MY CAMERA FOLLOWS MY MOVEMENTS

Hi everyone,
I was doing Skype with my friend. She has a Mac PC, and I have a Widows one.
The thing is that I started to move side to side and my camera zoomed in and followed my movements side to side. Then, I stopped, and the camera zoomed out and stopped following me.
She could see this from her PC, but I couldn't from mine...
What do you think the problem is?

Face tracking and auto zoom are two webcamera settings that would create those effects. I have always seen zoom changes in the preview but I don't believe I own a camera with built-in face tracking so I haven't had a chance to see what occurs there. It's possible face tracking may or may not display that in the preview depending on how it's implemented or initialized in camera driver or 3rd party virtual camera software. If your camera has those features you should be able to disable them in your webcam settings. If it's somehow implemented by virtual camera software (Manycam, Youcam, etc.) then the ability to disable it would be in their software settings.
Another possibility for noticeable changes is if the person is viewing your video feed in full screen. Depending on the resolution of the person's monitor or device the feed could be zoomed in and cropped to maintain the full screen aspect ratio. This could possibly cause face/eye tracking to be more noticeable as a person moves when compared to a non-cropped video feed.

Camera following a moving object

Hi all,
Im trying to make a little game in Java3D and im stuck on the following problem
I create a world with a moving car in it. All works fine and i let the car move using KBRotPosScaleSplinePathInterpolator.
This all works very fine, the thing is is that i want to add a camera the program which follows the moving car so that we get a 3d person look. Like we have in Grand Theft Auto for example. Any pointers or perhaps an example on how to accomplish this?

Try to get the TransformGroup of the viewPlatform, the use it as a target of any Interpolator as u desire.
SimpleUniverse universe;
TransformGroup camera = universe.getViewingPlatform().getViewPlatformTransform();

Camera Z-Axis Movement Shutters

Hello,
I've encountered this issue before and was hoping somebody could help me solve this most frustrating quirk.
When I do a slow Z-Axis move with a camera, either pushing in or pulling out, near the end of the movement on the easy-ease, the image shutters as it is coming to a stop - as if I am on a bumpy road and not a dolly track.
I am using Illustrator graphics with rasterize on.
Any help much appreciated as it renders some moves not usable. I don't understand why the movement isn't smooth like a track left/right is.

This problem is usually referred to as a critical panning speed.

While less likely to happen on a push in or out from the space, the edges may still judder or strobe. Make sure that motion blur is turned on, and then try changing the speed a little bit here or there. Also, make sure that you are getting smooth playback. Depending on the codec you used to render your final product, this may be just a playback issue. I can't tell anything though, without seeing more details about your project.

Can't share/email camera imported films/movies

Hi,
I posted earlier about iphoto and the migliampeg4 plugin. I looked in the crash log and found it and deleted it and now I can import movies from my camera and pictures off my phone.
The only thing I find now is that when i try to share/email films are .mov I can't do it anymore and the option is greyed out. I used to be able to set the size of my film and it would be approx 10% of the original file size but it would reduce small enough for me to email.
Can anyone let me know what is going on. I find movies are now itunes and not quicktime. not sure if that has anything to do with it. Will still play around with settings but would appreciate some help or pointers.

The way I import is:
Command I - then double clicking on the file name.
See screen shot. This method has worked for every other video I've done. I believe it saves the file in the library. I also create optimized and proxy media.
When I Control click and choose Reveal in Finder, nothing happens. It stays only showing AVCHD.
Funnily enough - just now - and not because of any action of my own - the clip we have been discussing is now seen by FCPX. No more yellow icon in the clip or project names. However, when I try to share the video, I get the below error message.
This situation has repeated itself for the last few days - it's very frustrating :-/
Do you have any ideas? Thank you for your help.

Camera with I movie

i sight camera is not detected when i am using i movie after upgrading the OS to 10.9.1

Try these, in this order:
(1) Restart Mac. Then test to see if the trouble is resolved.
(2) Use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then test to see if the trouble is resolved.
(3) Reinstall OS X and repair permissions again. Then test to see if the trouble is resolved.
(4) Create a new user account and test there to see if there is something wrong with your normal account.

