I am not sure why, but my bookmarks have disappeared twice now in the last 24 hours.

The bookmark problem is annoying but can always be fixed by simply terminating and restarting Safari.

  • My email accounts keep disappearing from my iPad mail app.

My email accounts keep randomly disappearing from my iPad mail app.  The accounts are still there in settings but are not appearing in the app or sending and receiving mail.

  • Restored Safari bookmarks keep disappearing

I restored my iPhone to get rid of the bloated "Other" category. In the process, I had first disconnected Safari on the iPhone from iCloud syncing before deleting bookmarks and the reading list. I did a full backup on iTunes before restoring. It remains that way. Nevertheless, the next time I started Safari on my iMac, all my bookmarks disappeared, in favor of the original defaults. I restored the bookmarks from Time Machine but every time I add a new bookmark, they disappear again, right before my eyes. It spills over to my MacBook Air, which I use when I'm way from my desk.
I really need those bookmarks. I have an .html list I exported as well so they are safe, just not convenient.
I have Safari 7.0.5. The recent update has not prevented this problem from recurring.
Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening?

Using iTunes and using iCloud simultaneously will only cause problems for Safari bookmarks. It's one or there other.
On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud then switch Safari off then back on.
On your iMac open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Safari then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the bookmarks.

  • Why does my Epson printer keep disappearing from my ipad

Why does my air printer keep disappearing from my ipad

reboot the router (and the printer).
If still happening, check your router settings.  Is it set so that the lease on the printer IP expires?
The pad has to see the printer as active, and on the same wifi network as the pad.
You might also want to see if there is a firmware update for the printer available.

  • My bookmarks keep disappearing at random, and will also disappear every time I try to organize them into folders. How can I fix this?

I use Firefox 3.6.20 on a Macbook. Almost every bookmark I attempt to save will disappear immediately after doing do. Also, when I'm trying to organize my bookmarks into folders, doing so often makes the bookmarks disappear as well, rather than placing them in the selected folder. The action of dropping them in a folder will either multiply the bookmark into three bookmarks, or make it go away completely. How can I fix this?

The Views menu in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) is for displaying the bookmarks in different sorting orders (hence the name Views) and doesn't sort bookmarks permanently.
In Firefox the option to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks.<br />
Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort.

  • Why do my bookmarks keep disappearing?

Every couple of weeks, my bookmarks in Safari disappear. They come back hours later, the next day or days later. I don't understand how this happens since I can't find a setting anywhere that makes this happen. I have an iPhone 4S with the latest software. I also have a Macbook Pro but I don't see anything with it that would tell the phone to erase and then retrieve the bookmarks.

  • NYT bookmark keeps disappearing from bar - just THAT one

So yeah, it's just the one bookmark that periodically goes missing. And it only affects the bookmark bar. I can't figure out why this is happening - is it because the New York Times is a pay site, or is there something else going on? It's a hassle to have to keep adding it to the bookmark bar again and again.
    Ideas? Thanks!

    Try highlighting the whole address.
I have tried this. It doesn't make any difference.
    or
Drag the address to the desktop and see if may the
address is getting messed up in the process.
If the address is good then you should be able to
drag from the desktop to Dock.
I have also tried this. It works unless you delete the address which was dragged to the desktop, since the icon in the Dock refers to the file on the desktop, not the original bookmark.
Do you have any other ideas?
    Thanks!

  • My bookmarks keep disappearing after a pup

A few days ago I collected a pup installer trying to convert a youtube vid to mp3. I got rid of it using Malwarebytes, however it still had unwanted browser add ons, which Firefox questioned and I deleted. Every time I opened a browser these add ons tried to reinstall, so I downloaded a new copy of Firefox using IE but the problem persisted. I ran a full scan using MBAM and one using SAS and nothing appearing. So I installed the 3 month old copy of Firefox I had saved and then let it update. Perfect, problem solved, I thought. I then used Mozbackup restore from a pre-virus time, which I have used for years, and had all my bookmarks back. However, now, every time I open a browser all of my Bookmarks are there, but if I close the browser and re-open later, all of my bookmarks disappear in front of me. I have tried restoring them and then doing another backup using Mozbackup while they're all there but it's not helping. I can't restore my bookmarks every time I open a browser. Please help?

How did you check the bookmarks? Was it thru the Bookmark Toolbar,
or did you open the Bookmarks Manager?
Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar. Then select
    '''Bookmarks.''' Hot key is '''<Control>''(Mac:<Command>)'' <Shift> B.'''
Bookmarks appear in the Bookmarks Manager but not in the main menu

Every time I open a fresh browser and click on my 'bookmarks' tab to go to a page they just start deleting in front of me until they're all gone.

Please follow my instructions to open the Bookmarks Manager.
Also, use the web link I posted.

I did follow your instructions and checked the link which was not relevant thank you. I have no toolbars whatsoever and all add ons are disabled. Disabling all add ons was the first thing I did. Please don't feel you need to help if you are going to treat me like an idiot.

  • TS4083 Can anyone tell me why my emails keep disappearing from my iPad after I read them? They are still on my laptop but not on my iPad. Would be eternally grateful if anyone can help.

Can anyone help!! I keep losing emails from my iPad after reading them although they still appear on my laptop. Does anyone know why?

Are you using Apple Mail? Gmail App? Are you using a personal address "@me.com"?
To give you a generalized answer. If your using a Pop Server (You have emails downloaded to each individual device via pop.emailprovider.com) in Apple Mail. Its possible that you have a setting causing emails to delete from your device, not the server where your emails are stored. If you can view your emails on more than one computer, then the emails are stored on your server. My recommendation would be to use an IMAP server setup if possible.
If you could answer some of my questions, I would be happy to help you more. It appears to be an issue with the device deleting local emails downloaded to it, rather than the emails deleting server side.

  • Mavericks maps bookmarks keep disappearing?

I save a few bookmark locations in the maps application. then when i shutdown or log-off, all those bookmarks disappear! what is going on!

  • (I do NOT use norton at all) Some of my saved bookmarks keep disappearing when I close and re-open my browser..this is getting very frustrating! (firefox 4.0)

I have read about this happening, but the only solution is for people who use Norton, and I do not-it is not even on my laptop at all..
I have firefox 4.0. Every time I close firefox, some of my SAVED bookmarks are missing when I re-open later. I tried re-saving them, but then when I close and re-open firefox later on again, some more bookmarks are gone..this only happens when I exit for a while..if I close and re-open firefox right away the bookmarks are all still there.
This is very frustrating! I never had this problem with firefox 3.whatever..PLEASE HELP??
ps. i am not very technical, so if there is a bunch of hard things I have to do myself to fix this, then I think I will switch to Internet Explorer..

Yes - see [[options window - privacy panel]]. There is an option to clear some of the history when Firefox closes, you can customise that.

  • Why does my airplay icon keep disappearing from my ipad?

Airplay icon is very unstable. I have tried all suggested remedies. Restarting router makes it appear but then it goes off again after a short time. Sick of resetting router - everything else works fine - this happens simultaneously on both our iPads. Any help appreciated.

  • My bookmarks keep disappearing, even after they are restored

I can not get Firefox to stop deleting my bookmarks. I have to restore from an older file to get them back. If I quit the software and restart, sometimes the bookmarks are there and other times they are not. After getting them back yet again and then saving them out for backup, if I try to restore from the backup, it's empty... no bookmarks!
This is really starting to tick me off. Any ideas that will fix this bug?

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
