My bookmarks take me to random sites instead of the corect ones

So, my bookmarks take me to random sites instead of the correct ones. Sometimes they take me to a 'credit report' page, sometimes facebook and sometimes some site that I was on a few day before but did not bookmark. Some bookmarks work ok as well (about 10-20%). Its really confusing, seems like it could be a virus. As a mac user I have almost no experience of virus protection so I can't really tell.
Many of the bookmarks were imported from safari and still work fine in that program. I've tried emptying my firefox profile and reimporting the bookmarks from safari and from back ups but the same thing happens.
I have also tried clearing the 'places.sqlite' and 'places.sqlite-journal' files as I read that that can help, no dice though.
This has been bugging me for 3 days now and I have spent hours on it. I'm ready to give up on firefox now unless someone can help. Its a shame because I like the software but bookmaks are very important to me.
I've also tried deactivating all my plug-ins.
A fix would really make my day. Thanks in advance for an help you can offer!

I just tried to click a link for UK paper size, it loaded a google search for 'firefox bookmarks' ....what the hell is going on!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

First time going to a site where I do not have access and clicking the back button I'm returned to the root site instead of the site I started from

I have SharePoint 2013 enterprise using ADFS for authentication. I have an issue where the first time going to a site where you do not have access and clicking the back button you're returned to the root site instead of the site you
started from.
ie:
1) at site http://www.sharepoint.com/sites/finance/home.aspx
2) browse to
http://www.sharepoint.com/sites/finance/private/home.aspx
3) receive a message: you do not have access to this site ((oops went to the wrong location - I'll hit the back button))
4) click the browser back button
5) get returned to http://www.sharepoint.com/pages/home.aspx
This only happens the first time browsing to a site that I do not have rights to, after this I can browse to the same site and hit the browser back button and return to the correct site, or any other site that I do not have access to.
Any ideas as to why this happens? Ideas of where to start looking?

Hi Robert,
From your description, when you receive access denied message and hit back button in browser, it redirects you to the root site but not previous site. However, this just happens at the first time.
You may try to use some tool or check log which can tell us how does it handle the request when you hit the button. And compare the issue time and non-issue time.
I'd suggest you use Netmon tool:

How do I change the default program to open Pages docs to the old (4.3) version instead of the new one (5.0)? When I do what Apple said and go to a Pages file in finder and select "get info" then select "Pages 4.3" and "change all" it just defaults to the new one even though I'd selected the old one. Do I need to completely uninstall the new version of Pages or is there another work around because the new version of Pages comes dreadfully short of the features I need that are included in the old one?

Actually there is a workaround.
If you open the file in Pages 5, it can then be exported on Pages 0.9 format to another folder. I had to do this as the document was only in iCloud and couldn't be recoverd by Time Machine.

If you want to change to a new iCloud accout you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them. To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account.

If I open a page in a tab it will take me to a completely different site, and no matter how many times I try to close and open a new one, it keeps going to different sites. It also happens when I type the website into the address bar, it still takes me to a random site. Is it something with my computer, or is it Firefox, and if it is a problem with Firefox, how do I fix it?

If you are transferring with Wi-Fi or Ethernet and you have to transfer a lot of files, it's normal. Wi-Fi and Ethernet are the slowest methods to transfer files.
Instead, you can check if your old Mac has got a FireWire 800 port. If so, you can get a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter and a FireWire cable, so the transfer will be done by FireWire, making the migration faster.
If you don't want to spend money, continue the migration. Another thing you can do is to get an external drive, make a Time Machine backup of your old Mac and use the backup to transfer your files to the new Mac. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4889?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Every time I click a link, it opens in a new tab instead of the existing one.

Whenever I left click on any link, Firefox opens the link in a new tab. Previously it would only open a link in a new tab if I either middle clicked, or right clicked and specifically selected 'Open Link in New Tab.'

This may be because the site is instructing the browser to open them in a new tab (I know, it's a big usability issue, but the web is still young...). Can you try it on other browsers and see what happens? If the same happens, yes, it's probably the site that's telling the browser to open the link in another tab.
If you want to eliminate that behavior, and be in full control of where the links open (middle click to open in new tab, left click to open in the same tab - as it ''should'' be), I suggest you install an extension like [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/1122/ Tab Mix Plus], which, among other things (many things, it's an absolutely phenomenal extension) will let you configure "links that open in a new window" to open on the current tab.

Why is InDesign is using fake small caps instead of the real ones included in the font?

I was trying to use the small caps in Hoefler Text, which I did by hitting the small caps button. Instead of using real small caps (which should be in proportion to the capitals), InDesign created fake small caps by scaling down the capitals (which is disgustingly ugly). I know Hoefler Text includes real small caps because I can see them in the glyphs palette. How do I get InDesign to use the real small caps instead of creating the fake ones?

Just checked the font file. "Hoefler Text" comes courtesy of Mac OS X, pre-installed with your system. It's an OpenType font with TrueType outlines (actually a collection of four styles into one single file), and its typographic features, including the Small Caps charrington42 noticed in the Glyphs panel, are guided not by OpenType features but by Apple's AAT features.
InDesign cannot use AAT features; only Apple's own software can. TextEdit, for example, can access the real small capitals:
You could submit "Please support AAT" to Adobe using the Feature Request form -- I don't see anything against it. Or perhaps just the fact that it's only applicable to a small amount of fonts, and on Mac OS X only.
