My Blackberry Style no longer hooks to home wi-fi

My Blackberry Style fails to hook to home wi-fi when other blackberry's and smart phones and laptops can. It worked up to 4 weeks ago and stopped. I have tried reseting the wi-fi connection to no avail.

  • How come my phone will no longer hook up to my work wi-fi?  it has for almost 2 years and all of a sudden it does not.  I am the only one that can not get on.

My phone is no longer hooking up the my Wi-Fi at work.  I has for almost a year and now all of a sudden it will not.  Everyone can hook up so they did not change anything as far as the Wi-Fi.  It hooks up at my Wi-Fi at home fine and other areas, just at work is the problem.  What could be causing this?  I am using the Motorola Moto Rzr

Could be your work banned your particular MAC address or some such.  Maybe they ran an analysis on network usage and type of use and found you to be a large consumer on their network.  IDK what type network you are on or business you work at.  I know it's been done before to curtail employee efficiency.  Otherwise, you may need to speak to the administrator of said network.

  • Apple tv is no longer connected to Home Sharing

I have home sharing running on my Windows 7 PC with two Apple TV's.  One of them is on version 4.4.3 the other is on verison 4.4.4.  The apple TV with the latest version is no longer seeing my Home Share, yet the apple TV with the older software is.  I have rebooted the network, logged out of home sharing, turned it back on and even reset the apple TV with no success.
Does anyone know if I missed anything?  Internet test works fine, it is connected to the network, but it cannot see the movies I have in my library.

I have just developed the same problem. Everything on my Apple TV works just fine except it will no longer load my library from my computer. I can play movied from my computer, ipad or iphone onto my ATV, but it will no longer pull them from my computer. Everything worked until latest itunes update. I have started itunes match, but everything worked after that as well.

  • Apple TV no longer connects to Home Sharing

    Hello,
Frustrated and working on this issue for month - Apple TV no longer connects with Home Sharing! I have uninstalled all apple firmware and reinstalled from scratch ITunes, I have checked and unchecked Home Sharing and entered password dozens of times! I have reset all four apple TVs and I have unchecked/disabled IPV6 and it still does not work. all four Apple TVs have worked for years and somewhere along the way they just stopped.
I am running Windows 7 and the only thing that has changed in the path is the Time Warmer Arris router. Apple TV still connects to WiFi and Netflicks.
    Please help,

  • Restoring data onto new blackberry from Blackberry Protect, last restore was from my stolen Blackberry Style 9670

Help!  My Blackberry Style 9670 (BB OS 6) was stolen.
My data was backed up daily by Blackberry Protect and nowhere else.
Will newer Blackberry Phones be able to access and restore my data from Blackberry Protect, or must I find me a refurbished BB OS 6 phone or?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If your phone is running OS 7 or earlier, you'll be able to access that data backup; BB10 phones cannot restore data from BlackBerry Protect.
    BB10 phones are the Z10, the Z30, the Q10 and the Q5.
    Cheers.

  • Phone will no longer connect to home wifi.

My phone just sits there loading on the the Belkin router option that is my home wifi. I've tried resetting my phone and syncing to itunes and nothing seems to work. I've also tried forgetting the network, then reentering the wifi code; this also doesn't work. I have a limited data plan so I need this wifi to keep from going over that 2 GB limit as the overdraft fees will wreck me.

  • No longer connects to home wi-fi

During the last 7 to 10 days my razr upgraded to version 4.0.4 (ICS). Sense it did this, I can no longer connect to my Wi-Fi at home.
Specifics: it would say it was connected, but when I opened a browser or went to fb or my email I would be notified that my data is turned off (it was on), or that the browser was having connectivity issues, or that my app had timed out. I have gone through all the different setting configurations on my router, nothing I changed had any effect, other than knocking my daughters phone off the wi-fi, so I changed it all back as it was before. I tried "forgetting" the wi-fi and then re-adding it, did not work.
I took my phone to a verizon store. the first thing they said was "it picks up our wi-fi, soo..." As you can imagine, after a week or so of trying all these different things, I was not in the mood to hear it was not really an issue. I went through everything I have tried with them. I asked them if they knew what frequency their wifi was set at, etc.. They reset my phone to factory settings and sent me on my way. I was hopeful.
I came home. There was a slight difference. Now, instead of saying its connected but not actually being connected, it cycles through " Turning on Wi-Fi" "Obtaining IP address" "saved"  "Turning on Wi-Fi" "Obtaining IP address", etc. occasionally it will say "avoided poor connection". when it is on "saved" if I look at the connection strength, it is "excellent". Before the ICS upgrade, I had no issues with Wi-Fi connection, and the xbox and my daughters connections are fine. Nothing has changed except the ICS update.
I went back to the verizon store, they looked at it for a min and said "it connects to our wi-fi"....  End result is that they are getting me a replacement phone, which has to be shipped to me from Motorola, and should be here in a week. But the phone will also have to upgrade to the ICS version. And it might not work either.
My router is a Cisco Linksys e2000. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I have reset the router, phone has been reset, wifi connection has been forgotten and reentered many many times. I have tried switching my router from 2.5ghz to 5 ghz (daughter lost her connection then) I have gone through "mixed" "G & B Only" "B only" "G Only" "N Only". I have tried switching channel widths, and the channel itself is set to auto.. I do not know what else to try. My phone has an IP address, though it looks odd compared to other IP address's I have seen, and it has a mac address as well.  Any advice would be appreciated.

  • IPod no longer connects to home Wi-Fi at distance

Got home yesterday to find that my iPod only connects to my WiFi when I'm right in front of the hub (BT). I can no longer get WiFi on my iPod anywhere in the house (where I always had 2 bars of signal), but all other devices (tablet, phone, xbox, laptop) work fine. I have reset my router and my iPod, neither made a difference - I can still only get connection in one room. Help!

