My camera is no longer able to take macro pics
Title says it all. After 4.4 my camera can no longer take Macro photos. Everything at very close range comes out blurry, regardless of lighting. This is absolutely terrible, as taking macro photos is pretty much my favorite use of the Z1 camera.
Has anyone else tried taking macro photos and had trouble?
Now that I have the chance, I want to show you a picture - it will describe the problem much better than words.
Keep in mind that I used Auto mode and touch focus. The focus was selected to be exactly where the blurry part is. There isn't much difference in Manual mode.

I tried this several times, holding the focus, choosing different angles, and using different lighting conditions. This picture speaks for itself. Please compare this to an older photo, taken under TERRIBLE light condtions, before the 4.4 update:

Can you spot the difference in quality? The photographer is the same, as well as the phone...

That's strange. The lens shouldn't have made any difference. Does the camera do JPG OK with that lens fitted? Did the samera come with software to convert RAW files, and if so, does it work on the problem files?
When I checked your camera against this list, I see it has two entries for the required version, so I suspect that the lens electronics require a slightly later version of ACR. If I am right, you'll have Camera RAW 5.7 and you need 6.1 So what version of Photoshop do you have? You need CS5 to support ACR 5.#

If you have CS4, then you'll need to install the latest DNG conversion software, which is free. You'll then be able to open the files in Photoshop CS4 -
Razr Maxx no longer able to take screen shots
Hi all,
I've had a ton of trouble with the Razr Maxx. I've been through a few of the phones. First ICS update killed the phone, I've consistently had a Maxx that won't hold 4g connection in strong 4g areas and requires it to be put into airplane mode or shut off to get the 4g data back.
Here's a new one though. The phone was getting scorching hot so installed the battery monitor app to track how hot it was getting and for how long. The phone is roughly hitting 115+ multiple times a day. So I was taking screen shots of it to show some friends to ask them for input on fixing this. Out of the blue and without the addition or update of any of my apps my phone won't take screen shots anymore. It's still also getting ridiculously hot which is a scary thing but completely aside from the inability to take screen shots.
hints, help, suggestions?I clear the cache every so often and I have done it about a half dozen times since the battery started getting hot and the screenshot hasn't been working. I have 4g signal with this replacement (3rd razr maxx)and it doesn't seem to have the connectivity issues as previously. I'll take the SIM out regardless though. I grabbed a new SIM for this phone when I received this replacement. About a month old or so. I'm good with working around the phone. Factory reset didn't solve the issue either, it just made me mad that I still had the issue and now I had to spend an hour to get the phone where it was previously. I'm getting tired of wasting my time with the Maxx. The battery life was nice, but it's getting tedious.

Camera connection no longer works after 10.4.7 update
Today in the middle of a shoot I made the mistake of letting Software Update download the 10.4.7 OS update. As soon as I rebooted my Canon camera was no longer able to connect to my Powerbook. In the System Profiler under USB it indicates that the camera is connected, but Canon's software just hangs or tells me to check the connection. If I switch the camera to PTP and launch iPhoto the camera doesn't appear either.
Everything worked fine before the update. I shoot in tethered mode so using a card reader will not help me with that. Canon support says that 10.4.7 was released to solve a connection problem with 10.4.6, but for me it has had the opposite effect. I am the first person to report this problem, though there have been issues with users of Intel Macs which were solved by reinstalling software. I reinstalled and updated everything to no avail. Anybody have any ideas or similar experience.
I certainly wish I'd never alowed this update. Is there any way to revert back to 10.4.6?I have a DSC-T1 Sony camera. I also have a Panasonic video camera with a built in digital camera. I just took some shots with the Panasonic. Plugged it in, and it worked perfectly. iphoto opened and did what it was supposed to do. I then tried the Sony and nothing happened again. Maybe this is a problem with the mac not recognizing certain cameras...?????

Well, it worked fine for me as well for the past couple of years. I had not had any problems using it for the past few years. I use a Mac OS X Yosemite. As far as I can tell nothing had changed. I had not added any new updates, and a week ago the adjustment brush in camera raw simply ceased working. Everything else in camera raw works. However, the adjustment brush is a critical tool. I have checked my permissions, and even repaired my permissions with no results. Of course I have also tried several restarts to no avail.

I use to be able to save Facebook pics onto my photo roll in my iPad. For some reason I am no longer able to do this and yet photos that I take automatically get saved into my photo roll. Can someone tell me what to do to continue saving photos from Facebook.
Create an image (.tif format 48x48 pixels) that's just a white square and drop it into /Library/User Pictures then go back to the Accounts preference panel and click on the Picture and select Edit then Choose and select the image.

Yesterday I was able to take photos but around 9pm last night my rear camera stop working. I have reseted my phone and have also restored it and the camera still is not working. Also I have deleted all apps that can have access to the camera and i have updated the new IOS.What else should I do ? Is this a hardware problem?

