My brother stole my laptop, how to prove its mine?
As the title says,
My greedy, lowlife brother came into my apartment (it was open, stupid me, i know) and took my laptop among other things.
Its a basic Toshiba satellite i purchased from Best Buy maybe 2 years ago.
I registerd the product, but I cannot pull up the registration information without the serial number, which is on the back of the laptop I dont have.
Police said if I can prove its mine, they will escort me over there and get it.
Help please?!
Maybe the police can look up the serial number here or here?

If it is a Mac, and it has Find My Mac turned on, you can login to icloud.com and use Find my iPhone to locate the Mac.
If it isn't a Mac, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer for any security measures they might have in place.
Either way, also contact the police. -

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -

I download apps directly to my iphone. When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos/vdeos, songs downloaded on my iphone?
If you are syncing to the same computer that you always sync to, and have each of the items in itunes that you want synced then you shouldnt have an issue. The only way you would have an app come off your phone is if you uncheck that app from syncing in th apps location in itunes.

If i have already logged in my iTunes with my iPod and plugged that in, but now i have a new iPod and I want to plug that in to my laptop how would i do that with out losing anything on my new iPod and my old one. Both my ipods are on different accounts?

But i have troubol to finishing installation of window.Originally the Notebook will have the Recovery Partition and that would give you an option to create a set of Recovery Disk. If you have not created those Recovery Disks when the Notebook was in working condition we cannot do that right now
As of now if you need to recover your Notebook with the new Operating System you can check if the Recovery Partition is in a working condition or not, If yes you can easily recover/restore your Notebook
If Recovery Partition is corrupted
You need to call HP Technical Support and request for a set of Recovery Disks , So you can recover/restore your Notebook at the earliest
OR
You need call up Microsoft and purchase an Operating System with the License Key, So you can recover/restore your Notebook at the earliest
I strongly recommend you to Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance without any delay

I will give my Iphone 5 to my brother in Vietnam. How do I remove all of my information so later I don't get charged in my credit card? He can download the app and pay his own money. I don't want to get charged in my credit card in my Apple account. Thank you.
To wipe phone
Turn off imessage in settings/messages
Turn off Facetime in settings/Facetime
Delete icloud account in settings/ilcoud
Erase all data and settings in settings/general/reset
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You first need to sign into the account in iTunes on your laptop, then you need to transfer the content from your moms laptop and import it into iTunes on yours. You can do this in a number of ways, either over a network, with an external drive, or even a USB stick.
If you go to iTunes preferences > advanced on your moms laptop, it will tell you where the original files can be found. -

cheersBy design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are replacing your computer, your phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under Preferences>Devices in itunes(under the edit menu if using Windows).
2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Outlook, Windows Address Book) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
4. Store>Authorize this computer.
5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
7. Right click again and select backup.
8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
You should be good to go. -
