My camera flash goes off without me using the camera?

While using my Galaxy S-4 once in awhile the camera flash goes off while reviewing my emails or during something other than using the camera Has anybody have the same problem over the past month?

I haven't seen it reported on the S4, but several S3 users mentioned it after the latest update that phone received. You might try going to Settings > Accessibility > Flash notification ... if the box is checked, uncheck it. If it isn't checked, check it and then uncheck it. I'd suggest then restarting the phone.

Sorry to hear about the issue. Please make a backup with Nokia Suite. Then reinstall the phone software. The process is the same as when updating with Nokia Suite, but at the end select "Reinstall".
You can also type in *#7780# followed by lock code (default is 12345). This is soft reset, no data lost. The settings will be restored to factory state.

Factory restore your device and Set up as New. (Remember to sync and back everything up first) This isolates the problem to either hardware or software. Take another test photograph. If it still continues to happen, seek service at an Apple Retail Store because this is a hardware issue and this will be covered under your hardware warranty. You can only copy from SD Card/Camera to iPad. It won't work from iPad to SD Card.

Another thing I have noticed - sometimes when I receive a text, the camera flash goes off

The LED-on-message is a feature that can be enabled/disabled in Settings/General/Accessibility.
However, if you don't have this feature enabled, there's a bug in your phone...
This is the feature description, taken from the latest iPhone User Guide:
If you can’t hear the sounds that announce incoming calls and other alerts, you can have iPhone flash its LED (next to the camera lens on the back of the iPhone). This works only when iPhone is locked or asleep. Available for iPhone 4 or later.
Turn on LED Flash for Alerts: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > LED Flash for Alerts.

My iphone flash goes off randomly. Not the flash alert for texts and calls. Just randomly. It will stay on. I have to hit phone to make it go off. I read online it's probably a short in the phone. What should I do? Will apple fix it?

im off on holiday soon and really want to travel with my n95 8gb.
does anyone know of a way to actually tuen the phone bit off and just use the camera and video camera as to not interfere with the planes instruments i.e. no mobile phones allowed.
no idea if there is a way to do this but it would be useful if i could

Briefly press power and then select the OFFLINE profile.
This will turn off all radios.
Just be aware that on some flights some flight attendants may not allow phone usage even in OFFLINE mode.

All you need to do is turn on Airplane Mode. It's in the settings, or the easier way is to swipe up from the bottom to open the Control Center and turn on Airplane Mode there. It's the first button at the top, with the airplane icon.
When you turn on Airplane Mode all of your data is shut off. You can optionally turn on just Bluetooth and Wifi if you want; for example, if you wanted to use the cruise ship wifi without turning on your phone radio, or if you wanted to use a Bluetooth speaker or keyboard. But if you don't need all that just turn on Airplane Mode and leave Bluetooth and Wifi off.

Chances are you saved the file as a jpg -- which does not support transparency.
Save the file as a psd or tiff and see if that solves the problem.

No, that's not a problem or fault with the camera.
That's normal. It's a very short duration, partial power flash that the camera fires before the full power flash, to measure the distance to subject and amount of light needed by the flash when it fires. A "pre-flash", if you will.

Volume up button sounds like the camera is going off

When I press my volume up button it sounds like the camera is going off but no pictures are being taken. Any idea why this happens?

Then it might be worth attempting a restart of the iPhone, and then a reset, should that not resolve the issue.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
