My blackberry keeps sending and receiving data

and it is draining my battery!!!! My phone is just sitting beside me, not receiving any emails or texts and it isn't loading an internet page, so I don't know what it is doing. My battery is dying before 11:00 AM which shouldn't happen.

My battery is also draining...could it be a virus? I uninstalled twitter-facebook- and all those stupid time-wasting social networks, as well as a Google search application I deleted/uninstalled it too. My BB no longer seems to be freezing caused by sent/receive. This may have fxed the problem but will know by 5pm how low the battery will be.

  • How to stop apps from sending and receiving data?

Or does it even matter because I have cellular data turned off...

If you have cellular data turned off apps can still send and receive data via WiFi. But why do you have apps that send and receive data if you don't want them to send and receive data?

    Thanks for the idea.
I cleared the message from the server (It was long gone.) and I Blocked the message in Yahoo, I also Blocked it in TB. However, I still get the same message from three weeks ago and nothing more, so I am sure it has something to do with a Profile. If I can't smoke it our there, I will clear out the profiles and start from scratch.
I'd appreciate any further thoughts as I don't want to lose my Contact List as some of my Messages.

    Hi,
I have written a .NET Telnet Compenent for Teststand and it even works well.
Most of the code i have found at Codeproject.com .There is thread called TerminalControl.
You can use this with only a few modifications. The major task you have to do is to add
    the TS stuff.

  • Blackberry email send and receive problem

Personal e-mail sent from PC, PC and Blackberry also can receive the e-mail. When i sent from Blackberry, PC can receive the e-mail but Blackberry can't receive the e-mail

    Hi again,
OK...so just to see if I understand correctly:

     1. My Setting is own email server forward personal email to BB account.
You have your own personal email system (POP, IMAP, something) that is not a public (e.g., GMail, Yahoo, HotMail, etc.) email system, but it does face the internet. You have, on that server, some rules that are forwarding certain emails to a "BB account"...I'm not sure what "BB account" that specifically is. Is that an @carrier or @RIM email account?
    kendalfung wrote:
     2. PC using outlook/OE sent to personal email account, BB and PC also can receive the email.
Using PC-based Outlook or Outlook Express, you are sending (as "TO") to that same email account hosted on your own personal email system. When you do that, both the BB and Outlook/OE receive the email just fine (I am assuming the PC via POP to your personal email system; the BB, by virtue of your server-based forwarding rule, though it is still undefined as to if you mean the @Carrier or @RIM BB email account that I mentioned above).
    kendalfung wrote:
     3. BB sent to personal email, PC can receive the email but BB can't receive the email
When you create a new email on your BB, sending "To" that email account hosted on your own personal email system, the Email never arrives to your BB but it arrives on your PC/Outlook/OE just fine.
If all of that is correct, it would seem to me that the fault lies in the forwarding rule on your email server...it is forwarding emails that it receives by virtue of your Outlook/OE (whatever outbound email relay they are using) but it is not forwarding emails that arrive from the RIM SMTP gateways (which is where all outbound, from the BB, emails come from...the RIM SMTP gateways, not your own).

  • Continuous data send and receive with unknown source

When I connect my ipad to the lightning cable, no matter if it is connected to PC or it is going to be charged, if the wifi is on, it will start sending and receiving data continuously and with a high speed.
I want to stop this thing from happening because it nearly consumed all of my internet account
    What is the reason?

    Did you download from
    http://java.sun.com/products/javacomm/
If so, there is an example in
    commapi\samples\SerialDemo
but this only sends characters back and forth.
You will have to create a design to handle the send
and recieve. What will the data be?
Will you transmit files? Maybe you need to create
    something like XMODEM.
Will you transmit media streams? Maybe you should look
    at JTAPI
    http://java.sun.com/products/jtapi/
(which is only a definition, or a real reference
    implementation like:
    http://gjtapi.sourceforge.net/
==================================================================I'm sending information from a client for a credit verification, This information is sent in a variable, and then the modem receives a file with the results.

  • Not receiving texts from iPhone contacts when I'm not connected to wifi or cell data. I can't send and receive regular SMS texts with non iMessage users but iMessage users message are not being converted to text when I don't have internet connect

I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts. From what I understand these message should automatically send to me as texts instead of iMessages but since the update it's not functioning properly. Please help. I've tried turning iMessage off and I still don't receive the messages until after I reconnect to wifi.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7

I'm unable to send and receive email through Apple Mail 4.  I've checked my settings on Preferences, and my password to Gmail is up to date for syncing with IMAP, but it still won't connect.  Suggestions?

I think it's trying to open it in a gMail eMail & is losing your gMail password that it needs log into gMail, but not 100% positive.
Have you tried Right clicking or Control+click on the eMail link & choose Copy? Works on some, not others.

  • HT3529 I am confused about messaging. Shouldn't I be able to send and receive messages with cellular data off?  I can usually send the message, but often do not receive messages until I either have wifi or turn cellular on.

I am confused about messaging. Shouldn't I be able to send and receive messages with cellular data off and without wifi? I can send the message but often do not receive messages from others, iPhone or other, until  I turn on cellular or wifi.

Depends on the type of Message.
SMS messages will send and receive with data off.  and while you can guarantee you send using SMS you cannot guarantee that whoever replies to you does also. They may be replying thorugh iMessage if they are using iPhones.
However Android should be sending through SMS.
You can turn off iMessage if you want to, though people with limtied SMS text messaging in their plans may not appreciate it, and stop messaging you.

I tried lots of things but the problem is still existing.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
Good luck and let us know!
