My calendar keeps duplicating events.

My calendar keeps duplicating events.  I noticed it happened after I turned the iCloud calendar back on.  It ask me to merge events. Help anyone?

You get duplicates, one from iCloud and another when you sync with your computer, IF iTunes is set to sync from the computer to the iPhone. Check your device settings (general tab, IIRC) in iTunes.

Do you use MobileMe and an iPhone? If yes, do this in the following order:
    Mac:
    (1) back up the applications giving you problems
    iPhone
    (1) Open settings, then open "mail, contacts, calendars"
    (2) Open .Mac account
    (3) Turn OFF the applications that are causing problems
    (4) When you turn off on of the applicatios, a red sign "stop syncing" will appear. Press it. A msg will appear "turning off xxx"
    (5) Get out of settings
    (6) Don't do anything for about 20 mins. Don't touch your iPhone or your Mac. (syncing needs time to settle down)
    After 20 minutes...
    Mac:
    (1) Open each application that is giving you problems. Fix errors. Back up.
    (2) Do this for each application
    iPhone
    (1) Open settings, then open "mail, contacts, calendars"
    (2) Open .Mac account
    (3) Slide switch to ON for each app you turned off; there won't be a msg
    (4) Get out of settings
    (5) Via MobileMe, syncing will start again.
Wait about 20 minutes, again. You should see all in order after that. At least, that was my experience.

  • Ical keeping both events when I move events from one google calendar to another

    Hi all!
I use multiple google calendars and sync them with my iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Air. I like to move events from one calendar to another (for color coding purposes), and am coming across a unique issue that I hope someone has a solution to.
When I edit an event by moving the event from one calendar to another the events show up correctly on the iPhone and iPad, but not in my iCal on MacBook Air. (Only when I make the changes on my iPhone and iPad). For example, when I switch an event originally created in my 'appointments' calendar to my 'done' calendar the event shows up appropriately on iPhone and iPad, and even in my Google calendars on the web. But, the iCal on my MacBook Air keeps both events. This only happens when I make the changes from the iPhone or iPad. If I make calendar changes on my computer, then there are no hiccups on any of the devices.
It seems like a syncing issue with iCal, and I can't figure out how to prevent the duplications in my iCal on my computer from showing up. Quite annoying because I have to go in and delete all of the duplicated events on the computer at the end of the day.
I have the Mavericks OS on my MBA and the software on my iPad and iPhone are updated to the latest software.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks!

    Petrill,
Thank you. I was trying to do that yesterday, but it was grayed out. It seemed to work alright today.
    Thanks,
    Sheena

  • Duplicated events on iCal, and even more on iPod calendar

I am using the latest version of Mac OS X Lion and an iPod Touch 2G with the latest compatible iOS update (4.2.1)
I gave iCloud a try, but after syncing with my iPod, I wouldn't be able to create or edit events in my iCloud calendars (which were previously the "On My Mac" Calendars)
I decided to stop syncing iCal with iCloud so that I would be using "On My Mac" calendars that could be modified on my iPod.
I exported each calendar. Stopped syncing with iCloud (which deletes those calendars from my mac) and then imported them within new calendars that were named and organized as I previously had.
However, I started seeing duplicate or multiple event entries on my Mac and on the iPod Touch.
I tried to delete the duplicates from the Mac, and some of them delete, some don't.
It is weird because I have duplicates of the Address Book Birthday calendar too, which shouldn't have duplicated events that cannot be deleted.
Another thing that happens is that in iCal there are events that appear correctly, just one time. But checking on my iPod, I see the same event 7 times!
Please, somebody help and guide me. I am a heavy user of the calendar on both devices and need a fix soon.
    Thanks!

I have the exact same problem.
    Can't figure it out.
It is very annoying and time consuming deleting the duplicate items.

  • How do i keep my events from tripling on my calendars

how do i keep my events from tripling on my calendars? I have the date once on mac and once on phone but on i pad it shows up three times and some I have not even figured out how to delete on the i pad

Open FaceTime preferences>Settings and uncheck iPhone Cellular Calls.

  • IPhone keeps erasing events in Calendar

Why does my iPhone keep erasing events in Calendar? When an event is about a month old, it's erased. They're kept in iCal, but I'd really like to keep them on my iPhone, too.

Go to Settings>Mail,Calendars,Contacts, scroll down to Calendars section and set Sync to a longer time period.

  • My calendar keeps deleting new events and if I make a change to an old event it keeps reverting it back to its original time. How do it stop this from happening?

How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

  • Duplicated events on iCal after moving to iCloud

Hi, i just updated mi iphone 4 to iOS5, then updated iTunes, then updated OSX Lion to 10.7.2, then moved to icloud...
Everything seems to be ok, but there's a problem: my events duplicated on iCal in my macbookpro...
    Every input has cloned itself!
But, when checking on icloud and on my iphone, no duplicates!
So... what should i do?, 'cause if i delete a duplicated event from iCal in my computer, leaving only one, the event erases at all in iCloud and in my iPhone...
    Weird.
    Any suggestions?
I appreciate your time, thank you!