They won't replace the lens. If they determine it is a manufacturing defect, you'll get a replacement phone.

My HP Pavilion Laptop is about 3 years old.
My
sister's Dell Inspiron laptop is 3 years old.
My HP laptop is well-cared, as opposed to my sister's Inspiron Dell laptop, which is always thrown in dust without caring at all. Also, its battery is always inserted even when it is fully charged while the laptop is plugged in to the main power supply.
However, my laptop is either used on only battery, or on plugin. Also, it is kept from the dust. But, I really found that the battery of the Dell laptop still lasts about three and half hours, and there is no problem cooling fan is not properly properly.
I only remember one thing differently done on my laptop battery which is I charged it fully, then I stored it without using it for about four months, then when I reused it, I found it got worse over time. I.e. first time of using it after storing,I found
it empty, then I charged it again fully, however, then it lasted about 2 hours, then 1 and half hours, next an hour, now it is only lasting about 20 minutes without performance. If there is high performance, then
the computer shuts down suddenly.
My problem is follows:::
First: Whenever I inserted any Containing Data OR Data CD/DVD-RLightScribe discs, I found that HP optical driver was
unable to read them. When clicking on the optical disc drive 'double-click' while disc was inserted, then I found that disc opened as this way(NOTE: With a CD/DVD player is grayed out)
I was told 'I suspect the culprit might be hardware and lightscribe dive might be

I tried running the below command line to fix potential disk issue 'Chkdsk/r /f'
I cleaned the drive, discs, and so on.
I have uninstalled the all third-party data recording software.
I have uninstalled the Cyber DVD suite, lightscribe system software
which came pre-installed with my HP pavilion Notebook.
I have recovered my system from the HP Factory Recovery discs.
I have tried opening all those LightScibe discs not opening on my HP optical drive, on a Dell optical drive, and all of them were opened well, although Dell optical drive did not have a lightscribe feature at all., nor third party disc recording software.
However, the problem is still with opening the discs LIGHT-SCRIBE.
Thus, my questions are:
How to determine if the drive is corrupted and needs to be replaced with another one.
I think there something needed to be done on the BIOS Of my HP laptop[[[A similar problems happened on my Desktop computer's optical drive which is as follows (ALL discs are opened as empty by Optical Drive of My Desktop Computer) ---while
my optical drive of my desktop was connected to the
primary slave IDE, and the HDD was connected to the primary master IDE, the optical drive and hard disk are functioning well. However, I remember that while burning an image with Nero essential V: 5, something went wrong, and
then the Optical Drive of My Desktop Computer (HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20) became NOTrecognised/Installed on
BIOS, although it was still shown on the device manager as a recognised device. Also, it was listed on my computer, however, when entering a disc(blank or with data) into the drive, I found it was not recognised, and it opened empty(no files
at it), although it contains data. Thus, I decided to boot to BIOS, and clicked on 'Autodetection for IDE', then I found that only HDD was still shown as installed on BIOS. However, the optical drive was not. Th I tried clicking on it on BIOS and then
clicking on 'enter' to try to let the device be re-recognized. However, that
made no difference. I had to take part my computer ,and then reconnected the optical drive onto thesecondary slave IDE , and let HDD connected to the same
primary master IDE. Then, I found that the problem solved and all discs were read normally. Aslo, optical drive became installed on BIOS.

It turns out that when I bought the phone, it was assigned a new sim card/telephone number. Now there are two phone numbers on my o2 account - the one I use, the one that came with the new phone.
The order number is appearing under the new sim card's phone number, not the one I intend to use.
Hopefully, O2'll be able to update the order and link it to the telephone number I use. It's not a major problem (at all) but I'd rather have it connected to the number I use than a random number that came with the phone. -

Go to Solution.Agree with Cicopo, but would add that you can save some money by buying used. I found a Canon 10-20mm used just looking around for 5 minutes. Places to look include:
Amazon
Ebay (but be careful)
Photography On The Net's forum page. (You have to register to see the for sale items)
Craigslist (though you could wait a LONG TIME for a particular lens to pop up in your particular area.
The Canon has good IQ compared to most of the contenders, though it costs a bit more than the others. On the other hand, IF your shots never get blown up more than a small inset image on a website, or a thumbnail on a home flyer, then you really don't need awesome IQ. On the other hand, you own a 7D, which suggests you probably enjoy photography more than the average realtor taking shots of listings. If that is the case, and you would get personal use out of it too, then maybe you want to get the best possible lens near your budget.
Do avoid off-brand lenses that are manual focus only (Bower, Samyang, Rokinon, etc.) unless you feel comfortable doing MF on your camera. You have to read the descriptions carefully to not miss that.
