (or if you want to be thorough, until the phone reboots). This will allow you to delete any apps that might be causing the problem for you. If that doesn't work, you may need to reload the software on the device, but if that's the case, your data may be lost unless you had a recent backup or used an app like BlackBerry Protect to backup your data.

If your computer cannot see your phone in step 2, unplug the phone and remove the battery, then plug it in again. As soon as your PIN pops up on the screen, click Next. If you miss it, don't worry, just unplug the phone and plug it back into your computer. Once you're able to continue with reloading the OS, you can reinsert the battery and proceed with the installation.

HT1338 My iMac keeps on freezing in the middle of operation.

My IMac has the OSx Lion 10.8.2 and keeps on crashing just started this afternoon. You need to turn-off the main power off manually to reboot it. Any fix of this issue?

Try this first.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that does not work - quit app apps, and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Depends on how much you are willling to spend on repairs as well as where you decide to send it in for repairs. Apple won't actually repair the iPod but instead will swap it out for a refurbished unit of the same generation and capacity. So it would be a bit cheaper to send it to a 3rd party repair center who will actually swap out the damaged/faulty parts.

This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.
