My brother's iPod was disabled for 23 million minutes then my dad fiddled with it. Now it's stuck in recovery mode and wont connect to my computer or go into DFU mode. How do I fix it?

It's an iPod touch 4S, white.
I've tried on various computer types (windows, macs, and even a linux) and nothing. None of the computers even recognized a device being plugged in.
I know it's not the cable, our other idevices use that one fine (I bought several more to be sure and no luck).
My dad is at his wits end and I want this insanity to end. Help please.
It's been locked so long I don't know what iOS it's on.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod Touch disabled for 4342386 minutes!

So last night I let my iPod Touch chrage overnight, when I woke up and turned it on, it said it was disabled for 4342386 minutes. When I try to sync it with my computer, it wont let because its says I need to enter the passcode first on the iPod...Is there anything I can do to dump it and restore it? I have tried restarting it 10 times but same result so any help is appreciated.

Hey finnpoika19,
Try connecting the iPod to the computer you normally sync with. After disconnecting from the computer you normally sync with, you should be able to try again.

I suggest charging it for several hours, then trying again.

Ipod touch 4g stuck on book logo and wont connect to itunes, also computer sees it as a t mobile mytouch???

ipod touch 4g will only turn on when connected to the wall outlet OR I have a portable charger plugged into it and I can plug into PC that way. Computer sees it as T mobile mytouch and asks me to install drivers for it. iTunes doesnt see it at all. My ipod is now stuck on apple boot logo. I can get to itunes restore screen but computer wont recognize it to restore it to set up. Should I just junk it? iOS 4.2.1

I tried to update the ios today, and it decided to update it to 6.1.3 instead of 7, I didn't think there would be a problem, so I clicked ok. When I came to check on my phone, itunes said there was an error with the update, and my phone was in recovery mode (plug-in sign on the screen). I looked up multiple things to try, I tried putting it in DFU mode, still itunes doesn't see it. The computer also doesn't list it under devices, however when it is plugged in the Apple Mobile Support USB Driver shows up in device manager. No, it is my phone that I've had since 2009. I just hate updating it because every time I do something goes wrong. So I put it off as long as possible. I am getting a new iphone, but I read that to have your backup transfer to the new phone, it must be a backup from the current ios.

ive tryed to update my iphone 5s today to ios 7.1.1
i kicked my extention lead and shut down my computer now im stuck whit an iphone that has connect to itunes screen turning it off and on stays the same
ive been looking at Divice manager on my pc it says Apple mobile device (Recovery Mode)
if i connect my phone to my pc itunes wont start up or even connect my phone to itunes

ive found out trough Device manager on my pc that Apple recovery (iBoot) usb driver is un accesable does this mean it wont be able to connect whit my pc ?

Did you do a back up first? If so you should be able to sync to itunes again and have everything back.