Camera won't move after export from after effects CC to c4d lite, need advice

Did a lot of tries, with no luck.
I did Camera tracking, the results weren't that good. the footage came from Canon 5d Mark-iii, with 14 samyang lens.
after getting the results, I could add a null object that seem to be locked into the scene and movement, I created the camera as well but when exporting to c4d. the camera isn't moving with no key frames

What sequence to be followed to move tranport req's from r/3 dev- quality

we are having our landscape as
r/3 dev -> bi dev
r/3 quality -> bi dev
r/3 prod -> bi prod
we are now in development and moving all our transport requests from r/3 dev -> r/3 quality. and our r/3 quality will be connected to bi dev.
we have to make a list of transport requests in a sequence taking care of all the dependencies.
Can anyone please explain what all things have to be taken care when making a list of our transport requests from r/3 dev to r/3 quality.
for example : Like we have many enhancements that are done to the standard datasources.
suppose we have list of transport requests like this what should be the order of preference.
1. request1-datasource activation.
2. request2- new append structure
3. request3-changes to extract structure (adding them from the pool into lbwe)
4. request4-new data element created for within the above append structure.
5. request5 - cmod code for transaction data zxrsau01 program
6. request6- cmod code for master data zxrsau02 program.
we have seen issues like we found some appended fields missing in quality system after transporting.
please help me with the sequence in which transport requests ( r/3 datasources )have to be transported from r/3 dev to r/3 quality

one last question
when transporting requests related to generic datasources from dev to quality or dev to pro what should be the order of transports.
is it the same order as for standard datasources?
we have following requests related to our generic datasource
request1: data element used in append structure
request2: request for append structure
request3 : data source activation.
What is happening is like when we are following the above order we see that in our datasource all the appended fields are hidden (hide tick).
so we have followed the order
request1
request 3
request 2
request3 again.
Can any one explain if this is that right order . becoz now we see all the append structure fields hide-untick but
importing request 3 twice seems something odd. can anyone explain why this is happening

I movie hd into my new i mac that came with i movie only!

I just got a new i mac dual core 24". I have a older i=mac with imovie hd and upraded to ilife 08. I was able to retrieve the old version of i movie hd from my applications folder as old version. Now i have gotten a new i-mac and do not see any other versions other than imovie (which i do not like at all-it's a joke) I am curious as to how to go about getting imovie hd in this big bad boy so it can make real movies. hope you can help me have a pulse again.

thank you neil, since i have a bunch of third party add ons to imovie hd, could i make a copy of the application in my older i-mac and burn it to a disc, then put it in the new i-mac to hopefully keep all my upgrades? or does this file copying even work that way. I am now aware that i can do the download now (thanks to you) just wondered if the other option would work in your opinion.

Resolution of the isight camera into eye movie

Can I take the video from i movie that was caught from isight and import it into FCP without an aspect ration change?
I don't know much about i movie, but when I save a QT video, the aspect ratio for DV looks good, but when I export or even try to edit a capture from the isight, it is squashed and truncated.
Am I missing something simple here?

I don't use FCP, but, if I understand what you are trying to do, perhaps you are missing
the iMovie > Share > Export Final Cut XML... menu command?

N96 Video Camera Mode - Noise Movies

Dear All,
I love my phone so far, but I'm bit disapointed with the audio of the movies that I can make with my phone, I had a 5300 and the audio quality was better.
I have TOO MUCH noise, even when I somehow try to close the mic. Even doing that I can still get sound...
Looks like the mic volume is TOO HIGH, and I can not adjust it.
Anybody have the same problem?
Any tip or trick?

I have this same problem but with some added caveats...
If I copy the recorded video to my computer and play it from there then there is no noise i.e. it only occurs when playing through the N96.
Also, I get the same really annoying loud hissing when playing games through N-Gage. The only 2 I have installed so far are Tetris and Reset-Generation - It happens with both of these unles I turn the sound off in-game.
Was wondering if you chaps have the same extra issues or if it's just limited to recorded videos.
I spoke to Three "Technical" support yesterday who have given me the name/number of a local repair centre to go and get the handset checked, but I'm thinking it's more likely to be a firmware issue, as I'm on Three UK and the software version is still 10.065, with Three not able to tell me when/if they'll release an update (tempted to change product code & update anyway - invalidating warranty I know).
Other than that, after having had the phone over the weekend I'm pretty chuffed with it (speed has improved since I first got it), other than the battery, but then if I do run GPS, 3G and BBC iPlayer at the same time for a few hours it's to do be expected!
Any thoughts on the audio thing? Same issues for you guys or am I on my own?
