if, and when you try to sign in to a 3rd system, you will be given the option to sign out from the other two systems.

After a recent hard drive crash I needed to authorise my pc again. I first de-authorised all previous computers (there was no other option)
Then I authorised the pc with the new hard drive.
then I tried to sync
Then itunes tells me iphone cannot sync as pc not authorised.

I have been playing this game 10 times now ... "cannot sync because pc not authorised" and then "cannot authorise as already authorised"

yes, a few times. the number of authorised computers decreases and increases from zero to one and vice versa accordingly. yet I am still being told that it cannot sync.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

You can activate your software on two computers. If you need to install it on a third machine (because one of the first two crashed), then you need to https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html to reset your activation count.
If you just want to reinstall it on one of the first two machines, then just reinstall and re-activate it with your serial number.

Help! I'm a newbie to this site, so I don't know if this question has been asked before, so please forgive me if it's been posted 1,000 times! My hard drive crashed so I had to have everything reinstalled on my laptop. I've got iTunes back, but it won't allow me to transfer my songs from my iPod into iTunes- I know Apple doesn't want people sharing their iPod libraries with each other so that we'll all still pay for songs, but I don't want to lose everything on my iPod or have to pay for the songs I bought again to get them back into iTunes. Is there any way I can get iTunes to download the songs back into it from my iPod? I heard of Senuti, but that only works for MAC users, and I'm on Windows XP. Any suggestions? TIA!

1) Make sure you can view hidden files. In MY computer go to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders.
2) Windows should see the ipod and your music should be on your ipod in several hidden folders. To be safe I would copy it all to say your desktop.
3) Install Itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and the Ipod updater http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ (if you don't already have it installed)
After that drag the copied folder to Itunes (drag and drop or in Itunes (File>add folder to library)
4) Plug ipod back in Itunes should see it and want to delete the contents say yes as it should all now be in your library.
YOu may need to authorise Itunes music store again by playing one of the purchased songs and than logging into your account.

I recently had a hard drive crash. I replaced the C: drive with a solid state and now have 3 internal HDs. C: for the OS (Windows 7), D: for data and P: for program installation. Because I replaced the C: drive, I had to re-install all my programs. Now, PhotoShop will not let me place text, inserting the text tool causes the program to stop responding. In InDesign, if I try to place a MS Word document, it acts as if I never did that action and I can't get it placed.
I can copy and paste, but doing so makes the formatting get left behind. I suspect it may not have installed correctly. I've used Adobe products since 1991 and never had this happen before. I even used Aldus PageMaker before the Suites were available. Can anyone help? Is it a reinstallation issue?
I use PhotoTools from OnOne and if I uninstall it to reinstall CS4, I'm afraid it will no longer honor my product key.

The faulty HD was replaced with a solid state one and that works fine. The fan that caused the errors on the old HD was removed. The system is probably not an issue since I had to reinstall my Windows 7 and it was the only thing installed on the C: drive. I have another drive that I run programs from and one other that I use only for data. Plus a backup drive. The BIOS was reset. The only remaining problems I have are trying to find the software for the web cam driver and I think I will just download it again and my problem with PhotoShop and InDesign. Those two are the sticky ones,I depend on those programs. They work, even my PhotoTools plugin works. The only problems seem to be using the type tool in PS and placing MS Word documents (.docs and .docxs) I think the program must not have installed correctly but I'm afraid if I reinstall it, it might be worse and then I might have to reinstall PhotoTools. That would require calling the company again because when I reinstalled it the last time, it said that it couldn't accept the product #, it had been used before. Yeah, by me. I called them and they gave me a new number, but I don't know if they will be happy if I do that again. So, my best bet is to see if I can fix those two functions. Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow? Or do I need a backup for some other reason?

Upgrading hard drive - do I need to reinstall everything?

As the title suggests, I'm thinking of upgrading my 40gig hard drive to something bigger and was wondering how to shift all my stuff off and back on again? I have a 250gig external firewire which I can use but had heard of "mirror imaging" the whole hard drive. Does this mean I won't have to reinstall my OS and software (InDesign, Photoshop etc) from the original disks and then upgrade via the web etc?

If there is sufficient space on the external hard drive, you can make a "disk image" of your internal drive on it using Disk Utility. The disk image is stored in a single file, which can be mounted on your desktop like a hard drive. The disk image serves as a backup and duplicate of the original disk.
Once you install the new drive, you can run Disk Utility and restore from that disk image. When complete, your new drive will have exactly the same content as your old drive. You will not need to reinstall anything.
Does your external drive have a Tiger installed on it? In other words, is it bootable?

Mac Mini Server (mid 2011): after erasing both drives, do I need to reinstall OS X on both drives or just one?

After purchasing a new mac mini, I am selling the mid 2011 server. I am not sure if I need to reinstall Yosemite on both hard drives (I have erased both drives). I assume I need to but I thought I read that I don't and have not been able to find that article again. The manuals available are only for the earlier mac mini server or my year, mid 2011, the "regular" mac mini.

You should NOT install Yosemite on your 2011 model. That model DID NOT come preinstalled with OS X Yosemite. If you do you're using YOUR Apple ID not the buyer's.
Before you sell your 2011 Mac Mini you need to install the original OS that the Mac shipped with. If it came preinstalled with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, you can use Internet Recovery (Command+Option+R) which will boot into Apple's servers and verify the Mac and allow it's preinstalled OS to be reinstalled. Here is a link that should help you prepare it for resale.

I was storing my itunes library for an ipod touch on an external drive due to space issue. This external drive crashed this yeek and I would like to restore all my music on itunes by exporting my current ipod library to itunes.
