My calendar on iCloud is missing most older events

My calendar on iCloud is missing all but recurring events that happened a year or more ago. I have therefore lost these events on my MacBook and Touch, too. I have an old backup of my calendar data, but it seems that if I use this to restore iCal on my MacBook, I'll lose all newer events.  Can I merge the two backup files? When I tried to use an old backup to populate my calendar on the MacBook, I got an error message that it would wipe out the data now on my calendar.  I want to merge the old data with newer events.  Is there a workaround that will let me do this?  I imagine this happened when I moved to iCloud, but it seems unlikely that I would not have looked for older events on my calendar (and found them missing) since then.
In addition to one iCal backup, I have Time Machine, which doesn't seem to allow you to look at older calendars, and a versioned backup to an external drive using Data Backup.  I thought that one of these would let me look at old calendar data, but it's almost pointless if I can't merge the data or at least have a separate calendar for older data.

i had this problem too, but after looking at this post I went into settings, iCloud and toggled the Calendars to on (green). I then went back into the calendar and the plus sign was available.

  • I copied my PC calendar to iCloud, and all the entries disappeared

The same thing happened a couple of months ago when I copied my contacts.
I did both because iCloud wasn't working, and neither was hard-wire syncing without iCloud. Now I'm missing most calendar entries and most contacts. Is there any way to get them back?
Both times, the copying took awhile, and my computer showed that the copying was taking place. Where on earth could this information have gone?

The reason is that you connected her phone to *your* icloud account, instead of hers.  All you need to do is disconnect from the current account (yours) and reconnect to her account.
Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  Then log in using a different ID.
Doing this will remove Apple data from her phone and redownload stuff from her account.  But this will not delete any of your data from icloud.com or your devices.

  • Birthday calendar on iCloud sort by last name first name like my contacts

birthday calendar on iCloud sort by last name first name like my contacts

Curiously, the most recently inputted entries do sort properly, as do all company entries.
Does that mean "most recently inputted" AFTER you upgraded to Snow Leopard?
If that is true, it would mean that something about your existing records before the upgrade, for the records that are people contacts (with first and last names) instead of business contacts, do not agree with Snow Leopard and/or Snow Leopard's version of Address Book.
This may not be feasible, but if you exported the records with this problems and then imported them, maybe they will be re-inputted so that are properly sorted.
If you use Time Machine, maybe you can use the +flying through space+ interface to restore one of the records with this problem to see if the restore process makes the record sort properly.

  • HT4759 I can see everything but my calendar in icloud also on my phone.  How do I get my calendar to sync?

I recently got an ipad and am having great success with that.  It shows and syncs everything it's supposed to, but my calendar is not syncing with my iphone and also doesn't show up in icloud.  Just a side note.....my reminders sync on icloud, iphone and ipad just great.  I am only having problems with the calendar.  Please advise if anyone has any ideas.  Thanks.

If new calendar events added to your iPad do not appear on icloud.com, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and make sure this is set to iCloud.  If it isn't, make this change, then add a new event and see if it appears on your calendar on icloud.com now.
If your settings are correct but new events still won't sync, you'll have to add any missing events from your iPad calendar to your calendar on icloud.com.  When the calendar on icloud.com is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On again.  Then add a new event on your iPad and confirm that it syncs to icloud.com now.

Any help is appreciated.  When syncing my iphone I get an message, "itunes could not sync calendars to the iphone because an error ocurred while merging data" I sync my calendar to outlook.  My iphone calendar has all and the most updated information.  Outlook calendar only shows my recurring events.

    hi there,
i've found a great & simple solution for this problem
just open your iCloud acc on iPhone
turn off calendars (it wil ask you to keep info or not - KEEP IT!)
    and turn back on (MERGE!)
    now SYNC it..
    and that's it
PS in my case it was contacts so the procedure is the same..

  • HT5029 IOS calendar to icloud calendar

Help me understand this better. If I subscribe to a calender on a IOS device the calendar will not show up on the icloud.com calendar? Is this correct? And if it is, is there any way so subscribe to a calendar on icloud.com so it will show up there too?