  • Can connect at the Apple Store, but no longer at my home

    Hi,
After I "reset" my network settings on my ipT, I can no longer connect to my home network. I had an appt with the Genius Bar today and the ipT connected fine to the Apple network. They told me to reset my router at home. I came home and did that...turned it off, waited, and turned it back on. My laptop connects, and the ipT sees the home network, but I get no bars.
I'm including aquoted section from part of an Apple Support article, below. My problem meets the first 2 out of 3 criteria. I don't get numbers for IP Address, Subnet, etc, but my ipT DOES show a Wifi address under point 3 below:
    "Symptoms
iPhone or iPod touch appear to be connected to a Wi-Fi network but cannot use Wi-Fi for checking email, surfing the Internet, or other data transactions.
    AND
On the device, when you tap Settings > Wi-Fi and then tap next to the network, no values or entries for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, or DNS appear.
    AND
The device shows no Wi-Fi address (Tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address).
This can happen if, during the initial setup of the iPhone or iPod touch, no Wi-Fi address was registered. So while the device can attach to different Wi-Fi networks, it will not be able to retrieve an IP address because the Wi-Fi router doesn't see a Wi-Fi address from the device."
Thanks for any help. I don't know what else to try. I'd sure love to have my surfing back!

I'm answering my own post, in case it helps other people with the same problem. I'm almost embarrassed to admit what the solution is, but if it helps, hey!
After resetting, my ipT asked for the password for my home network. In error, I typed in my EMAIL password, not my ROUTER's password. Duh. Once I got the right password entered, everything's fine.
So, hope this helps someone else.

  • Both of our iPhone 4s no longer connects to home wifi, iPad and iMac still do.

Our home wifi appears to be working fine.  Our iPad and our computer are connected and have no trouble.  However, both my husband's and my iPhone 4s that have always been connected no longer connect.  It can see the signal, allows me to click on it an enter the network key, but then says unable to connect.  We reset our wireless hub but that did not help.  I restarted my phone and reentered the network key twice.  I'm fairly sure that it stopped working right after the most recent update.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I don't want to drain all my data down while I'm @ home.

Update, the iPad worked all morning and the second that my settings button showed that there was a new software update, it disconnected from the wifi and is now behaving exactly like the iphones.  This has got to be an issue with the new software.

  • Mac Book will no longer join wireless home network

I am having ongoing problems with getting my 2.0G black Mac Book to connect to my wireless home internet and network.
For the first six weeks I had my Mac Book it connected to the network without difficulty. I have a Belkin modem/router, a PC which connects wirelessly and also an airport express on my stereo for airtunes, which was also wirelessly connected. The network was WPA Personal encrypted.
The Mac Book will connect to other wireless networks without any difficulty.
About 3 days ago my Mac Book stopped connecting to my home network - the network name is visible in the airport list but when I tried to connect by entering the WPA password it rejected the password or it returned an "error joining the airport network". The PC and airtunes were still connecting without a problem. It was just the Mac Book that would not connect.
I adjusted the network settings to remove WPA security and the Mac Book then connected easily. However I was not happy about leaving my network unencrypted or unsecured, so I attempted to secure the network again using WPA. Once again, the PC or airtunes joining the network with WPA but the Mac Book would not accept the WPA Password.
I have read as many forum posts as I could find to get all the possible troubleshooting tips on this problem. Here's what I've tried:
    1. Deleting the network from my preferred network list and deleting the password from my keychain, then adding it afresh after rebooting the router and the Mac Book
    3. Renaming the ESSID to a shorter name
    4. Downloading Airport Extreme Update 2007-002
    5. Toggling airport on and off
    6. Using the $ in front of the WPA Passkey (even though that is a fix for the WEP passwords only)
    7. Removing the battery (yes, someone said it worked for them!)
I had no success in getting the Mac Book to connect to the WPA encrypted network (even though it was doing so easily last week!). I then resigned myself to removing the WPA security so that I could at least get an unsecured internet connection on the Mac Book (I was thinking I could deal with the security by hiding the ESSID and using MAC filtering - not ideal, but perhaps the next best solution).
Tonight I removed the WPA security and now the Mac Book will not even connect to the unsecured network. My network ESSID is visible in the airport menu but when I select it - I get the "error connecting to the Airport network' message. I have tried all the usual fixes again (deleting network and passwords and keychains, rebooting router and MacBook etc) but it will not connect to my network. It will, however, connect to my neighbour's unsecured network just fine.
As far as I can deduce, the problem is with how the Mac Book sees my wireless network. The PC is connecting to the network. The Mac Book is connecting to other networks. Have I muddied the waters in my Mac Book through the various fixes I have tried? If so, how can I fix it so that it connects to my unsecured network as easily as it connects to next door's?
Forget about trying to secure the network with WPA for now, I just want to get an unsecured connection at the very least.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
I've looked into the problem a bit further and I think I can trace it to the OS X 10.4.9 updates and the 2007-002 Airport Update downloads. My difficulties accessing the WPA network began after I downloaded the most recent OS X updates. After I downloaded 2007-002 update (designed to make it EASIER to access third party wireless routers! Joke!) I wasn't even able to connect to the unsecured network.
It appears I am not alone with this problem - many others have complained of losing connectivity after downloading these updates. There is a relatively difficult and risky way to uninstall the updates but I have reservations about messing with the OS, and I fear the same problem will arise with future updates.
Because I am now so sick of mucking around trying to fix this and there doesn't seem to be a fix on the horizon, I have solved the problem by buying an airport express and ditching the belkin router. I have now re-established the network without any problems using the airport express. So much for Macs being simple and compatible - the reality is a long way behind the impressive tv advertising.
