My buttons have disappeared

Hey Guys,
I've been having trouble with my buttons. About a week ago, I burned a test dvd of my project and everything ran perfectly. Since then, I've added a few things and the preview runs flawlessly but once I burn it, my buttons disappear. I can still navigate, but I have no clue what it is I'm clicking on. Does that sound familiar to anyone? becuase it makes no sense at all to me. I'm sure it's some mundane button that I accidentally pushed. Thanks for any assistance.

Does that sound familiar to anyone?
It sounds familiar to me, unfortunately.
I recently purchased a new Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray player to replace my aging Sony DVP-S360 DVD player.  The buttons which worked fine using the DVD player have for some reason disappeared when using the Blu-ray.  I can still navigate fine, so I know the buttons are there and working.  I just can't see them.  Even on a second and third copy.
Weirder still, an older project using the same custom buttons works fine on the Blu-ray.
I'm baffled by this behavior.  If anyone has any info, please chime in.

  • Imovie 3.0.3 edit buttons have disappeared, how do I get them back?

I am trying frantically to finish a project for work and when I opened imovie this afternoon after working with it all morning, my edit buttons have disappeared. I can view the movie but have no way to add clips, audio, etc. without the buttons. This happened once before, right after I updated my OS to Tiger 10.4.9. When I spoke with AppleCare, I believe they had me rebuild my preferences folder. It been awhile and I did not write the steps down. Can anyone help me with this?

  • Accept/Reject changes and Adjustment Brush Buttons have disappeared

The buttons that appear at the bottom of the Development Panel when using the Adjustment Brush, Crop Tool, GND Filter, etc., have STOPPED appearing on my version.  I can accept the changes by clicking on the Brush, ND filter, etc, but have no way to reject the changes other than going back in the history.  Also, the button that shows the Adjustment Brush as a "painted" area has disappeared with the rest, and so I can never specifically see the area I'm attempting to work on.  I thought perhaps I did something that hid or disabled these buttons, but I cannot find any such action.  Any ideas on this?  Thanks for any help.

While you're in the Adjustment Brush, hit the T key.

  • After updating to 3.6.18, all add-on buttons have disappeared, even though they show enabled. Why?

Menu items for add-ons, such as Delicious and Evernote are working, but there are no buttons on the toolbar. Those that buttons only and don't have menus or menu items simply do not show up at all, even though they are showing as enabled. This includes all those listed below:
    Delicious
    Feedly
    Evernote
    Amplify
    Morning Coffee
Operating System is Windows 2000 (Compatibility Report Shows Windows NT 5.0)

There may be a problem with one of the files that stores details on installed extensions. Try deleting the files as shown in the "Corrupt extension files" section of this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If one of the files listed is corrupt it can cause problems with extensions not working even if they appear to be installed.

  • Text labels on buttons have disappeared, and the tabs have moved ABOVE the address bar. Why?

Last night I updated to Firefox 29.0.1. Now, I don't mind change - and I don't mind redesigns - but I HATE it when options are removed. I want text labels on my buttons (the "Home" button for example"). In the previous version of Firefox you could right-click in the grey space at the top, and select "customise". From there, you could drag and drop which things you wanted to appear in your toolbar or not - and there was a tickbox to selext if you wanted text labels to appear underneath them or not. Now as hard as I look, I can't find this option. It looks like you're now forcing people to ONLY use icons. I hate that. My brain processes the word "Home" a lot faster than it recognises a little picture of a house. You need to understand that people work in different ways - and just because the Firefox developers might not personally use the text labels, that doesn't mean that no-one does!
What is the point in taking away the option? None at all. Please re-introduce the option. In the meantime, I will revert to the previous version of Firefox.
Additionally, I see that the tabs have now moved on top of the address bar. Again - WHY? I like them below. Why do you feel the need to make design changes - and then not give people the option to customise things how they like?

Yes you can install the Classic Theme Restorer extension without a problem.

  • System Preferences Toolbar and Toolbar Button have disappeared

My Systems Preferences toolbar disappeared, and so did the small button in the upper right that toggled the toolbar off and on. Any ideas on how to fix this without reinstalling OS X?
I do not know when the toolbar disappeared (I don't change preferences often), and I do not know if any specific actions or software installations/upgrades caused the problem.

    iTBotB,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quit System Preferences (if it's running) and trash the following file: Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
Then launch System Preferences again and check for functionality.
There is no toolbar button on the System Preferences window. My toolbar only has the following selections: ←/→, "Show All," and a "Search" field.

  • Send and reply buttons have disappeared

I am having a vexing problem with Mail in Leopard. As of today when I reply to an email, there is NO SEND BUTTON. The only way I am able to reply is if I save the reply as a draft, then open the draft and send it. If I try to simply reply there are NO buttons to do anything.
Yesterday it worked fine, today is doesn't work at all.
Has anyone experienced this or more importantly, have a solution?
    Thanks

    Scott,
Click on View in the menubar, and check if Hide Toolbar is shown, or more likely Show Toolbar. If the latter, it means your Toolbar got hidden. Click on Show Toolbar.

  • Widget "done" buttons have disappeared

The widgets on my Intel iMac have the "i" button, but when I use it (e.g. to change the zip code on a weather widget, or enter my personal info in an SMS widget), the widget flips as it should, but there's no way to get back to its front when I'm done entering info on the back side, because there's no "done" button any longer. (If I close the widget with the "x" box, the changes aren't saved; when it reopens from the manager, I get the front again, but with the old information.) I looked for a preference file in my preferences, but I don't seem to have one for dashboard. Widget manager works fine, however.
Thanks for any suggestions for getting that "done" button back! Or a workaround....

    Hi Kevin
The two .plist files don't control the display just the widgets required so I don't think they are the problem. What you could do is start a widget directly like a normall app and see if has the "Done" box.
    Mac HD / Library / Weather.wdgt
That will start Dashboard and place this widget in the middle of the screen
If you drag a new widget from the selection is it the same with no "Done" button
There is no way in Mac OS to switch Dashboard off that I have found - probably can in Terminal - however there is a nice maintenace app which will do it and a lot of other things including the Apple maintenance tasks. It loads into the right side of the menu bar and start as a login item

  • Buttons have disappeared -- cannot add buttons

I installed Firefox 4 yesterday. My buttons disappeared and when I click the "* Add buttons" it gives me a list of buttons to add but when I click an "Add button" nothing happens and the button list remains unpopulated.
This is under Microsoft XP SR3.

HI. I was just having the same problem. The way I fixed it was by going to iCloud in settings and turning it on for the Contacts app. As you may be able to see, depending on what you choose to enable iCloud with can affect your apps.
I hope this works! Good luck.

Please try going to '''View''' (or '''Alt''' + '''V''') > '''Toolbars''' and enable (tick) '''Navigation Toolbar'''. Alternatively right-click on the '''+''' on the right side of the last tab or the empty space after and choose '''Navigation Toolbar'''.

  • I have installed Firefox 4 but the "New Tab" button has disappeared. I have searched toolbars etc. but can't see it. Any ideas, please?

My "New Tab" button has disappeared off the toolbar. I have searched the toolbar menus and "Customise Toolbar" but it's just not there. Back, Forward, Stop and Reload buttons are all there.

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.<br />
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible to the left of it.<br />
*If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"<br />
*If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar<br />
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.