I still can not understand why Apple would not see this as an important piece of functionality.
I specifically subscribe to my sporting teams calendar and Facebook events calendar that change throughout the year, simply downloading the calendar to my icloud calendar leaves me with incorrect dates or missing events.
Pushing subscribed calendars is easily worked around by subscribing to the calendars on each IOS device, but now i am having to add events manually it simply means my subscribed calenders are redundent.
The only solution for me is to not use icloud.com for my calendar which is not a good solution.
Is there a way you can setup a calendar on icloud.com, subscribe to it in outlook and then sync that calendar with another calendar via a third party tool ? Obviously not a simple workaround but could potentially work.

  • HT5029 How do I link my subscribed calendars between icloud and my ios devises on a windows pc?

How can I link my subscribed calendars between icloud and my ios devises on my windows 7 pc?

I am having a problem that I cannot find addressed. My old computer TOTALLY died - it won't even turn on to deauthorize, back-up, and all those other steps given to transfer my music. All the info I have found, says you can authorize up to 5 devices etc, but so far, nothing is working. I just want to transfer my library, and don't have hours to spend on this. I have searched and searched, and really sincerely need help, and please - only helpful comment - yeah, obviously I am missing something some where. If anyone can offer some kind advice, I would REALLY be grateful!

  • My calendar on iCloud and all Hw is deleted after an on-line crash

    hello guys;
I am facing a huge crisis here following the dissaparence of one of my calendar on iCloud and all of my Hw (iPhone, iPad and MacBook) after an on-line crash.
    Facts:
    - I have been using MobileMe and then iCloud for years on all of my equipment as well as on line
    - The concept is obviously to have a "safe" place to stock my datas (Pro and Personel)
    - I had 3 calendars (one - obviously the most important one for my work and personal life), one with the program of my daughter, the third one for the family activities;
Yesterday I was encoding an entry and my calendar app crashed/stalled on my MacBook. I therefore, did a force closing of the calendar app and relaunched it.
To my horror, the calendar (the main one) "dissaperared". I immediately checked on my iphone and ipad - too late - the calendar was removed as well.
I tried to do a backup via my time capsule but I don't seem to be able to do it for the calendar.
PLEASE ANYBODY help - all of my pro and personal activities were encoded. The most difficult thing is that I have encoded many facts about my daughter like her size, etc and I really would like to get them back.
If anybody could help I would really appreciate it.
I am currently working on a mission in Africa and therefore can not call the call center in Europe. It seems that I can not find a "on-line" call center.
    thanks guys

I have actually called the call center
The answer is : if it crashed your data's is lost - that's it and they hanged up!!!!
So, I am seriously wondering if using Calendar is the right solution on iCloud !!! It seems if I understand that the data's is then NOT protected and that it can be lost!!!!

  • Subscribed calendars to iCloud?

In my multiple iOS mobile devices I have the US Holidays added as a "Subscribed Calendar"
I would like them to appear also on my browser based iCloud Calendar (https://www.icloude.com/#calendar).
There is no way to subscribe to calendars for the iCloud App (Apple please consider this) so I am missing all these events there.
However I was hoping that since they appear on my iPhone/Pad they would get synchronized with the Windows desktop iCloud calendar.
That doesn't seem to be happeninng, however.  Is there anyway to get the "ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics" calendar subscription to work on the PC desktop?

    randers4 -
Thanks for all your efforts, but I am NOT using Outlook.  I am running the iCloud Calendar web page as a "App" in Google Chrome.
Works like a charm and is beautifully sync'd with changes I make there or on an iOS device.  Indeed changes appear everywhere within less than 5 seconds typically.
I have everything I want on the mobile devices, I just can't get the US Holidays to show up in the web based browser iCloud window, as there seems to be no mechanism to push such additional calendars into the cloud, and the mobile devices do not seem to sync anything other than their "native" calendar.
Thus I am trying to get this holiday calendar to show up only on the web based browser viewed (on a PC) iCloud Calendar.

  • HT1349 How can I print my calendar in iCloud?

How can I print my calendar in iCloud?