Hi Jorge. I just went through this entire process. I was able to rid myself of duplicates, however, I am still trying to figure out how to match a hard copy to my Mac without creating duplicates.
    - Make sure you have your events on the Mac
    - Go to iCloud on phone and turn off iCloud on everything (for now). It will tell you it will delete everything off iCloud (this is fine if you have everything you need on your Mac).
    - Go into iTunes on Mac and "turn of Sync with this iPhone over Wi-fi" & check "back up to this computer"
-Go to info tab in iTunes on Mac. Check sync "contacts" & sync "calendars"
    - While you are in the info tab also check "calendars" & "contacts" in the Replace Information on This iPhone section under Advanced.
    - Synch
    - If everything matches up properly go back to iPhone and turn iCloud back on for what you want
    - Go to iCal on Mac and in the top left hand corner there is a "calendar" button that when you click it, it shows calendars for "On my Mac" and "iCloud".
    - You can delete the "On my Mac" calendars to rid yourself of the duplicates.
***This is how I did it. You may be able to just delete the "On my Mac" calendars but I am not sure if that will take them off of iCloud and your iPhone. You can give it a try first as it may be less time consuming.
So, my issue is still trying to figure out how to keep matching calendars as a backup on Mac without the duplicates. Any takers?

  • ICal calendars keep disappearing

I maintain identical calendars on both of my computers, keeping them synched via .Mac. Recently all of the calendars disappeared. Events and To Does appeared for the current month, but I was unable to change between months. Soon the whole thing quit working.
I restored one set of calendars from Time Machine and got it working. After adding in the new dates that dropped out in that process, I copied the entire Calendars file (User/Library/Calendars) directly over to the other computer. That worked—for one day. Now all the calendars are missing again from my laptop, and it's right back to where it was.
Also, as part of that process I replaced all the calendar data on .Mac with data from the working calendar, just in case there was contamination from problem stored on .Mac.
What's going on? And is there is a fix?
    Thanks.

    gswank2,
What's going on? And is there is a fix?
I just made this post to another user, but it bears repeating.
    I recommend that you read:
    1. How to reset .Mac Sync
    2. How-To: Truly reset your .Mac sync data
My primary advice is to ensure that you use the backup feature on iCal before you try anything else. If you are using different versions of OS X/iCal the menu commands will be slightly different, but the comfort of having a good backup is "Priceless."

  • My iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I put in

Ever since updating to 7.0.2, my Iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I input for an event to different times. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

Are you syncing your phone with iTunes and then with iCloud? This can cause duplicates. Sync with one or the other, but not both.

  • 12 keeps duplicating when I import.

Elements 12,  keeps duplicating the images in Organizer on its own.  How can I stop  this, and how can I easily get rid of these unwanted duplicate images? I do not want to delete the images on my camera photo card.

Ok here is the way I did it as best I can remember:
I directly copied the picture files from XP to Windows 8.1 over my wireless connection, along with the rest of my files. I then installed the new version of Elements (12) on the Windows 8.1 machine. Then backed up the catalog on the Version 8 of Elements on the XP machine. On the new machine, I restored the catalog in the new version of Elements (12). I had to specify to use the Pictures folder used in Windows 8.1 rather than the My Pictures folder used on XP.
This is very much the same method I used when I upgraded to version 8 and had no problem with it. Of course, the path “My Pictures” was the same because I was using Windows XP in both cases.
Watch folders is not turned on in either version. I generally copy the pictures from the camera card to the pc to the folders I want to use under Pictures organized as I described in the original message. Then in Elements I use Get pictures from files and folders to bring the pictures into the catalog organizing them into Albums and Events as needed. I have done this ONLY with new pictures that I have taken since upgrading.
I definitely want to avoid this problem in the future. It was very frustrating and time consuming to correct. Just want to understand what happened and what I might have done incorrectly. Also, someone else might have had the same problem or we could prevent anyone else from having it.
Thank you for your time and thoughts.
    Have a good day!
    Sheila

  • Since downloading OS 6 for my iPad, my calendar keeps issuing repeated alerts - even though I didn't even initiate one.  Is there a way to stop this from happening?  Thanks for your input !

Since downloading OS6 for my iPad, the calendar keeps issuing repeated & different alerts for events even when I initiated none.
Any suggestions as how to stop this will be most appreciated.
    Thank you in advance !

This is the same issue that has plagued me for years. I always thought that this was a Flash plugin issue, but it does occur on HTML5 as well. A friend of mine verified that this does not occur in Linux, but only on Windows. It would be great to have this fixed, as it's honestly the only thing that's making me use Chrome all the time, as I don't want to have multiple browsers open.

why do contacts keep duplicating in my address book?
i started to download maverick, paused, then finished, decided i didn't want it and deleted it from applications.
meanwhile my address book listings within each group are duplicating, the names are being deleted, and i am left with a list of some emails and some names within each group.  i have tried to correct them one by one but they revert to the email or duplicate.

  • Duplicated events

My manager emailed me our work schedule and since we have tons of duplicated events, it is being rejected by icloud. How do I allow the duplicates to stay?

Open the calendar application on your Mac and create a new iCloud calendar with an appropriate name (such as Work Schedule) by going to Calendar>New Calendar>iCloud.  Then import the .ics file to the new calendar by going to File>Import>Import, navigate to your .ics file.  When prompted to choose where to import it. click the drop-down menu and select the new iCloud calendar you just created and Import.  Wait until the rotating wheel at the top of the left sidebar disappears and you new calendar should appear in iCloud.
You shouldn't encounter any duplicate event errors because you are importing it into a separate calendar.