I am shocked that calendars are still printed. [tongue in cheek ]
iCloud is a function to share/sync my calendar between iMac, macbook, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The calendar is always at my finger tips and I can view it on any and all those devices and know it is current and correct. I can't imagine carrying a piece of paper, which may be out of date, missing updates, adds, and deletes minutes after it is printed.

  • Moving/merging a Google calendar to iCloud

I have a client with a proliferation of iCloud and Google Calendars,so that some of them overlap in function. For example, he's got both a "Work" calendar set up in iCloud and a "Work" calendar set up in Google Calendars. These have mostly different events. We want to simplify this by merging all overlapping calendars into single iCloud calendars, and also moving any unigue Google Calendars completely to iCloud. When we're finished we simply want a set of five or six iCloud calendars and no Google calendars.
I"ve tried to do this by exporting the particular Google calendar to a file via iCal's "Export" function, and then using iCal's "Import" function to load the events into the appropiate iCloud calendar. When I do this, I get the following error message pop up almost immediately:
Clicking on either of the choices does not seem to fix the issue, the message continues to pop up every few minutes.
Can anyone suggest a way to completely move and/or merge all the events in a Google calendar into an iCloud calendar?
    Thanks!
    BTW, we're running Mac OS10.8.2

  • Problems moving calendar to iCloud

The "move" has been going on for over 12 hours.  Everything from the last five months is spotty - a few events are there, but most are not, and there are no future events showing.  Any help?

Unfortunately, the solution seems to be to disconnect from iCloud and then re-establish the calendar from iCloud.  I had a complete calendar on my Mac.  When I tried to move it to iCloud (so that I could then successfully sync my iPhone running 7.04), some of it uploaded, but some didn't.  I literally watched  as events from this month disappeared off of the calendar.  The version that is currently on iCloud is therefore incomplete (no future appointments for example) and restoring from that does not fix my calendar. Any other alternatives?
    Thanks though.

  • Sync calendar by icloud

Can you only sync calendar by icloud?

    Barney-15E,
thanks for pointing to another option... i just can't accept that if i don't want to use icloud, my calendar and contact are pretty much useless. i feel i may be missing something here, that there is another simple option, or it is the fact that apple is trying to jam icloud down my throat?
anyway... i wonder if you know well enough to help me, barney-15e, to set this up. i am stuck at this step from the baikal instructions:
    shdh-dhcp-xxx-xxx:~ xxx$ apachectl configtest
Syntax error on line 20 of /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf:
Invalid command 'NameVitrualHost', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
what am i missing? is this too complicated, involving installing other stuff? keep in mind i work for a large institution -- would this work with all the  firewall and security my employer may have up?
if this works, i intend to set up the same thing with my home mac.
    thanks.

  • Sync calendars to iCloud

I have many iCal events that appear on my Mac but not on iCloud.  It appears that things for this year are stored on iCloud but a lot of stuff in previous years is not stored.  How can I get older events onto iCloud?
    Thanks!

    Carolyn -
I took your advice and deselected and reselected the Calendars box in iCloud preferences.  That rearranged some of the events, but older events still do not appear in iCloud, though they appear on my Mac.  Is there a setting related to the age of past events to be synched?  There is on the iPhone but I do not see anything like that in iCloud or in iCloud preferences on my Mac.  With MobileMe there was a way to reset the sync history.  Is there something similar in iCloud?
    Thanks!

  • Iphone 4S will not transfer calendar throug iCloud to MacAir

My wife's iPhone 4S iCAL information will not transfer to her MacAir or MacBook Pro using iCloud, what is the problem?

If new events added to her iPhone do not appear on her calendar on icloud.com, on her phone go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and be sure she has selected an iCloud calendar as your default and not something else like On My iPhone, a Google calendar, etc.  If she hasn't, make this change, then add a new event and see if it appears on her calendar on icloud.com now.
If her settings are correct and new events still aren't appearing on icloud.com, add any missing calendar events from her phone to her calendar on icloud.com.  Once her calendar on icloud.com is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so, turn Calendars back to On.  Then add a new event on her phone and see if it appears on her calendar on icloud.com (and her Macs) now.
